I'm sitting in an empty conference room, waiting for the senior art director to hop on this zoom call. Thinking about me at 20 years old, using tumblr as my personal mood board, my journal, and the place I felt safe sharing these weird photos I had started taking. I didn't have any deadlines. I didn't have any experience with editing or lighting. I didn't have any clients. I had a cheap camera, a couple friends, and some free time. Thinking about that kid in this moment. Not sure why. Maybe because I have a birthday in 4 days. Or maybe the walls of this conference room are closing in on me. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi.

lol wow, thats cool. I remember this. It was my first time going to afropunk. I highkey wasn't even a "photographer" yet. I was writing a review on afropunk for the blog I was working for and just took these photos randomly and they highkey started a whole new career for me.

I don't know this beautiful woman, but I hope she's doing well too.
