We have lost our homes and loved ones, and we face constant threats to our daily lives. My family and I are in dire need of escaping this war and we are asking for your help in securing travel and asylum to a safe country where we can rebuild our lives.

We lost relatives and friends, my brother and father were injured, our house was destroyed, our car was burned, and everything was lost.

Etaf and her family need your support.

Etaf is a wife and mother of 5 from Ghazzah. Last year, she and her family's home was destroyed, a long with her husband's source of income and their car.

They were displaced for 200 days, all the way induring the hellish tribulations of genocide. Luckily, they were able to flee into Egypt; however their struggles are not over.

Due to their lack of income, Etaf and her husband struggle to provide their children with food, clothing, and education. On top of that, they are struggling to pay the rent on their house as winter approaches.

In order to help Etaf's children continue their education and to help the whole family afford basic necessities, they need to raise €100,000. So far, they've only managed to raise €5,690 and their last donation was 18 hours ago.

Please help them however you can; donate if you're able and share their campaign. Every contribution will help them rebuild their lives.

We’ve now made it to 2025. Quite a busy albeit tough at times year for me. I got to graduate from university on time with my cohort, got to do more solos for choir and even sing one at commencement, my team’s student film managed to win an award at one festival and was a finalist for three other festivals, got my first car ( a used one but still), landed a job, started doing commissions, and probably a lot of other things that I can’t think off the top of my head.

At least this year, I’m not ending it as exhausted as I was at the end of last year, although I was still hanging on by a thread at the beginning of this year. And when things stop being busy and you’re still working on college student survival mode™️, you tend to struggle for a bit with no knowing what to do with yourself.

That trying so hard to be in control and trying to seem like I can handle everything by myself, that ended up backfiring at times. That because it was done easily, can I really be satisfied with the outcome (Yes, yes you can future me).

Because of that, a big theme that I do wanna focus on in this new year is just taking it one day at a time and that I don’t have to stick to doing something forever. After all, people constantly evolve, and I need to give myself permission to not stay stuck. That if I really want to do something, I should just go do it. That even if I’m not perfect at something, make mistakes/am wrong about something, or something doesn’t stick, that it doesn’t make or break me as a person.

Which also ties in to me wanting to try to remember that I don’t need to be perfect, to be what I think people want, or useful for people to like me and want to stick with me. That’s more of an overall goal rather than just one for this year, but it’s good to start somewhere.

So here’s to 2025. Not entirely sure how this year will turn out, especially with how uncertain these times are, but I’m determined to live my life no matter what. Happy New Year y’all!
