You say “I wish I could’ve been the one to make you whole.” Yet you stand there and do nothing as the void inside of me widens.
You say you want to protect me and provide for me, but how do you expect to keep me safe when you don’t have the ability to keep me safe emotionally?
When I become insecure I’m met with frustration and sighs of exasperation. How is that being a strong man?
Tell me. What kind of man wants a woman to be insecure and an emotional wreck? What kind of man is only able to offer the supposed “love of his life” inconsistency? What kind of man cannot tell his woman what he wants and when he wants it?
And when he puts her in this constant state of distress, how does he expect her to submit to him? How does he expect her to remain soft when she has to be the one to protect herself by doing all of the emotional labor?
What do you think happens when his behavior hardens her? He eventually loses her.
To love is to protect, physically and emotionally.

Staying in a relationship just because you love someone is not worth it. love is not all you need. Respect is what you need. Time is what you need. Reassurance is what you need. Happiness is what you need. A bestfriend is what you need.

I think it was the way you didn’t want me in your shirt that gave me the ick. The way I got upset and you scrambled to find me a shirt with a hole in the armpit. That’s all I’ll ever be worth to you.
With him, he’d give me his favorite without worry of it being ruined.
The night prior, it was the way I had to give YOU reassurance for something you know makes me feel insecure and unwanted. You couldn’t offer that either.
Now it’s the way I’m not worthy of security.
It’s like I’m constantly reminded of how little I mean, but I’m stuck and refuse to wake up.
You’ll never be able to offer me anything I need. At all. It’s all a lie. Anything you have to offer is a lie.
