Moved here in 2006 from Seattle wa. Wanted to get away from the rain. Thought vegas was close to cali.

Who are your customers?
I have a wide range of customers– from 20-60 years old. We offer a few different services to bring in all ages.
What would you like for people to know about your business?
Purple Sunrise Tanning Salon and Spa is a very unique.–not your corporate tanning salon. You are called by name not just a number. We all want to change the world right… well let’s do it together!
What advice would you give the next person in your position or looking at our position?
If you really truly know what you want go after it.
Can you share something about yourself that may inspire others? It can be anything.
I grew up very poor, without much in my life. I told myself when I was younger that I will never live this way ever again! When I get older I’m gonna be wealthy. Well whatever we put out there, I believe we get in life. I believed in myself from when I was 7 years old, and I have had BIG HUGE DREAMS ever since. People would always tell me, “You’re such a dreamer”. That didn’t stop me from dreaming and believing. To this day, I still dream big and have huge aspirations. I believe if you don’t have goals and dreams, you aren’t living. So I tell people not to listen to the haters, because they obviously want something that you have. Haters are lost souls with no dreams. So keep being you! You are Amazing!
How can our audience help your business succeed?
If I can inspire someone or help them build their dream that is the most important to me. When you people get what you want … you get what you want.

Social Media Marketing Done Right by Jesse Olive
Social Media in The Beginning
While social media marketing has become its own discipline of digital marketing, it is a fairly simple concept to understand when comparing it to other digital marketing disciplines, such as search engine optimization. The definition of social media per Google is, “websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.” What many may not realize is the concept of social media existed decades before we began calling it social media, before many businesses were using it as a means for marketing and even before the internet ever existed.
How is that possible? Well, many individuals like myself used to call each other’s computers through modems and would interact and exchange information via bulletin board systems (BBS). Per Wikipedia, “Bulletin board systems were in many ways a precursor to the modern form of the World Wide Web, social networks and other aspects of the Internet”. Then came the internet which brought on more social media such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger and AOL. Those are all forms of social media that many of us used to use. Dating sites? Yes. Forums? Yes. If you can use communication web sites or applications other than email to share content or network with others, it is and was social media.
Enter Social Media Marketing
Many of us used to use these applications, and still do, along with newer social media sites such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. We spend a lot of time on these applications sharing content and responding to content. Yet, so many of us who use social media for personal reasons feel as though we don’t have the time to utilize it for social media marketing–using social media to generate exposure for our business and/or products and services. My question to those people is, “Is it really time? Or is it about knowledge and discipline?” Now, I know many of you out there don’t use social media. Some of you hate it, or don’t believe it works. Well, there’s nothing I can say to those who hate it, other than maybe it will change your mind if you learn how to use it to impact their businesses. Maybe that doesn’t matter, but I am sure they have their reasons. I believe that few of those people are reading this blog right now anyways. If you are one of those people and you are reading this article, maybe you are realizing you can’t avoid it which should tell you something about the power of social media. If you don’t think it works, well my response to you is that you are both right and wrong. The FACT is it CAN and DOES work for many companies that employ or outsource an individual or team of individuals that know how to do it right.
Doing Social Media Marketing Right
Here is where the guidelines to social media marketing get tricky. Like many things, there is more than one way to skin a cat. So, when it comes to social media marketing, how do you know you are doing it right? Well, many times you don’t unless you are generating performance reports and analyzing the data within them. That is where you start. ANY legitimate marketing professional should be able to provide you with performance reports and interpret them for you. If you don’t have the time to look at them, then you may want to question how serious YOU are about your marketing efforts before questioning them. If you don’t have the time, then you better make sure that your marketing professional is in tune with the data and you had better trust them.
