IMUS CITY, CAVITE, PHILIPPINES - Farmers harvest grains in a small rice farm along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway in Imus City, Cavite.  The small farm is ironically situated just across a modern shopping mall by called The District and an enormous traffic jam.

I decided to take the bus home that afternoon from the Lyceum of the Philippines University in Cavite where I had a photography talk. I jumped right off it as soon as I was presented with this humble scenery.  It reminded me so much of home, of childhood, and of how simple life used to be. PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES -- Undeterred and Weatherproof. Employees in Ortigas Business District cross a heavily flooded Garnet Road Tuesday night, 8 September 2015 when rain poured excessively for several hours over Metro Manila which later caused monstrous traffic jams in the city's major thoroughfares, leaving hundreds of frustrated motorists and commuters trying to get home stranded on the roads until past midnight.

EDSA, PHILIPPINES - I saw a lot of confusion, frustration, and anger as commuters desperately try to get on the next available bus just to be home on Friday night, 28 August 2015. Traffic jam worsened when members of a religious sect Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) gathered in Metro Manila's major thoroughfares particularly in EDSA Shaw Boulevard all the way to EDSA Shrine to protest against the Department of Justice and rallied on the separation of church and state. Metro Manila Shake Drill

ORTIGAS CBD, Pasig City - Rescue Team await orders from their team head in a temporary Logistics Station set up in front of the Philippine Stock Exchange during a nighttime earthquake drill held in Ortigas Centre. Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) along with government agencies, schools, businesses, and religious organizations conducted a simultaneous Metro-wide Earthquake Drill on July 30, 2015.

I’m Peter Pan. 

I believe in magic dust and happy thoughts and that one can just stitch his own shadow back to himself when it runs around clumsily. At least that’s how easy I thought life was when I was kid. And how I wish everything around us is indeed as easy as that.  Yet my attachment to shadows, like Peter Pan, never grows old.

Today, it plays an important role in my vision as a photographer. Shadow, stitched together with the right amount of highlight, form, and emotion provides sense of depth to a story I’m trying to capture and deliver. And as for magic dust and happy thoughts, I have my family and friends portraying them now.

Flood Is Coming 

MANDALUYONG CITY, Philippines. A welder in a major flood control project in Mandaluyong City works persistently despite a heavy downpour on Saturday, July 4, 2015 as typhoon Egay (Int'l: Linfa) batters provinces in Northern Luzon. 

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) hopes to complete the joint project within the year. MMDA warns that delays in the completion will cause major traffic jams and worsen flooding in the cities’ affected areas.
