League of Legends
League of Legends (LoL), commonly referred to as League, is a 2009 multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. Since its release in October 2009, the game has been free-to-play and is monetized through purchasable character customization, such as skins and summoner icons which a player can purchase with RP, League’s premium currency.

League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game in which the player takes control of a champion with a unique set of abilities and play style. The player controls the champion from an isometric view. Over the course of a match (Summoners rift) champions gain levels from gathering xp from killing minions, players or jungle monsters. (Unless support where xp can be collected from well, supporting) Champions will also receive gold for all the actions listed, as the champion levels up, they gain 1 point per level to use to put into one of their unique abilities, a champion will have 4 abilities. (5 including passive) These abilities are bound to the Q,W,E,R keys by default. These abilities all differ from champion to champion.  In a summoners rift game there are two teams of 5, in a player vs player environment, where both teams have to defend their side of the map whilst pushing into the enemy's, the objective of the game is to take down the towers to reach the enemy's nexus and destroy it to win. A team can achieve this by reaching the enemy’s base through destroying multiple turrets in a single lane to then reach the opposing teams base, reach through to the nexus and thus destroy it.

In a summoners rift game, there are 5 playable roles on both teams which are; Top lane, jungle, middle lane, bottom lane (Also known as ADC [Attack damage carry]) and support which are all played with one person per area except bottom lane where typically the support and bottom lane will go. Within the 5 roles for summoners rift, are currently 158 champions to choose from, with all having abilities to best match the lane they play in, although theoretically any champion can be played in any role, most have their abilities made for a specific lane, and are most commonly played in the lane that they were suppose to be in. Top, middle and bottom lane typically have the same job, kill minions to gain gold, and try and topple the other players you are playing against to get ahead in tower damage, gold and kills.  Jungle however will not play in a lane, but instead the jungle. The jungles job is to kill the jungle monsters and level up and gain gold from them, instead of the typical minions in the lanes. It is also a jungles job to take down epic jungle monsters such as Drake’s, Baron and the Rift Herald which all give select buffs and or items to help win the game. The jungle is also expected to “gank” the other lanes to try and gain an advantage on that lane. Typically to help their team push towards lane or set them up for a kill for some extra gold and xp. Support, typically used bottom lane is less about going for the kills (on most champions) but more for setting them up or making sure that the champion that they are supporting stays alive in battle. For example the champion Yumi is all about latching onto a player, healing them and has one ability that can slow the enemy down, whereas Morgana is all about rooting the enemy champion in place, so that a team member can easily get the kill. This all varies from champion to champion. Current list of champions: (https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_champions)
