have i ever told y’all about the greatest moment of my academic career

i was a freshman in college and i had this history teacher who was ~edgy~ and his hotness level on ratemyprofessor was off the charts and he was the first teacher i ever heard use the word “fuck.” anyway he would do this thing every so often where we’d have a “quiz” and the first two questions were always really easy and the last one was hard - they were all similar questions, and the point was to show what you learn about history and what you don’t. 

so one day he’s like okay kids time for a quiz and the first question was who killed abraham lincoln. the second question was who killed JFK. third question was who killed william mckinley. 

we all take a few minutes and write down our answers, and then the teacher asks the questions again so we can shout out the answers. everybody answered the first two with really no problem.

now, keep in mind that this class was at 9 a.m. and i was exhausted All The Time during my freshman year of college so i sat in the back in my sweats and never said a word and the teacher definitely had no clue who i was. 

so you can imagine his surprise when he asked the class who shot william mckinley and without missing a beat i said, “czolgosz,” pronounced correctly and everything. 

my teacher froze and in a very stern voice asked, “what was that? what did someone just say?”

i repeated: czolgosz.

my teacher: “who said that?”

i raised my hand, and my super cool history teacher glared at me. he then asked me how the hell i knew the answer. he said that in the TWENTY YEARS he’d been teaching this stupid class, nobody, not A SINGLE PERSON, had ever known the answer to that question.

i then had to quietly explain to a room full of people that there’s a musical called assassins and there’s a song about czolgosz shooting william mckinley at the great pan american exposition in buffaloooooooo (in buffaloooooooo)

I never played the original, so I’m super excited for FoMT! I just pre-ordered it straight from XSeed’s store. I can’t wait to meet all the characters! I’d love for all of the older games to get a remake/remaster.

Whenever I marry someone in Harvest Moon or Rune Factory, majority of the time I just have them call me my name, because if you select a nickname/petname they never call you by your actual name ever again and I think that sucks, lol. I would like the nicknames/petnames if your spouse would also refer to you by your real name from time to time too.

i don’t have a switch but i don’t wanna miss out in the new game’s release either. i’ve been playing hm for almost 20 years now and i’m so upset i’m probably gonna miss out on playing during release because of scalpers.

I feel like I’m the only Story of Seasons fan who doesn’t completely hate Natsume’s guts. I understand how they’re the worst for taking the Harvest Moon name and actually trying to take advantage of that, but I like to give their games a chance because that just means more farming simulators for me especially since games like those are so rare to find and actually enjoy. While I’m extremely excited for the Friends of Mineral Town remake, I’m also kind of curious about the New World game and can’t wait to see screenshots and gameplay when they’re announced.

I have to admit, I’m actually kind of excited for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, especially since I can play it on PC when it comes out there soon. Gift giving has come back, there’s no more terraforming, it looks like Natsume actually wants to expand on the characters they created and make them somewhat more interesting, and I do kinda like the simplistic character designs. Plus, I’m just a sucker for more Harvest Moon, even if this one isn’t the official HM.

I really want Marvelous to stop with the fake difficulty already. Making everything expensive doesn’t make gameplay more exciting, it just leads to a lot of annoying grinding. If they really want to give us a challenge, they need to start thinking beyond resource hording, or maybe just… not? try to make it difficult? It’s a farming sim, I’m not here for a challenge I’m here to relax!

I will fight anyone who tries to claim that RF4 Special is nothing more than a “cash grab” or is “soulless” or whatnot. Seeing my favorite game get remastered still means the world to me, and I still think the special version is important for signifying the revival of the series.

Also it’s a remaster, it wasn’t supposed to be a whole new game- we have RF5 for that.
