A Snippet of Something

Hello Everyone!! I want to share a bit of my current WIP, Killjoy's Bar! It's in its infancy, mostly just planned and replanned, but I do have some written!

Here are the first few lines of the beginning story (for now) The Street Witch

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------The moon was high in the sky, shining brightly on the near-abandoned streets of downtown Cedar Point. It was late, and Blaze was on their way home from a movie with friends. Though they took the same route home every day, this time something out of place caught their eye.

A green neon sign—Open all night!—hung above an archway Blaze had never noticed; a door inset inside the archway, windows obscured with a sign identifying the place as Killjoy’s Bar, seemed to draw Blaze forward with an almost magnetic pull. Blaze had a suspicion that the place had to be magic—that was the only way to explain its sudden appearance, and its magnetic attraction. They had always felt a strong pull toward magic and monsters; their mom claimed that they were magic themselves.

They thought for a second. If this was a monster bar, things might get dicey for them. Things also might get fun; and they weren’t gonna live forever. Decision made, they took a deep breath, steadied themselves, and pushed open the door. It did not take long for Blaze to wonder whether that was such a good decision after all.

Blaze Bellflower: A Character Introduction

Protagonist of: The Street Witch, Bell of the Ball

Pronouns: They/Them

Frequently seen with: Fabel Wainwright, weretiger, and Larken Killjoy, Naga

Magic/Monster?: Is what's colloquially known as a Street Witch, a mortal with ties to the monster/magic world.

Blaze is an enigmatic figure in many of their appearances, only really letting their guard down deep into Bell of the Ball (their third appearance). They prefer to keep people at an arms' length and don't do relationships well. Fabel and Larken are perhaps the two biggest exceptions to this. The three of these character's intertwining fates drive much of Killjoy's Bar.

WIP Intro: Killjoy's Bar

So what is LD writing these days?

Killjoy's Bar is a short story collection. It takes place in Cedar Point, a town on the line between monsters and mortals. Magic lives much more out in the open in Cedar Point, letting places like Killjoy's thrive.

Killjoy's Bar, owned by the naga Larken Killjoy, acts/will act as the setting for each of the stories in the collection. This is a collection which ranges from light NSFW to full erotica, and I would call it adult in nature.

Currently, I'm working on rewriting the opening story, The Street Witch. This story features street witch (a mortal who can use magic) Blaze and weretiger Fable.

I hope to post some character introductions and some excerpts of this as I complete sections! I hope this sounds vaguely interesting to someone out there!

Introducing Myself, etc.

Hi everyone, LD here!

It's been a long time since I've been active on tumblr, especially on writeblr. I've wanted to get back into it for a while, but between work, school, and other life stuff, I haven't found time or energy.

But things have changed, and now I have an excuse! So I nuked my previous blogs (livingdeadtransboy/livingdeadwriteblr) because I felt like I had to start fresh. This is the one place you'll find me now.

This is a writeblr for sure, but I want to make it clear that this is also the place I will reblog all the random shit that makes me happy too. So if you only want to follow pure writeblrs, you are out of luck with me.

I have one WIP for now, a group of short stories I'll talk about more shortly, and I plan on posting snippets of poetry and unrelated writing as well, and I do dabble in fanfiction occasionally!

I hope to interact as much as I can! I look forward to maintaining this blog (as much as I can). See you all soon!
