This is the nightmare in my nightmare centric au called ‘Twilight’s Bane’!! Where Nightmare’s corruption concentrates itself into his soul, forcing him to undergo another identity crisis, this time, however, he’s got four henchmen he needs to keep in line. Chaos ensues!

This is not all the information about my miserable loser son and HOPEFULLY I’ll be able to show you guys a whole lot more about him, the henchmen, and the ghosts that haunt him >:)

If you don't mind me asking, how did Nightmare learn to be a good "boss" (dad) in the first place? Did he have subordinates before the Bad Sanses? Did someone teach/adopt him after he was corrupted and he's going off their example?

...

Did he have Killers before this one and he learned from experience?

Y'know what's funny? Ages ago I was planning a (now abandoned) kinda comic series of Nightmare recording events after taking in a mortal for the first time (Killer). It was mostly supposed to be showing how he slowly grew to care for them and softened to them and the world over time (and also how the room behind him would get brighter and more colourful and filled with books and trinkets to show the positive change they were having on him).

And I did think early on about having a plot twist where it turned out he lost his first Killer and that was what made him start taking more care of them when he got another. But honestly that just makes me too sad lol I do think it's a cool idea for his character but I can't do it very well

I like to think, for my Nightmare at least, it was just a lot of doing it wrong for a long time until he learned better. When he first got Killer he was not a good boss, he was still pretty cold and uncaring and didn't really know anything that mortals needed. (In a way Killer was a bad one for him to start with because he wasn't really in the business of taking care of himself so he didn't say anything, he would just kinda collapse when the sleep or food meter got too low and Nightmare would drag him home.)

Horror was the first one in the team that would actually say if they didn't have something, like food or soap or blankets, and by that point Nightmare was pretty receptive to it. Every one of them has taught him things about what they all need but he's still learning and trying his best to make sure they're taken care of.

I’ve never in my life seen or been taught sentence structure like this. It seems incredibly interesting, though. Do any of my followers know anything about this or were taught this?

anyway i loved wild life, it might be in my top three for the life series. if you don't like the changing gimmicks that's fine, it might just not be the season for you. it was fun, it was silly, it was nice to have a season where it WASN'T hinging on the social game.

the players are all obviously at a point where they're very good at surviving in minecraft so having a new mechanic and additional danger factor in the form of the wild cards was cool and kept things new. the final wildcard being what it was means that they could put what they previously learned to use but keeping the unpredictable element.

the life series has always had a limited lifespan (a limited amount of lives, if you will) but gimmicks being added wasn't a death knell.

Glinda really had an entire musical number expounding on the theme of "success in life is not about being highly qualified or even competent, but manipulating people's superficial perception of you." and then she went into POLITICS. truly the #girlboss representation the world has earned

If your plot feels flat, STUDY it! Your story might be lacking...

Stakes - What would happen if the protagonist failed? Would it really be such a bad thing if it happened?

Thematic relevance - Do the events of the story speak to a greater emotional or moral message? Is the conflict resolved in a way that befits the theme?

Urgency - How much time does the protagonist have to complete their goal? Are there multiple factors complicating the situation?

Drive - What motivates the protagonist? Are they an active player in the story, or are they repeatedly getting pushed around by external forces? Could you swap them out for a different character with no impact on the plot? On the flip side, do the other characters have sensible motivations of their own?

Yield - Is there foreshadowing? Do the protagonist's choices have unforeseen consequences down the road? Do they use knowledge or clues from the beginning, to help them in the end? Do they learn things about the other characters that weren't immediately obvious?

don't present androgynously

use "binary" pronouns in any capacity

identify partially with a binary gender

have a "gendered" name

don't experience body dysmorphia

don't experience gender dysphoria

DO experience gender dysphoria/body dysmorphia but aren't sure what gender or body would suit them

just experience body/gender apathy instead

can't be open about their gender identity yet

you're all absolutely valid.

don't ever feel like you're "not nonbinary enough" because you absolutely are! 💖

People being anti LGBTQ+ in the Undertale fandom will always be funny to me because. have. have you played the game. y’know, Undertale. I don’t think you’ve played the game. you cannot convince me that you have actually played Undertale and liked it enough to be in the fandom and still be like this. what do you mean you’re transphobic the literal main character of the game is nonbinary-
