How could we make this about genere's violence? Josh and that awful man ages ago.. Maddie and Dough.. Bobby and his past with alcool.. Buck surely bothered with his Kid's experience of neglect.. And at the end our wonderful Eds..
about Buck and Tommy's relationship hurdle in the 8x06 episode:
- it's about Tommy's past but unrelated to anything we've seen before (no Gerrard then)
- Buck will spiral about it
- he'll ask for advice from Bobby (who's more experienced)
- he'll also seek Maddie's advice and Josh will join in (even though he's not particularly close to Buck. so his input must be based on... experience?), and about this Oliver said: "[the conversation] has a profound meaning beyond 911"
this is very intriguing and I'm very curious to know what is this about and I can't believe I have to wait two weeks to find out! 馃槶馃槄

Need to mention this cause i think i didnt see anyone mention it. Theres one still (both really but one is more obvious) where tmmy is looking down at buck. That striked me as a very literal metaphor.
Oh, but honey I am SO with you. There's something about the way Buck looks up at his love interests while in crisis, and to see that made me go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because they are making something about their dynamic clear in a metaphorical way. And to have that moment where he's looking up at Tommy is interesting. Especially because it hasn't happened before, they tend to be on the same level, so they are misaligning here. Especially if Tommy is weirded out by the boils on Buck's face, this could be interesting, because it is another moment where Buck is vulnerable where he's not meeting Buck.
And I need to make this about buddie, sorry. A problem with buddie was that Buck looks up at Eddie when he's emotionally vulnerable, but if the conversation is about Eddie, they are on the same level. It's a bad pattern that they started to break during season 7, we got Eddie looking up at Buck and then them on the same level while Buck is feeling vulnerable with the coming out scene.
I wrote about 28472348097 metas on this but I have a point I promise, the buddie still intrigues me because I can't figure out why would they be shaking hands, so I'm kinda wondering if this isn't Eddie helping Buck up.
Which could be fun to play with it considering Eddie seems to be going all medic on Buck, to have Eddie take care of him and then "lift" him up, it would be symbolic in many ways to show that contrast. Sorry, I got lost in the sauce, I'm 100% with you, it does seem like the looking down on Buck is literal.

I know this is going to be hella controversial -
But I keep coming across bummies posts where they talk about Buck's crush on Tommy and that fantastic connection they formed (in the all of twenty minutes tops they had on screen with two kisses and a badly timed joke),
And I'm thinking, what crush? Tommy kissed Buck because he struck out with Eddie and Buck was available, Buck realized he likes kissing boys and the attention,
And thought 'we're here, we're apparently queer, let's give this a go.'
There was nothing there besides need for attention and curiousity.
He wasn't getting the emotional attention he needed so he reverted to the physical, in true S1 style with male Abby.
So again what crush??
This is my take anyway, and not rewatching or rehearsing the situation has convinced me otherwise.

Do Buck and Eddie know they were screaming each other's names like that?

Honestly, the fact that I didn't fall into the 911 fandom sooner is astonishing. Somehow never even heard of it until this season??? And I didn't even decide to start watching for the queer stuff! I decided to start watching when I saw the teasers about the cruise ship arc! The queer stuff was a bonus.
Anywho. As soon as I heard "Let it Burn" by Jared Benjamin I HAD to do some Buck fanart inspired by it. Really thrilled with how it turned out. Matches what I had in my head perfectly. All told this took about 28 hours. (1 hour of which was fighting with Premiere Pro to get it to export properly and not end up a glitchy mess. So sick of Adobe programs.)
I'll upload all the individual pieces later when I no longer feel the urge to chuck my computer out the window.

Sure thing happening.. This and protecting Chris.
Can we just talk about the fact that now Buck will obviously blame himself for Eddie's condition?
For being so obsessed with his new romantic interest that he missed the alarm bells coming from Eddie again.
For being sure that Eddie was okay when in fact he's completely falling apart.
For Eddie being sick, but he didn't feel it necessary to tell Buck about it because he didn't want to burden him and interfere with his happiness.
For the fact that his relationship is alienating him from Eddie.
For the fact that Eddie is on the verge of a nervous breakdown again, and he just didn't notice it.
And Eddie will tell him that it's not his fault, but Buck won't be able to believe him, seeing that his friend, the love of his life, is losing himself.

It's interesting how Buck's love interests are all written in a way that ends because of the reason they meet/happen in the first place and then of course, we have Eddie.
Abby, who changes Buck's view of a healthy relationship but then turns around and ghosts him, making him wait for months on end and letting him realize she's not coming back on his own.
Ali, who meets Buck during a dangerous situation in his line of work and then leaves him for how dangerous his work is.
Taylor, who lashes out at Buck for using her as a fake date and saying she thought she could trust Buck to be a friend who then ends up using him for her career and chose to put his friends in danger.
Natalia, who's there to help him embrace and deal with his temporary death but it leads to their break up because of the constant talk surrounding death when Buck's not comfortable with it.
We can't confirm for Tommy till it ends but it's important to note how he offers to get Buck into his interests like flying and muay thai yet doesn't show effort with Buck's interests like dressing up according to the bachelor party theme despite Buck being stressed about it. And we also have the fact that the entire reason they got together was due to Buck's jealousy for Eddie which he then claims to be was for Tommy. Makes me think they are either going to end because of differing interests OR because of the jealousy issue popping up again.
Funnily enough, every scene above has an Eddie parallel:
Eddie co-parents with Buck and not only does this not stop after a dangerous event but Eddie also has Buck down as a legal guardian (healthy relationship - Abby).
Eddie is in the same dangerous line of work and they have each other's backs. This happens right off the bat too.(dangerous job - Ali).
The Lawsuit era and The Dispatch era - both where they "betray" each other but manage to work through it (betrayal/lie - Taylor).
Eddie doesn't pressure Buck to talk about his temporary death until Buck's ready and is more focused about him living than in his death (death doula - Natalia).
Eddie who has different interests than Buck (poker, basketball and UFC/MMA) but also manages to show interest and actively takes part in whatever Buck comes up with; he suggests their outfit for the themed party AND ends up staying there for Buck even when others leave (different hobbies & showing interest/taking part - Tommy).
Absolutely fascinating when you start noticing that Buck's relationships keep failing for one reason or another and then we have him and Eddie who face the same sort of situations but they still come out of it stronger together.
It's clear that there's a reason Buck is able to overcome anything when it comes to Eddie (that conversation with Maddie about being there for each other even at their worst 馃憖) and we've already established that everything Eddie looks for in a partner is already something he has found in Buck. So really, all that's left is for them to realize that hey, the one I'm looking for is right in front of me! 馃し馃徑
And yes, it's been said to death (hah) but you don't find it son you make it. And Buck and Eddie have already made it.
