Is Media necessary for Globalization?
Globalization—the integration of businesses, cultures, and societies—is influenced by many factors. However, media, through television, radio, newspapers, and the internet, plays a pivotal role as a means of information, ideas, and cultural exchange across borders. News, entertainment, and education content are transmitted very rapidly, bridging geographical spaces and making the world more connected than ever before. Media plays an intense role in globalization. It motivates the free flow of ideas across cultures, economic integration, and awareness in the political arena. Through media, more diversified views and cultures are opened to the people for better recognition in the global community. For instance, international news channels give a person time-to-time information about events other than areas in which he or she resides.Â
Through social media, communication has been transformed in that it can be observed that people from all over the world connect with their friends, share experiences, and collaborate on different projects. Media, therefore, enabled diffusion of technology and innovation, amongst others. Knowledge becomes broadcast to every corner of the globe through school programs and Internet courses. The tool beats down every barrier in education. Companies use media platforms to target and penetrate international markets through products and services. This has led to unmatched trade and investments that spur economic growth and development.Â
Without globalization, media would not be of anything. It improves communication and understanding between people from different cultures and drives economic and social growth. The ability to share information easily and quickly has changed how we live, work, and even interact with one another. To me, media has been incredibly helpful in making us more independent in accessing information and staying connected. It is very hard to imagine living without it now since it has been an inseparable aspect of our lives. I regard the functions of media in bringing awareness to people globally and unifying individuals across the globe. It is necessary to embrace the good aspects of media and make considerations of the possible negative aspects for one to fully exploit the potential offered by media in the course of globalization activities.

What If Brexit Works?
Observation Brexit, a British decision to quit the European Union is one of the most discussed topics. The exercise has technically come to an end on January 31, 2020, while its consequences are still being unleashed. Observe the affairs of the day and several key points emerge. Economically, trade volumes with the EU have been lost with the emergence of more non-tariff barriers, and disruptions in various sectors. Politically, Brexit has changed the relationship of the United Kingdom to the European Union significantly, and it has impacted contemporary politics in many ways because of the issues of sovereignty and immigration. Socially, people are divided; some appear to regret the move while others believe it was essential to regain national power. Insights Whether Brexit has or will work is a question that remains multifaceted and complex. For the advocates, Brexit opened the door to a place where the UK can regain control over its sovereignty and law as well as independent negotiation for trade treaties. Such long-term advantages will therefore balance out the near-term economic shocks. On the other hand, critics argue that the economic negative side effects appear in the form of the economic loss it will accrue in comparison to staying in the EU, with an estimated 4% drop in GDP. They also lead on to continuing political and social schisms in the country. Whether Brexit will succeed or not will considerably depend on how well the UK adjusts to its new status, extracts its independence for economic growth, and heals the societal splits opened. Learning From the Brexit experience, several lessons can be drawn. Major decisions that have an impact on the very fabric of society should not occur without a publicly run process to any large extent. First, the Brexit referendum exposed vast lacunas in the public's knowledge about the EU and what it would really mean to leave. Second, it has been made clear that strategic planning and negotiation skills are essential in international affairs. The protracted negotiations and the mixed results of trade agreements express the complexity of untangling from a prolonged economic partnership. Last but not least, Brexit teaches us about the robustness and flexibility of nations. Despite these setbacks, however, the UK now has an opportunity to rethink its place in the world and more so within its global strategies. Only time will tell if Brexit is successful or not, but this is one journey that is of significant learning on governance and international relations as much as with the power of public opinion.

My Own Idea and Perceptions on Globalization.Â
Observation
There’s so many definitions of globalization, and it’s hard to define, but globalization for me is how different norms and societies influence our beliefs, culture, politics, etc. On how globalization can help us adapt norms for better learning. My initial understanding of globalization was that it primarily involved economic exchanges and trade between countries. I also recognized that globalization influenced cultural exchanges, leading to a blending of traditions, languages, and lifestyles.
Insight
After completing the mind mapping activity on globalization with my classmates, as instructed by Sir Geoffrey Cruz, I had an “aha” moment when I realized that globalization is not just about economic and cultural exchanges. It also significantly impacts our beliefs, politics, and societal norms. This broader perspective helped me understand how globalization can foster diversity and inclusivity by exposing us to different ways of thinking and living. It also highlighted the importance of adapting to new norms for better learning and personal growth.
Learning
The new learning and understanding of globalization has led me to several questions and areas for future exploration. That globalization does not only focus on economic trading; it can be many things. Now I’m curious: how can we leverage globalization to promote more inclusive and equitable societies? What are the potential downsides of globalization, and how can we mitigate them? Additionally, I am curious about how globalization will continue to evolve and shape our world in the coming years. These questions will guide my future learning and understanding on this topic.
