Okay, this is awesome and I love it, but my first thought about it was what if this only added to why Bakugo feels entitled to Midoriya?

Like, in this AU, Bakugo is gay, but knows that he needs to have kids at some point to help his rise in the rankings. This means having a wife he would need to put up with.

But....

Midoriya is a guy. A not-to-bad-looking guy. (Not as attractive as Bakugo, of course) but with the way he can change into a girl when it's "convenient", that solves the kid/wife thing, no problem.

He can knock Midoriya up as a woman, and after the brat is born, he doesn't have to deal with a woman's mood swings or neediness or time of the month.

Win-win in Bakugo's eyes.

(I'm hoping it is obvious I'm saying these with Bakugo's view of things, not my own opinions)

About Midoriya's gender in Entitlement Runs in the Family?- if you were just writing short fics, I would suggest going with the gender that you wanted to write at the moment. But, if you wanted to write a big fic, may I suggest shooting Midoriya with the old Genderfluid Beam?

Who's the man who knows what he's done and promises to play up Bad Luck Bruno?

My guess is Felix, considering how he bursts in to start We Don't Talk About Bruno.

I feel like Bruno is not gonna have a good time in Magic and Miracles. Not that he’s had the best of times.

But Bruno in this AU has openly accepted his pariah status because he knows it protects his sisters. He remembers being right and seeing a future where his sister is burned at the stake because the village feared them. He’s to useful to kill so he makes sure they hate him and not Pepa.

He’s a broken man who tries his best. (Who had another vision years ago that the only way out of lead to a body in a grave) And his one safe place was sneaking out of the valley. There he met them.

Fire red hair, messy black. Big green eyes a shade brighter than his, brown eyes full of warmth. A charming laugh and a cackling one that filled him with hope.

He fell in love with them. They fell in love with him. They promised to find each other again.

Then…

A man tackling him.

“You don’t deserve her. I’ll deal with this. Obliviate!”

Nothing. He goes home. Isn’t aware his son is born.

Then Mirabel has no door and a future is etched into glass that terrifies him. He does what he does, and takes the blame. Spreads rumours. Reaches out to the only person who knows what he’s done, and makes the man promise to play up Bad Luck Bruno.

He vanishes.

Then, years later, a letter comes for him. He reads it in confusion. A tug on the back of his mind. He gives in.

He remembers.

He lost them. He lost his soulmates. He left his son alone.

He is alone to.

Bruno isn’t having a good time.

I am a sucker for alliteration, honestly

I love the few fics where both families are good, because Ron and Malfoy usually end up being friends, but like, the kind of friends where they would rather die than admit to helping each other.

I read one where they put real effort into giving Malfoy a slow redemption. He started first year with the same beliefs, and when the scene came where he offered Harry friendship, Harry said something (cant remember what) that started a debate between them, and Malfoy left the conversation Very Confused.

Harry, Hermione, and even Ron to an extent (phrased like that purely because Ron doesn't actually know much about muggles himself) slowly dismantle everything he was raised to believe to the point he wasn't an actual bully before the end of second year, but they still weren't friendly with each other till the end of fourth.

The Malfoy family in the HP/Encanto AU aren’t coming off great either.

Lucius is fully aware Sirius is innocent but isn’t invested in saying anything because frankly it’s better having him imprisoned as it has the Black Lord seat (I know I know but it’s fun) in his clutches. Also he doesn’t like Sirius anyway.

I want everyone to imagine Bruno hiding in the walls finding an owl holding a letter from Gringotts which says he is the soulmate of Lily and James Potter and their will is finally being read after 10 years.

Because Harry goes to the bank to ask questions and a very annoyed Goblin who wants his job to not be in limbo takes the chance to set up a will reading which has been blocked by the Malfoy family for years as Lucius knew Sirius was innocent and didn’t want it getting out as if it did he would lose the Black political power.

Bruno, confused, gets a nudge to use his Gift which he does and gets his memories back.

Now, would Harry Potter be happening post-Encanto, or would it derail the movie entirely? Cuz, omg the possibilities either way.

Post Encanto, Mirabel was 4, about to be 5, when Harry was conceived and Snape Obliviated Bruno:

Little 11-year old Harry having this meeting, and then a week later getting an entire family with a super protective older cousin in Mirabel, who sees the signs of neglect on this little kid, but infinitely worse than she went through.

