On the second day of the ceasefire, I want to say that I’m very grateful to everyone who has helped my friends in Gaza. Nader’s (@abdalsalam2000) fundraiser has reached almost 88,000 euro, and is only 12,000 away from the final goal. He is a seventeen year old boy who is trying to save his family of eight, which includes his one year old niece Iman and his father Ahmed who suffers from cancer which is going untreated because of the genocide. They need to evacuate to get Ahmed the treatment he needs to survive. I’m very emotional and grateful for the help they’ve received, it means the world to their family and all the people who care about them. I think very often of the people who donated €1,000, that money makes more of a difference than I can put into words. I just want to say that your donations and your words matter intensely, you have the power to show these people that the world is listening and that we care and you want to help, and that can help keep hope up. They’ve suffered a lot, and continuing to ask for help is difficult. Please continue to give Nader and his family your support and share this post and donate. Your donations can be what saves them.

The border will likely open soon, and it would be amazing if they could reach their goal by then. They currently have €87,720 raised, only 280 left to reach 88,000! I know there are kind people reading this, and even though we may feel powerless to stop this, we always have the power to help ❤️🇵🇸

if it’s ok to ask, what plugins did you use to make all the ambient drone sounds ? im heavily inspired by perverts to create some ambient now

paulstretch is a staple food for drone/ambient artists, i'd say. i've been paulstretching songs since i was 15 using it on audacity to make my own ambient mixes of electronic songs i liked lol. delay and reverb is good but it really just depends on the weight and texture of the audio you want to drone. it also depends on whether you want it to be melodic or not. i love to use heavy chorus/phasers/tremolo/auto-pan to really create a lot of density and movement in the stereo field. you really just have to identify a sound you like, whether it's a single chord in a song that really grips you or the rumble of a highway, and decide how best to stretch it out over 20 minutes. you can turn anything into drone, which is the beauty of the genre for me.

Help a Disabled Homeless Trans Person Afford Supplies

December 26th, 2024 I am a trans woman in a precarious situation. I've gone through a lot the latter half of this year and lost a lot of my independence. I've had my life plans uprooted out from under me and kicked to the streets and been left with very little to go off of. i know what I need to do to get myself out of this hole for myself but I just have no energy desire or motivation to do it...

I've basically turned into my grandfather who never wanted to do anything or look after himself after my grandmother died

I can't lie, I find it very odd that posts cautioning people against donating to individual* campaigns and promoting the idea of supporting mutual aid efforts and community kitchens in Gaza can rack up 10k+ notes--while a post promoting a community kitchen (that I can personally vouch for) struggles to get 1k notes, and has barely pulled in a couple hundred dollars over the past week.

I actively try to avoid using guilting tactics in fundraising, but this is weird to me. It's like people are using these posts as an excuse not to do things they already didn't want to do anyway, rather than actually taking their recommendations on board...

*In my experience, these campaigns often support large extended families + their neighbours

realizing this year just how much of my life I've sat watching tv/generally being woefully unproductive when I know I can and have spent my time doing way better and more valuable things for myself

I'm definitely capable of getting past this mental slump I've created for myself and growing up, but for every step forward I feel I knock myself back by just doing the easy things and letting days/weeks go by, allowing food to rot, dust to accumulate and life to sweep past, completely taking it for granted. This very much can and will change, I'm sure of it, and I'll for sure commit myself to it, but in the short term I've just written off the rest of the year.
