            “   i’ve been thinking   …   ”   there was a pause , simultaneously letting luna realise he was speaking up and giving him just a little more time to think on his words , exactly . it wasn’t that he wasn’t sure whether to suggest it or not , because that was a definite   —   she’d gone through hell with them when she didn’t need to , probably saved their lives , and she was their friend   —   so no , there was no doubt in his mind there .the uncertainty hung on the fact that , no matter how long they’d known each other now and how much they’d gone through just a few days ago   (   and throughout the year   )   , ron still couldn’t always tell with her . which he didn’t mind too much , but as he wasn’t the most socially perceptible person ever , well   —   ah , bugger all , why not ?  

            “   you know , you don’t live too far from us , really , so   —   if you wanna come over any time this summer , that’d be alright   …   yeah ?   ”   an awkward , but in no way insincere , twitch came to his lips as he tried for a smile , watching her carefully in anticipation .  the silence of the hospital wing as hermione slept off her most recent potion , leaving the two of them to themselves , stretched as he waited , just barely resisting the itch of his fresh scars . 

            he didn’t really fancy the idea of any of them being left alone after everything .
