Helena wants what helly has. The love. But she doesn’t realize how potent love is. She probably doesn’t even think about the love between Irving and Helly, proven by the way she didn’t even take note of how Helly almost always calls him “Irv” not “Irving”.

She gets her version of love from mark; she turns him away from his oldest living friend. She fucks him too! She gets what she wanted, but love is more than she bargained for.

Irv loves Helly enough to know from the get go that something was wrong. Irv has always loved so much. His love was before so deeply focused on worshiping Kier and the Eagans. This love is eventually turned toward his fellow innies, but he remembers what he learned. It comes to him in a dream. A revelation one might call it.
