There was a carelessness to Gabriel’s movements as he wandered around the woods. The bat casually resting on his shoulders, he took one loud step after the other, seemingly choosing to crush branches under his feet. It did not surprise him to be called out to and under normal circumstances he’d have kept walking, challenge them to follow a roamer, but that voice — Didn’t he know that voice? Gabriel stopped in his movements, turning and letting his eyes wander until he spotted her in the thicket. “Lorraine,” the name left his lips in a whisper, just loud enough for the wind to carry it over to her. It felt oddly familiar on his tongue, a bittersweet reminder of the life he had lost. “Is that really you?” he asked as he approached, a smile beginning to grow on his lips at her sight.
At the sigh of the man before her, Lori’s mouth went slightly agape. She didn’t think she’d see anyone from her old life and now there he was. Living proof of her non-existent pre- apocalyptic life. She slowly brought her arm down, still a little struck. She put the gun back behind her and she stood there, completely lethargic. “Mr. Dukes? Gabriel, Oh My God.” she said, almost yelling. A rare smile was on her pale lips as she made her way towards him. He was like a second father to her. When she got to him she immediately went into a hug. “I can’t believe you’re here.”

Alex scoffed, raising his shirt only enough for it to show the gun on his belt. “You can try, but just because you got lucky once doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen again,” he replied, making his way to the exit door without ever turning his back to her. At this point, Alex knew better than that. “Why don’t you make it easy and just fuck off?”
Lori knew he was right. She hadn’t slept in two days, didn’t have breakfast. She was weak. But she tried her best to not look it. “Listen, I’m the leader of the Alliance and you know damn well what we’re capable of and if you’re smart, you’d just hand over the bag. It belongs to me.”

Matthew had left once he got word that his daughter didn’t make it. He had just found her, and like that, she was taken from him. Doing what he does best, he ran from his emotions. He’d told Ethan and Sam that he’d be scavenging for a while; which was a lie. He just wanted to get out. He had caught a glimpse of a woman, someone who he thought was his daughter. He was about to call out to Melissa when he realized that it wasn’t her. He was about to turn around, but he had been heard. “Oh, pardon me,” he said making himself visible. “I didn’t mean to frighten you,” he said in a soft voice
“What do you want?” she asked, dropping the gun to her side, but her finger still on the trigger just in case the stranger tries anything. Since the outbreak she’s been extremely cautious, you couldn’t trust people anymore.

Alex let out a sarcastic laugh as he grabbed the box from her hand rather harshly. “I don’t think so,” he said, holding the object firmly in his hands, his voice just as stern as hers. He was not about to lose anything else to that damned girl. “And If I were your size, I wouldn’t fight me on this,” he finished, filling his voice with mock.
She clenched her jaw as he grabbed the box so easily from her arms. She really needed to work on her strength. “I beat you once. I can do it again.” she said, narrowing her eyes. “Why don’t you make this easy and just hand it over.”

Ivan got wanderlust these days. The days when shit was kinda all completely fucked and the Roamer’s base was just… depressing as shit. Now, he wasn’t very covert and he was sure that the person he had covering for him was going to rat him out to someone who outranked him somehow. But right now? Now, he was stumbling upon a certain someone who was way more prepared to shoot a bitch than he was. And worse? He recognized them. “– Holy hell, if it isn’t the angel of death.” He called her that, right? He’s ninety-percent sure he’s referred to her as the angel of death at LEAST once in their past…. way too many encounters. Then again, he wasn’t all there for the majority of those exchanges. He raised a hand. Partially in a wave, partially in ‘hey, nothing in this hand is pointed at you’. “Can we… not do the stand off thing?”
When she saw who it was she called out on, her forehead creased as she opened her eyes wider to make sure it was really him she was seeing. As soon as he said the words ‘angle of death’ she damn right knew there was no mistaking who the stranger was. “Oh no.” she muttered under her breath. Back then when she worked as a nurse, she had a record breaking number of appointments with him, she remembers all his stupid, idiotic, senseless mistakes that landed him as her patient. She would never admit it out loud but sometimes she enjoyed his company- he got to take her mind of things. He was a memory from her past, she never thought she’d see anyone back from her old life. Even though she has slightly strong feelings of dislike towards him, he meant something to her. She placed her gun back in its holder as she saw that he didn’t have anything. “Damn when are you gonna learn to leave me alone.” she said as she walked towards him.

