Your Experience to qualify for PMP
If you have a four-year college degree, then you will need to show that you have spent at least 4,500 hours working on projects, and that your project work took place over at least a three-year period. So there are two separate requirements: volume of work (4,500 hours) and duration spent working in that realm (3 calendar years). The experience should be non-overlapping
For example, assume you worked on two projects at the same time, over a two-year period. You worked very hard, racking up 4,500 hours on the two projects over that time frame. You spent 2,500 hours on Project A and 2,000 hours on Project B. Both projects will be considered for purposes of meeting the volume (hours) requirement. However, since you were working on them both over the same time period, only one of them will count for purposes of satisfying the duration (three year) requirement
If you have something less than a four-year college degree (i.e. high school diploma or associates degree), you can still get your PMP certification, but the requirements increase. Here you would have to show five years of overall project work experience, as well as 7,500 hours for the volume requirement. All other requirements are the same; the numbers just increase for the work experience

PMP Certification Process
The PMP Certification Process and the requirements for becoming a PMP are quite complicated if you haven鈥檛 taken any PMI exams (like CAPM) before. Reading the PMP Handbook alone will not help you much as you will still have some questions unanswered. Over the next few days I am going to publish content for PMP aspirants
First lets look at the requirements to appear for the exam:聽
A) Fulfill PMP credential requirements:聽
1. Must have enough project management experience as stipulated by PMI For secondary degree holders (e.g. high school diploma, associate鈥檚 degree) : need to have at least 5 years of project management experience and a minimum of 7,500 hours leading and directing projects For four-year degree holders (e.g. bachelor鈥檚 degree) : need to have at least 3 years of project management experience and a minimum of 4,500 hours leading and directing projects聽
2. Have the required 35 Hours of Project Management Education Any education on project management offered by a formal education provider taken at any time before the PMP exam will satisfy this requirement, e.g. a course in your degree curriculum about project management with a length of more than 35 hours The PMP Certification Process Overview The course on project management is NOT required to be based on PMBOK Guide BUT taking a course based on PMBOK Guidewill help you also in your PMP preparation (try to find a PMP exam prep course provided by a PMI Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.)that is accredited by PMI, more on that later)
Tomorrow we will cover in detail about project management experience and how to determine eligibility.

Leadership
I am wondering what makes great leaders. Is it more money, more fun, more followers, more attention? What is it? It starts with a spark, watching someone think disruptively, amaze wealth and live life king size. We all do not start thinking that we need to be great leaders or should I call it legendary. Not me!聽
As we live move up the professional ladder we make choices, to become better, to buy comfort for our loved ones, to make sophisticated lifestyle changes and then realize that the only way we can achieve all of this is to work for a larger purpose and not be selfish.
Let me start identifying how leaders emerge,聽
Leaders have a compelling vision, to the extent when people hear them out they laugh
Leaders are great dreamers, those who are successful execute their dreams
Leaders are enablers. They help enough other people reach their goals
