TA: I am…an iterator, made with the task of testing various methods and techniques that may or may not lead to the answer of ascension.

Unknown

Unknown is a rather gentle and understanding sleep paralysis demon. He was forced down a path he never wanted to take by the leader of the sleep paralysis ring/level, Arakari/The Bishop. Unknown was raised by The Bishop to be somewhat like a pope to a cult by the name of: ‘Children of The Endless Night.’ Unknown was a naïve, innocent demon until he matured and was summoned into the human world. The cult followed The Bishop religiously and saw them as a god, and Unknown did too, but as a parent as well. This cult was found in Africa, 2675 - 2130 BC, around the time of the Egyptians. The cult was very large and heavily religious, but where they lived, they had no food, so what did they do? Eat the bodies of those who were sacrificed of course!

This cult fasted for around five days, and very few starved, until one member of the cult was sacrificed. They then took the body and ripped out the bones, and stuffed the body and organs with fruits they had scavenged, which lead into a giant meal. Unknown was absolutely horrified by this act, and worst of all, when member numbers got low, Unknown was told by The Bishop to seek out those who had sleep paralysis, bring them to the cult, and to be sacrificed since they allowed a demon to get into the human world, which for people with common sense, was such a nonsensical punishment for something a human can’t control. Unknown, with a heavy heart, did as he was told. When he couldn’t take it anymore, he visited The Bishop, BEGGING that he’d be freed from the cult to live a normal life of a demon. The Bishop, with a cruel idea, set a deal: if Unknown killed and ate the bodies of everyone in the cult, he’d be freed, but, he wouldn’t be allowed to return to hell, his home. Unknown pried why this deal had to be so cruel, but The Bishop persisted, insisting it was the most logical deal.

That night, Unknown relentlessly murdered everyone in the cult, eating their bodies whole. While it felt good to dispose of those who were so despicable, he couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of disgust and fear of himself. That night, he refused to sleep, and hadn’t slept for over thousands of years. He decided he’d use his powers for the better, to help those with his own issue, insomnia. He found a small teddy bear that smelt of Lavender, and Unknown found it quite comforting. With his powers, every night, he’d seek out those who struggled to sleep in Sunmore city (where he settled due to the lovely warm, humid weather) and sneak the teddy bear into their rooms, filling the room with the comforting smell to help them sleep.

But on one particular night, he met his unknowing best friend for life.

One night, he caught wind of a young human girl who was struggling to sleep, this girl was named Evelyn, and she was around 14 years old. While sneaking the teddy into the room, Evelyn woke up. Her room was rather large, but it didn’t have many places to hide, plus, the room was soaked in the moonlight, so Unknown couldn’t hide in the shadows or even use his Shadow form. Evelyn sat up and saw Unknown for the first time, and at first, she was afraid, but soon enough she calmed down and seemed intrigued by him. Unknown explained he was a demon, and it’d probably be safer if she didn’t converse or even be friends with him, but Evelyn insisted that he looked like he needed a friend. Unknown was touched, and accepted the offer, and soon enough they became very close friends and they trusted each other with their lives.
