The worldbuilding is not something you can reasonably separate from the kink. The setting is, on a very fundamental level, built around that kink. It is a setting designed to tell dark romance stories about creatures who will completely ignore what you claim you want while still ultimately caring about your well-being. It is a setting so fundamentally grounded in power dynamics that one of the fundamental rules is to not portray children or childhood in the same context as the affini.

If you like the worldbuilding but dislike the kink, you have not understood the worldbuilding. I would casually recommend checking out the Culture books; that might be a bit more your speed. But we're here for the fucked up kink.
