Imagining that Zoey and Mira assumed Rumi is trans and that's why she wouldn't come to the bathouse with them/ gets super secretive and covers up a lot is 100000000x funnier if you headcannon Mira as trans. The line of logic falls apart but also holds up even further,,,, those two must've had some reason they felt like it was crossing a line to ask Rumi what was up over the YEARS they knew her. Mira not wanting to force her to come out would make sense if she also went through that, but also Rumi being super uncomfortable with herself after knowing Mira is trans then makes significantly less sense.

Idk i think it's comedic and you can pry trans!Mira headcannon out of my cold dead hands.

The Aftermath of Rumi and Celine’s Relationship (Headcanon)

Listen, I’m supposed to go to bed while writing this headcanon idea BUT this has been stuck in my head and I need this to be a thing (any writers wanna make a fic on this idea, I would love that. 😭)

So, with the ending of K-POP Demon Hunters I had a lot of questions I want answered. Praying for a sequel or some kind of continuation, but Celine and Rumi’s relationship was a big one.

After Rumi’s confrontation with Celine, I wondered what happened to their relationship after Huntrix saved the world. Celine still insisted Rumi’s demon powers could be “fixed” when it’s not something she or anyone can change.

I think Rumi and Celine wouldn’t be talking for a while, reasonably so with Celine’s words and having her suppress and be ashamed of who she was since childhood. But I do feel like Celine would self-reflect a lot, with seeing Rumi even after defeating Gwi-Ma yet still carrying the markings. She wouldn’t 100% let go of her reluctance to accept Rumi’s demon heritage but would be more conflicted, particularly in regards to everything she knew as a Demon Hunter and the complexity of her old friendship with the Sunlight Sisters splitting.

Rumi, I’d imagine, she’d go no contact at least for awhile. She would take that time to let herself take in her new self, letting go of that shame but also would still be mourning Jinu. She would still be processing it, talking to him late at night on the balcony like he could still hear her.

Her friends support her 100% and with finally opening up herself to them, Mira and Zoey would be conflicted with Celine. They probably would call or end up talking with her, main one being Mira. It makes a lot of sense given her conflict in the movie, but Mira would most logically be Rumi’s support on this having been in a toxic family herself and never being accepted for who she was by them.

When seeing Celine after a while, Celine would be awkward and try making conversations with Mira on how Rumi is doing as she respects not trying to call her when she wanted her space.

Mira would be blunt, on how Rumi has been doing lately but she gets into on why Celine thought hiding the truth of Rumi’s heritage would help. Not only as Rumi’s close friend, but having been around Celine for training and never being aware because Rumi was conditioned by Celine to keep this part of her hidden. Just having the one who raised her making the decision to keep this secret from them and planting it into Rumi’s head that her friends, her team wouldn’t accept her.

Just imagine the deep tension from that, UGHH I NEED MORE CONTENT RIGJT NOWW— 😭😭

New KPDH au: Rumi was born with more demon than human in her, meaning when the Honmoon is complete she'll be locked on the other side too, banished to the demon realm.

This would change a list of things, including but not limited to:

Being even more burdened by her duties as a Demon Hunter by Celine, knowing she's actively pushing towards her death

Her demon physiology being more promiment. Pointier ears, sharper nails and teeth, and more prone to lose herself to negative emotions

In this AU, Rumi can actually hear Gwi-Ma and, along with the searing pain from her marks, has to deal with him tempting her to his side since she was a child

The Huntrix's song "Golden" would take on another meaning, Rumi's final stand in the limelight, shining like she's supposed to be, before she's dragged down to darkness.

Making the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the world

Rumi's fear, shame, & self-hatred intesified by 1000

More resentment against Jinu, because Rumi has had to live with the agony and pain by no fault of her own, but Jinu chose to become a demon

The ending is Jinu sacrificing his soul so Rumi can stay in the human realm

Zoey & Mira only finding out the truth of what would have happened to Rumi at the very end, angished at the thought that they could've lost her

Fall arrives in Seoul. Mira and Zoey return home to find Rumi in an oversized sweater and sweatpants, most of her patterns covered up again.

Rumi, from the couch: Hey welcome ba-

*Socked feet pounding against the floor as Zoey and Mira charge her at full speed. Zoey's eyes are already watering and Mira's never looked more determined about anything*

Rumi, panicking: Wait wait wait! I'm not feeling insecure I'm just cold-

*Couch breaking under the double full-body slam launched from back near the kitchen island*

she's gonna be in someone's lap. it doesn't matter that their couch is big enough to fix 20 people on it comfortably, she will sit on the most available lap (usually it's Rumi's)

if she's speaking to Mira and Rumi, she is straddling them and is right in their faces. like, maybe eight inches from their faces having a full on conversation about something. and they don't mind it at all, they love it because Zoey has a very holdable waist