Jesse Olive – Founder of Vegas Walls & Social Media Marketing Expert
Obviously, “doing it right” when it comes to social media marketing goes beyond reporting and analytics. “Doing it right” means more than likes. It means more than comments. It means more than shares. These are all good signs you are headed in the right direction, but likes, shares and comments don’t necessarily mean the time spent on social media is impacting your bottom line. “Doing it right” means the content you share leaves an impression in your audience’s head about your brand. “Doing it right” often should drive your audience to respond to a certain call for action. “Doing it right” means your social media efforts should play a role in an overarching integrated marketing strategy. Yes, the effectiveness of social media marketing is also determined by marketing factors outside of itself. This is where an integrated marketing strategist can help you make the most of your social media efforts and add value to multiple areas of your business, as opposed to simply acquiring likes, shares and comments.
To recap, “doing it right” with regards to social media essentially means that if you hire or outsource a social media “expert”, ensure their role is an integral part of your overarching integrated marketing strategy. I often get people who ask me to help them with their social media only. If I learn they do not have a marketing strategy in place and they do not have other areas of their marketing efforts already covered, I am usually reluctant to take on the project. Why? Because, “doing it right” sets everyone up to succeed.

Inside Vegas Walls - "Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will."
How did you end up in Las Vegas? This is actually a very interesting story. I was in Knoxville, TN and my second business that I had built was paralyzed by two key factors. One, a prominent client owed us a large amount of money after spending weeks on their project but had yet to pay. Two, the economy crash prevented my VP and financial backer from being able to focus on the business because commercial real estate was now selling for half the price and he had to generate more volume in order to support his family. He had to do what he had to do, and so did I. The hunt was on. Several openings came up, but none of them were at the pay scale that I knew I was worth. I kept turning down positions, and as you can imagine, it made my family and those in my inner circle nervous, but I believed enough in myself to hold out. Sure enough, I landed a marketing consulting position in Knoxville, TN with the 2nd largest real estate company in the city. That consulting position set me on the next leg of my journey. I met the CEO of their tech provider (who happened to be based out of Las Vegas, NV), and he immediately offered me a position that would begin as soon as my consulting contract completed. This was a big decision to make. I would be leaving behind my family, lifelong friends and my home to take a chance on myself and move to a city where I didn't know a soul. I never thought of moving to Las Vegas, but without a wife, kids or even a girlfriend, I knew this was the time to try. I'm so glad that I did, because my career and experience have skyrocketed since then. Why did you decide to start your own business or work for your current business? The truth is that I started Vegas Walls as a project, because I discovered Las Vegas has so much more to offer than most people think. I wanted to share what I found not only with the people back home who thought I was crazy for moving to Las Vegas, but also everyone else that didn’t understand exactly what Las Vegas has to offer. Don’t get me wrong. Las Vegas can be a tough (and transient) town in some respects, but it is also a place where I have grown tremendously, discovered so many hidden gems and met some amazing people. I felt compelled to share that with the world. That being said, I believe in turning passion into greatness. Why not see if a hobby or a project can grow legs? It could mean turning a dream into reality. So, I began to float the concept with my network and found that they loved the idea, and now the “project” seems to be growing legs and getting a second wind. Who are your customers? I focus mostly on small to medium sized businesses (SMB). However, it can also be individuals who are looking to promote themselves or even particular events - we can get a little creative. Our group is growing, so we are able to fill some gaps for larger companies. It just depends on the need. We are flexible and scale-able by design. As stated on my website, through the Vegas Walls Project, we hope to also be able to help businesses that never pay us a dime. I don’t just want my own business to succeed. I want friends and colleagues to succeed as well. It is my hope and belief that looking out for each other will benefit the group. Talk about turning a dream into reality. What does your business or your employer offer to your potential customer? I will keep this answer short. Vision. Strategy. Creativity. Exposure. Traffic. Leads. Conversion. Let's talk. I know there is something we can do for you. What would you like for people to know about your business? That my team is focused on Las Vegas Marketing. Some of us grew up here. We love this city and not only want to succeed in it, but give back to it… be a part of it. What advice would you give the next person