— twelve past midnight.

loud music blared through the sound system, your eardrums buzzing. ironically, sohee forbade taro from playing his music, saying he was cringing at the sound of his own voice. you think that's stupid though—isn't that the sole purpose of this party, celebrating his music?

anyways.

you look up from the beer can you're holding, and you find the said boy already looking at you, mouthing something.

"what?" you frowned, not hearing a thing he said.

he sighed, bringing his lips closer to your ear. your heart skipped a beat at the proximity. "wanna get some air?"

you nodded frantically, practically dragging him through the hallway.

the two of you sit on the curb, too tired to care about the dirt. the sticky sweat on your skin felt cold under the touch of the crisp summer night, yet the alcohol pulsing in your bloodstream seemed to keep you warm.

"how are you feeling?" you asked him, slurring your words and playing with the empty can in your hand.

he hums in thought, his gaze set on the nightsky.

"grateful?" he tentatively muttered, "well—uh—overwhelmed, i guess? this seemed so out of reach a few months ago, you know?"

you nodded sagely in understanding.

"how about you—hic," he asked, interrupted by his own hiccups. you laughed at the sight.

you nudged him in the ribs. "this ain't about me. this is your night."

he snorted. "come on. i can't even ask how are you?"

you rolled your eyes, waving your hand dismissively. "okay, yeah, i'm good. just glad to be celebrating this with you." at that, sohee seemed visibly satisfied.

"you know what? i have something to tell you." he mused, wiggling his eyebrows.

shocked by the goofy face he was making, you raised your eyebrows. "tell me."

"patience is a virtue, pretty girl," he said.

of course, he let a beat of silence ensue. for suspense.

"i have a favorite song on my album."

"which one is it?" you asked.

he shook his head, "guess."

you rolled your eyes.

"what's it about?"

he smirked. "you."

your eyebrows shot up. "you cornball. you wrote a whole song about me? just me?"

"mhm." sohee picked at a loose thread on his shorts, suddenly very self-conscious. "every time I sat down to write, it just kept turning into… you. so, yeah."

silence stretched between you for a beat, but it’s not heavy. far from it, actually.

then, a brilliant idea came to you. so you leaned in, just enough that your shoulders press together. "sing it for me? so i can figure out which one is it. "

"no. way." he accentuated each word.

"c'mon!"

"just stream the album on spotify, and you'll know." he chuckled. "and hey! i might even chart on gaon!"

you refused to budge. watching him squirm is fun. if he can do it, then so can you.

"pleaaase?" you dragged the word out, tilting your head against his shoulder, voice teasing.

he groaned, covering his face as pink dusted on his cheeks. "you're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

but after a second, he inhaled, tapping his fingers against his knee like he's keeping the tempo, and softly hummed the chorus and the bridge, and finally, the ending. just the melody, though, something soft and warm. although his voice was slightly shaky due to all the beers he's consumed.

as he neared the end of the song, he reached for your hand, weaving his fingers through.

"lost and found, huh?" you muttered, raising an eyebrow teasingly. "still as corny as ever."

when you turned to look at him, his lips morphed into a small smile. "can't help it," he whispered, staring fondly at you.

the two of you sat like that for a while, time stretching on, unhurried. you knew you had to come back to the party eventually, but right now, this moment is all yours. and maybe, just maybe, that’s enough.

꩜ .ᐟ a/n: aaaa cant believe im saying this but lost and found is nearing its end!!! it's a been a long ass ride but we're finally here folks. this was so fun to write, but also challenging. ive never made a smau before, let alone a long series, so thank you for reading :)) ive still got much to learn abt writing and managing this blog thats for sure. oh and ill be posting the last chapters this weekend so stay tuned!

#32. HANDS OFF MY MAN ???? (+written, 0.4k)

꩜ .ᐟ a/n: HAPPY ANTON DAY!!!! icb he's 21 !! he's grown sm in such a short time :') it seems like it was just yesterday that he had this doe-eyed look and now he's much more confident <3 anyways enjoy tjis chapter :)

sohee swallowed, steeling himself for what's coming. the screams pierced his ears as he and wonbin stepped on the stage.

his legs felt wobbly, and the air seemed to suffocate him. he couldn't help but let his mind wander to the thought of you. his eyes scanned the audience, close to the stage, on the left—that's where seunghan and the others sat, and yet, there was a vacant seat next to anton.

your seat. his heart sunk down to his stomach. where is she?

wonbin caught his attention, signaling him with his hands.

"what's up, snu?" the latter yelled, hyping up the already hyped crowd. "i'm wonbin. ready to have a good time?"

the crowd screamed, and at that sound, the band started playing the opening song.

wonbin started skillfully fiddling with his guitar, and looked at sohee in the eyes meaningfully. "let's do this," he mouthed.

sohee nodded, adjusting his in-ear and pushing down his nerves. he closed his eyes, letting the rhythm overtake his body.

it was a surreal experience. despite his worries, he performed well with wonbin and the band, as if connected by passion.

it was around half the setlist that you had arrived, claiming your seat.

the sound of sohee's heart racing became silent against the loud sound of the drums and guitar. his background vocals blended beautifully with wonbin's, earning him "woo's" whenever he started opened his mouth.

before he knew it, they've performed two thirds of the setlist.

sohee reached for a water bottle, chugging down the icy water.

"how are you feeling, guys?" wonbin asked the crowd, which went wild. "i hope you're not tired yet, because we're going to perform something you've certainly never heard before."

sohee spat out his drink at those words.

again, the crowd went crazy. wonbin urged sohee to step forward. "my insanely talented friend here, sohee, wrote this song, and you guys are the first to hear it live."

at that moment, it felt a million eyes were on him, scrutinizing him. he couldn't help but look for for a certain someone's gaze. yours.

"he'll release his first ep in two weeks, so stay tuned!"

as the two of you locked gaze, a smile spread on sohee's lips, his eyes lighting up.

anton smirked at this sight, and giselle nudged your side with her elbow. "y/n, he's already forgiven you for missing half the set."

"simp," toni whispered.

seunghan let out a playful whistle, making shotaro and eunseok chuckle next to him.

"he's smitten, look at him." taro joked.

wonbin cleared his throat. "dude?" he whispered, arching his eyebrow.

realizing he'd been caught red-handed staring at you by his friends, his cheeks burned red. "hey! i'm sohee," he stammered. "thanks for having me."

he quickly continued, as if to cover his flustered state. "this song is called 'memories'—i hope you'll like it!"

as he started singing again, his voice carried a renewed energy. he tried to let his eyes roam the crowd, but no matter what, they always found their way back to you—like he was singing just for you.
