hobbies :                 SHOPPING & FASHION - a hobby of most socialites, adelaide has been shopping at the three b’s as long as she could remember - barneys, berdorf’s and bendels. while one has since closed, that’s hardly stopped her from filling her apartment with more clothes, shoes, accessories and decorations than one person could possibly need. she prefers going and shopping in person - despite the constant use of the internet in her life, online shopping has never been able to replicate the feeling of going into a store and finding the perfect thing.                  TRAVEL - with a mother from iran and a father from france, adelaide grew up traveling her entire life. though they centered their live in new york city, vacations to visit family around the world or just see new places was commonplace for the laurent family. nowadays, adelaide travels mostly on her own or with a close friend if available, prefering to explore various stops in europe or anywhere warm.                  READING - going to a competitive private school, adelaide had to be the smartest of all her peers in order to manage to obtain her ivy acceptance. as such, she was an avid reader - for both work and pleasure. she’s since parlayed her passion into a career; she’s a junior agent at an up and coming publishing house located in new york where she finds authors who want to become the next big thing and helps promote them.                  PARTY PLANNING - though she hasn’t gotten to do it nearly as often as she did in high school, adelaide was always an incredible party planner. whether for pleasure or various charities that she helped out, party planning was a passion she never truly outgrew. nowadays, she focuses the energy into planning opening launches for the writers who work for her, as well as assisting with a few charities she’s stayed close to over the years.                 TENNIS - while she started playing at age 9 to give her an edge on her applications to college, she was nationally ranked as a teenager and continued to play casually while at yale. these days, she plays when she can fit it in ( at least once a month ) but has too busy a schedule to dedicate to it like she once did.

height : 5′4 ( * a/n - i’m aware her faceclaim is taller, but adelaide is shorter. )  tattoos : none.  scars : small chickenpox scar behind her left ear from age three, appendix removal scar from age eight.  piercings : one in each ear - usual seen wearing pearls or small jewels, switches it up to funky earrings on nights out on the town when she lets her hair down ( metaphorically )  hair : dark brown, past her shoulders - usually straightened and down, with occasional headbands or pins keeping it in place. has only dyed her hair once ( blonde, from a box, during an emotional breakdown ) and has since had it stripped to be her natural color. will curl it or put it into elaborate styles depending on the event she’s heading to.  fashion :               work - bright colored suits and dresses, demanding attention onto her by way of her clothing. she chose to move into the literary world without help of her family name, and wants to move up by her own merit. part of her determination is by wearing classy, sophisticated outfits even when a lot of her peers wear teeshirts and jeans.                personal - there is no style that adelaide hasn’t been able to pull off; while she wore a uniform for twelve years, she’s since made up for it by dabbling in all genres of clothing since she started at yale. she tends to prefer what she always had, though - skirts and blouses, sweaters and dark jeans, usually in simple colors or plaid patterns.                shoes - the one thing she’s obsessed with more than anything else, she has an entire closet dedicated to her shoes. she prefers heels more than anything, to give her additional height. her shoes, like all of her clothes, come from high luxury brands, most of which come from her two favorites - louboutin and manolo blahnik. she does have a few pairs of cheap shoes, including dollar flip flops from the drugstore that she has hidden in a drawer but remind her of a special vacation in college.

Adelaide laurent was the first child born to a prominent lawyer and society hostess. while her parents were absent ( whose weren’t? ) she was sent to the best schools, the best tutors, and had the highest ambitions. while her classmates were enjoying their childhood, adelaide had one goal in mind : yale university. as long as she could remember, that was the dream, and she did everything she could to get there.

not to say she didn’t know how to have fun; despite spending most of her teen years running from SAT training to tennis lessons to various charity committees, she could let her hair down and unwind just like all the rest. in fact, because she was better than all the rest, some could say she went further than the others. there was the affair with her ( unbeknownst to her ) married yale alumni interviewer, the rumors that floated about the nature of her relationship with a certain golden girl, and of course her on again / off again relationship with our resident prince - all of which were well documented across our favorite gossip website. leaving it all behind to start a new life at yale, adelaide said ‘au revoir’ to the only friends she’d ever really known, disappearing into a new life of the upper echelon of academics. she spent the next five years in new haven, focusing on her double major of psychology and french, though there was never any real plan for what to do after graduation. she’d spent her whole life thinking about one thing - get the school, get the man, have the dream life. except now, at twenty five, she’s realized that there’s a lot more life to live - and currently, there’s no plan in place for how to navigate it. though the rest of her family has moved to los angeles, adelaide’s found herself back where she belongs: in manhattan, trying to rule a different scene. using her degrees as a junior literary agent was a stretch, but she’s a laurent - and new york has always treated them better than most.