in your position or looking at your position? That’s a hard one. I can’t say I would project my life or decisions on anyone. Instead, I will keep with the spirit of the project and share what my ailing Papa instilled in me since I can remember - never give up. It has served me well. Can you share something about yourself that may inspire others? It can be anything. I initially created this outline as an opportunity to discover something that the reader can identify with from each person that was kind enough to fill it out. Now that I am answering my own questionnaire, well, I can say I’m not asking anyone else to answer any questions that I have not. I’m not going to take the safe route. Otherwise, Vegas Walls would have no concept. That is where the “human” aspect of the word "Walls" comes into play. I just read an article this morning that a respected colleague and influence in my life, Jeremy Floyd, wrote. In fact, it was the first thing I did when I opened my eyes. I checked my phone, saw an email from him (I subscribe to his newsletter) and it happened to be an article about fear. I have many fears, but I am slowly conquering them one by one. In doing so, I have become more successful, accomplished and courageous. One of my greatest fears is public speaking. Believe it or not, every position I have held in Las Vegas, NV has required me to tackle public speaking in some form. I have a feeling, I am not done with that, and I am grateful for the opportunities I was given to grow in that area. As my friend’s article states, “Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will.” How can our audience help your business or your employer succeed? I ask that you will share our content and advocate for the brand. We don’t pretend to be perfect, but we ARE a group of genuine people with a genuine mission that goes beyond putting money in our pockets. We want to help local businesses succeed and are currently working on a project that can help struggling (or little known) businesses gain exposure when they would otherwise be unable to do so. From something as specific as Las Vegas search engine optimization to a full-service marketing strategy, we can plug into your business and will produce only quality work. So, if you know someone who might be interested in our service offerings, please tell them about us. All I ask for in the beginning is the opportunity to sit down and discuss your business or theirs. Together, we can make your dreams a reality.

The Reel Lab – Video Production & Storytelling
vimeo
TRL 2013 Demo Reel from The Reel Lab on Vimeo.
How did you end up in Vegas? My parents hooked up in Las Vegas in 1969 and made me a few years later. I have been a native ever since :) Why did you decide to start your own business or work for your current business? I initially created The Reel Lab because of my passion for music. I wanted to put music to imagery, tell great stories and always had a strong desire to try something new. One of my core beliefs is that everyone has a story to tell and at the very least, deserve to have an epic movie trailer to help tell that story. Who are your customers? Our customers to date cover the gamut from photographing family events, to documenting protest rallies, to video production for some of the biggest companies in the world. Venetian/Palazzo is a return customer for capture of their celebrity blackjack tournaments. We have also produced web series ads for Westin Resorts, as well as produced highlight and promo films for countless clients over the past six years. What does your business or your employer offer to your potential customer? We offer photography, thoughtful video storytelling, plus creative video promotions/advertisements for your business and family. What would you like for people to know about your business? Storytelling is a team sport. The Reel Lab boasts partnering with some of the most professional and talented content producers in the industry. We have the ability to be nimble and efficient throughout the life-cycle of your production. We will help you get your point across and effectively endear you your audience. What advice would you give the next person in your position or looking at your position? If you truly enjoy creating content as a profession, you must work hard at it. It's not for the faint-of-heart. There will be victories and challenges almost weekly. Being creative for a living is one way to enjoy the freedoms of entrepreneurship, but you have to consider the business aspect as a HUGE part of that work. Even after six years in this biz, it is something I often struggle with. Sometimes you must do what you thought you could never do (like public speaking). You must constantly cultivate and strengthen a network of creatives and friends that can help on productions as well as vouch for your work and character. Also, Get everything in writing. Can you share something about yourself that may inspire others? It can be anything. I believe in my love for putting imagery to music. I decided, later than most in life, to pursue it for a living (no matter how fearful it made me at times). How can our audience help your business or your employer succeed? I think the biggest help would be to just mention or recommend us to your friends. Perhaps you could share a few of The Reel Lab's videos on your favorite social media platform. Tell everyone what great people we are… Keep it simple :) Visit The Reel Lab Online.