A fierce but hesitant Isabella who wants to protect Harry like she never did with Mirabel.

Quiet Dolores listening in on conversations of all these adults who claim to want the best for her little primo, but never properly stepped up.

Camilo thinking it would be funny to go home to the Dursleys pretending to be Harry, and then storming back half a day later and vowing that they would get Harry back only after Camilo was dead.

Big, Hagrid-esque Luisa who doesn't hesitate to hug the stuffing out of Harry, but always careful to never hug too tight, and quickly becomes his go to for a snuggle.

Little Antonio who doesn't entirely know what's going on, but he does know that he has a new cousin who is fascinated by his animals and will listen to him talk to them and translate all day.

All these cousins coming from seemingly nowhere and laying claim to him in a way no one has ever wanted to before, warming the ache for family he had long thought pointless.

Pre-Encanto, maybe Mirabel was a toddler, so she is closer in age to Harry, but still a couple years away from Antonio's ceremony and the plot of the movie:

Mirabel is doing her best to help her family, to not get in the way, Abuela please look at her, helping raise Antonio because Pepa can't bring him with her to the fields, he'll catch a cold. (Is she a witch, or a muggle in this?)

Señorita Perfecta Isabella, slowly suffocating from the strain of being Senorita Perfecta, begging silently for a chance to go wild.

Luisa, who has been fine, barely noticing that the villagers need her help more and more, not realizing she is out of the house longer and longer each day.

Dolores, silently dying from hearing everything, noticing everything, and never being noticed in return.

Camilo, who shifts so often for so many people it's not really fun anymore, it's a chore, not a game.

Baby Antonio, who doesn't realize how odd his family is, but sees how his Mirabel is the only one who can't seem to do anything special, who always seems to be an afterthought unless it is for Abuela to scold her, and is already starting to develop the thought "which side of this divide will I fall into"

They want to bring him with them, want to protect him, but they also want to keep him far, far away from the pressured and expectations they themselves have always been subject to. It's a matter of which side breaks first.

For added chaos, Wally West could be female in the MCU, and have Wally be Peter's mother.

The Bats get a hold of Spider-Man's DNA, they find out he is somehow the son of Dick and his MALE best friend, so of course he must be a genetically engineered experiment who either escaped his creators and they need to help him ASAP, or he was released to gain their attention and earn their trust for possibly nefarious purposes.

I did a little looking into parental genetics, and guess what?

A set of parents with Black hair and Blue eyes, and Red hair and Green eyes, CAN HAVE A BROWN HAIRED AND BROWN EYED CHILD!!!

You heard me right.

Dick and Babs or Dick and Kor'i can both be canonical pairings for Peter's Parents in the DC universe.

I personally like Dick and Kor'i for Peter's parents better, not for a lack of a love for Babs, Babs and Dick are my favorite DC Pairing. But more for the fact that Mary and Kor'i sound similar enough phonetically that anyone slipping up and accidentally calling her Kor'i in her civilian identity could easily pass it off as just slurring the name Mary a bit. And the fact that Richard and Mary Parker both worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Comics, and their Plane crash death always sounding like a Government made cover story for an agent dying on a secret mission, well...

Richard Parker and Mary Parker were Government funded Heroes in the Marvel Universe, under the codenames of Nightwing and Starfire, and were killed on a mission, orphaning their son Peter with his Aunt and Uncle, May Parker, and Jason "Ben" Parker. For MCU Continuity, they could have been members of the First Avengers Initiative Team, one that existed in the early 90's, who was shut down in the late 90's after members of the team died in a tragic mission, and that would be why the Initiative was Shut down before The start of the MCU with Nick Fury trying to revive it. And that's why Nick (and Talos) knew who Peter Parker was and trusted him with Mysterio First. Not just because he's Spider-Man or was in the Area, but because Both of his parents were founders of the FIRST Avengers team.

That's my personal Headcanon at least.