Once the weapon was placed back in its holder, Ben crossed his arms in front of his chest in amusement. Mild amusement, at least. He hadn’t pointed the trap out so he could get anything in return. Wasn’t out for a trade. “If I had wanted what’s in your bag, I’d just let you walk into the trap and simply taken it. You owe me nothing.” His eyes squinted, head tilted backward by a bit. “Unless you got a bottle of whiskey in there. Then I’ll have to take my statement back and agree that you do owe me.”
Lori’s eyebrows drew together in confusion, she vaguely remembered that back before all this if you did something to someone it was only fair you do something back for them. Her care for this quickly left her system though. She shrugged her shoulders before putting her green shoulder bag across her body. “Suit yourself. Oh yeah totally, because whiskey is just so easy to get these days.” sarcasm lacing her voice.

“Don’t touch it,” he said, referring to the box full of pain killers he had just brought inside. His voice didn’t come out as a warning, but it was firm nonethless.
"I found them first so it's only right I take them." She said grabbing the bag from the top, her voice stern and unrecognisable to her.

Patrolling the woods wasn’t something Ben ever really enjoyed or did excessively. Most of the time, they were more or less quiet. Something he did welcome in this instance. Not that he was any less careful…or so he thought, at least. A voice speaking up just a bit ahead of him left him drawing the gun in his hand himself — only to be lowered a few seconds later. His gaze lowered to her feet, the glint of a fishing line in the sunlight. “If I were you, I would not take a step back. You’re a ballsack away from stepping into a trap that was, probably, not designed for us healthy ones.”
At first, Lori found the stranger a few metres in front of her threatening, she wouldn’t even think about shooting him but after his warning- she figured she now owes him. She looked down at her feet, squinting her eyes before she could see the fishing line. She sighed, another near-death experience but in the world that she lives in, life is a near-death experience. She avoided the fishing line, stepping forward and walking towards the stranger. So i’m guessing I owe you now. Here-” she said as she took her bag off. “There’s some food and water in there. You can have it. Now we’re even and don’t have to see each other again.Correct?”

Lori was looking for something- she wasn't quite sure what but she hoped she'll see something useful for the group. She wandered around the woods for a while, seeing nothing but leaves. In the middle of her search she heard a noise behind her and when she saw no one she took out her gun, pointing it to the direction of the noise. "Show yourself." She commanded, her eyes alert.

Hey guys I’m Nina and if I haven’t messaged you to plot , you should msg me bc I would love to plot!! So I read the writing tips thing and it was pretty helpful so here is half of Lori. It’ll probably be updated soon and also I’m on mobile so sorry for the format. I’m really looking forward to meeting your characters and interacting with y'all !!! (Also fun fact I’m in love with the Walking Dead hence the name)
NAME: lorraine l’adanovic NICKNAMES: lori, la AGE: twenty-five PREV. OCCUPATION: nurse CURR. OCCUPATION: leader GROUP: the alliance TRAITS: +loyal, +hard working, -stubborn, -selfless
HISTORY:
French blood on American soil, Lorraine Anne L'Adanovic was born in Chicago on the third of November. She was the eldest of five kids, her mother a surgeon and her father a carpenter.
Since she was a kid she’s been very self less and caring. Her mother was always at work and her father was always at the bar. She took care of her siblings and put herself in second place. Her siblings were her first priority.
She matured quickly, as a teenager she was considered as the ‘mom friend’ in her group. She was also quite a leader. She knew when it was a good time to be feared or to be loved. She was good like that. She could understand most people’s concerns and thinking, it came easy to her.
Due to her caring nature she chose to pursue the career of a nurse and it always broke her heart whenever she lost a patient. She decided to volunteer in Scottsdale three years after working in Chicago
She lost her parents to the earthquake and she lost her siblings to the disease. It broke her heart so bad but she refused to let anyone see that. She built a wall and a tough exterior, that looks as if she’s glued together on the outside rather than broken on the inside.
After she lost her siblings she started The Alliance and became the leader. Everyone in that group was under her care and she would sacrifice herself for any of them.
GOALS:
her main goal is to survive without losing her humanity. Without turning villainous. Without losing her mind. Without losing her group. EDIT: her other goal is to get the Group closer, make it more like a family instead of people just living on other people.
FLAWS:
She sucks at making decisions (unless under pressure, the her mind will run crazy) so that’s why she relies heavily on the groups advisor.
STRENGHTS:
she’s pretty good at being calm during stressful situations, as a nurse she was in a lot of them so she’s used to it.
