Leanne Tormey has three years of experience with the New York-based Carver Center, where she recently served as its Chief Learning Officer. In the position, Leanne Tormey defined developmental programmatic goals in the service of "Building Brighter Futures" for all clients from a diverse, underserved community. Through the organization, she helped clients improve their access to educational resources, childcare, food, systems of wellness and naturalization services. In 2015, Dr. Tormey also established the Leanne Tormey Advantage, for families and children who require extra assistance in education. Without pursuing litigation, she achieved improved personalized services on behalf of these clients by ensuring the appropriate response from schools for these children. Alongside a Doctor of Education (EdD) from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Leanne Tormey has a Master of Science in School Administration from Iona College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from George Washington University in 1990. While there, she was the president of the school's Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority chapter. Dr. Tormey enjoys many hobbies, and is a budding amateur photographer. She also enjoys Broadway, yoga, dance and manages a blog entitled, "Be Brave".