But I also love Babs being being Mary, because that totally recontextualizes all of the starts to Peter in Gotham Fics as a Mother seeing her Teenage Son (who looks so much like his father it hurts, with the Lazarus Pit-ification of his eyes to green really showing how much his eyes are shaped after his mother's) for the first time, usually looking Homeless, injured, starving, and traumatized, all wrapped up in whatever random clothes he could snatch up from his surroundings to pass off as normal looking. And she just has to have a silent crying breakdown as she knows that's her son, even if she hadn't birthed him yet (or maybe she thinks the memory of her being pregnant was erased from her memory? She doesn't know what to think anymore!) but a mother can always recognize her baby. And he just looks so Hurt and all she can do is cry and try to get concrete proof that he's her son in the short time he's in her library, while ALSO calling over Dick to ask if he knew they had a kid together.

Part 1 Alya Salt post due to alya running after akumia battles and into battles. Ladybug has enough to worry about than saveing her so called bestie. But when she brings Chris abd the twins to a battle. Cause she couldnt drop them off with Marinette. Nino doesnt know that she is just dropping them off without asking. He and his folk think that ut has been arraged that Marinette will watch them while he and alya go out.

Part 2 Nino breaks up with her over the fact she took his brother to case an akuma and doesn't get the fact even if ladybug fixes everything it still isn't okay. Marinette as Ladybug, gives and talks to Alya saying they have a talk with Alya. She doesn’t like the fact she will case a battle but draws a line at putting children in harms way. Alya blames Marinette says she was to watch the, kids but wasn't home.

Marinette was growing tired of Alya’s antics. She didn’t mind watching the twins and Chris from time to time. But lately, Alya had been dropping them off constantly and without any warning. She wanted to go on dates with Nino and couldn’t watch the kids. Marinette tried being a supportive friend and watch the kids, but it was growing old fast. And that isn’t the only thing Alya had been doing. She had also been going to all the akuma battles and filming them for the blog. It was making Marinette’s job harder because she had to constantly stop the fight to rescue Alya. But Marinette put up with it. But then Alya went to far.

Marinette was fighting an akuma, when she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye. She saw Alya, which is nothing new. What was bad was she had the twins and Chris with her! Chunks of debris went flying towards the group. Marinette rushed over and shielded them as best as she could. Some debris still hit Chris and Alya. They weren’t seriously hurt, but there were some cuts and scrapes. Marinette gathered the group as best she could and brought them as far as she could from the fight.

When they landed on a roof, Marinette wheeled on Alya. “What on earth were you thinking!? How could you bring them to a fight that you had no business being at to begin with!?” Alya looked genuinely surprised that her idol was yelling at her. “Well, I normally drop them off with my friend when I need to do something, but she wasn’t home and wasn’t answering her phone. She completely bailed on me. If she had just been at home, I could have left the kids there. Its her fault they are here. But I didn’t think it was that bad, since you would be able to fix everything when it was done. No harm done!” Marinette couldn’t believe what she heard. “Even when I fix things, the memories are still there. What if they had serious trauma from this Alya? And your friend didn’t bail on you, you were planning on just dumping the kids on her. If you don’t discuss in advance, it isn’t bailing, it is just being unavailable.” Alya stood in shock of being reprimanded. What she didn’t realize is that she was still livestreaming.

Nino had turned on the Ladyblog livestream as soon as it appeared, wanting to support his girlfriend. He never expected to see Chris and the twins standing on the battle field. He watched in horror as debris came flying at them. He was thankful to Ladybug for protecting them and furious when he saw that Chris was bleeding. And when he heard everything that Alya said, he was even more furious. She had just been dropping them with Marinette? He had thought this was an agreed arrangement, but it sounded like she had never discussed it with Marinette at all. He called his family after the fight was over, making sure that Chris was safe before anything else.

His family called Alya’s and told them what had been happening. They had no idea that Alya had been pushing her babysitting duties onto Marinette. They spoke with Marinette, who was now home from the fight, to find out what exactly had been happening. Normally, Marinette would try to cover for Alya, but Alya had pushed her to far with this latest stunt. She told them everything. That Alya had been dropping the kids off with her suddenly for several weeks. To say Alya’s parents were furious would be an understatement. She was immediately grounded and her technology was taken from her.

When she went to school the next day, Nino pulled her aside and broke up with her. “What you did was not cool at all Alya. You’ve been making Marinette cover for you without warning and you put the twins and my brother in danger. I can’t be with you anymore.” Alya was shocked and stood as her life crumbled around her. She continued to try and blame Marinette for what had happened, but was quickly shut down every time. She truly didn’t see what she had done wrong. Ladybug would be able to fix any injuries. She just didn’t get it. What had she done so wrong?
