Was no one else extremely disappointed with the changes they made to Kate and Anthony's story? I was really dissatisfied with how they managed to make their story shallow. One of the things I loved the most in the books was the innate connection they had due to both of their certainty of death. I was really let down by the handling of the story, Kate's deadly fear of storms was turned into merely being unable to sleep, Anthony's certainty of death wasnt even mentioned and the additional story the writers created disallowed for the exploration of their marrige (by far the best part of the novel.)
They knew that Kate and Anthony were one of the most anticipated couples yet chose to completely bungle their story rather than following the storyline that so many readers (myself included) loved. This is not a criticism of the actors, Johnathan and Simone were great, their chemistry was fantastic and Simone especially did a increadble job with the essence of Kate's character. I just fail to understand why the writers chose to change so much of the source material, in doing so they made Kate and Anthony's relationship seem to be built on sex rather than an intrinsic understanding of each other.
I wanted to see their marrige. I wanted to see Anthony grappling with falling in love while feeling the doom of his impending death, and his jealousy at Kate being able to conquer her demons while he is unable. I wanted to see Kate struggling to understand her husband and sweetness of him being at her sick bed explaining his deepest fears. I feel like I was cheated the emotional aspects of their relationship that I was so looking for and can't understand the need the writers felt to change it.

So, we have a pair of geese that nest at our dugout every year, and they're pretty nice. Meaning our dog leaves them alone they leave the dog and cats alone. Apparently my older brothers dog (who comes over when ever he's doing feild work and going to be in and out of our yard) did not get the message. Today I looked out the front window just in time the seeing the male goose chasing my brothers cattle dog across the yard.

Okay, why am I just now figuring out that the chick who plays Mrs. McMurray is the same person who plays Wynonna Earp?

do you ever just think about Jesus living here on earth
i think sometimes we tend to think He just bounced from one miracle to another and everyday was a Bible story but His ministry lasted for three years and the Gospels don’t actually cover that much so
imagine all those ordinary days??
He probably had favorite foods and morning routines and sore dirty feet from walking while sweat ran in His eyes in the hot Judean sun and He got blisters and hiccups and colds and maybe He snored
all the times He laughed till He cried and i bet He had inside jokes with His disciples. imagine having an inside joke with the person who gives you breath to laugh in the first place
and He had human skills He knew how to build a house and cook and wash his clothes and read
passing food at the dinner table and bumping hands with Jesus
talking about silly inconsequential things like the weather
maybe some nights John was sleepy and he leaned against Jesus and could hear His heartbeat
maybe some nights a disciple had insomnia and he climbed out of his bedroll to find Jesus sitting against a rock, looking up at heaven, and they sat and watched the stars together
(the God of the universe looking up through short-sighted eyes at His creation, and the disciple wants so badly to ask what it was like to shape each star, but he looks at those calloused human hands and something in him trembles)
do you ever think that the ordinary days so far outnumbered the miraculous ones that the disciples, sometimes, almost forgot
and then He goes and turns water into wine and feeds five thousand people from a kid’s lunch and brings dead Lazarus walking alive out of the tomb and they just kind of lose their breath
not because they didn’t expect deity to accomplish the impossible but because this God has been livingwith them
it’s not the miracles that are unthinkable

Science side of tumbler. How come I would let Wyatt Russel with a beard punch me anywhere he wanted, but without I want to pummel his stupid mug into oblivion?

I yearned. For what I know not. Perhaps it was love, or a home. Perhaps I yearned for friendship, I don't know. In my melancholy I found myself yearning for something I couldn't even grasp in my mind.

So where I live we're in the middle of a polar vortex, but also at the same time they're playing the world's longest hockey game (it's a continuous game for like 10 days). Usually it's cold when they play because they play at the beginning of February every year however, the temperatures how been regularly below -35 over the past week. Apparently being exposed to -35 for long periods of time is a pucks breaking point. Also, these people are playing out side and eith the wind chill we've been sitting at -40 up to -50.

Apparently they went through about 50 pucks the other night.

Did I think Bridgerton was a good show? Not in particular.
Did I watch it all in one sitting? Yes.
Did I know who Lady Whistledown was from like the second episode? Also, yes.
I'm I desperately waiting for them to make another season? This too is a yes.

CANDLES! I absolutely love the smell of candles. Whether they're lit or freshly blown out. Not the expensive scented ones. No, I love the smell of the cheapest, unscented, undyed candles.
I think it stems from church honestly; I grew up in a Lutheran church. At Christmas time we always had yule logs in the window sills and a giant advent wreath. After church service I would follow the ushers around as they put out all the candles and trimmed the wicks. We've switched to those awful electronic candles now (after a few close calls with candles melting down in the middle of service) but, there's something inherently comforting to me in the smell of unscented candles.
I will always associate that smell with the joy and wonder that Christmas brings. Not the gifts or Santa, but the unadulterated joy and love that came from being a Christian at Christmas. The knowledge that there was a Jesus and I got to celebrate his birthday with all these other people. The feeling of togetherness as we sang Christmas hymn after Christmas hymn and blessed each other with all the merriment and exuberance we could muster.
On Christmas eve we always ended service with each congregational member lighting their own candle and singing Silent Night by candle light. It's a tradition that I cherish especially since becoming the organist for Christmas eve service 2 years ago. After the song has ended each person blows out their candle and we sit in dark silence for about a minute. Not awkwardly, but in quiet reverence for the gift that was given so long ago.
This year will be different. Due to the numbers of Covid 19 being so high in our area, my church has decided not to hold in person service. Instead there will be a live streamed service, that I will be part of. While I mourn the loss of one of my most cherished services in the church year, I mourn even more so for the countless people who have lost loved ones to a virus that shows no mercy. And though Christmas won't be the same, the true meaning of Christmas can't be overcome by the darkness, hatred and despair that this world is going through.
"For God so loved that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" John 3:16
Merry Christmas! Sending out all my love with the hope that a small part of you will feel it.

Why me Lord, what have I ever done
To deserve even one
Of the pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
That was worth loving you
Or the kindness you've shown.
Lord help me Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I've need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul's in your hand.
Tell me Lord, if you think there's a way
I can try to repay
All I've taken from you
Maybe Lord, I can show someone else
What I've been through myself
On my way back to you.
Lord help me Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I've need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul's in your hand.
Kris Kristofferson wrote the beautiful song alone. It always amazes me the beauty that can come from dark places when God is involved.
Kristofferson said he was on top of the world coming out of the sixties he had won countless awards and was involved in writing some of the most well know county songs to this day. However, he said he was in a really dark place when he attended a church service in 1972. As Kristofferson explained the pastor asked, "Is anybody feeling lost?" "Up goes my hand," Kristofferson said. The pastor followed up by asking if Kristofferson was ready to accept Christ into his life. "I'm kneeling there," Kristofferson continued, "and I carry a big load of guilt around...and I was just out of control, crying. It was a release. It really shook me up." Kristofferson called the whole thing a profound religious experience.
