"She did, yes. Though she caught a small cold while we were there. She was fine in a couple of days though. Nothing to worry about."

"And Lady Edith?" Anna asked. "Did she seem to have a good time, m’lady?"

"Princess, you and I are only spending the holidays here. How about tomorrow, while everyone is going about their business, I'll take you into York. That might be nice."

"Why is everything around Yorkshire beyond boring? At least there are things to do in London."

"Quite well, thank you, Cousin Matthew. How are you enjoying your life at Downton?" she asked, reaching out at lightly shaking his hand. "I always find it very beautiful, even after spending the first 19 and a half years of my life there. The entirety of my childhood, until I married and moved to London."

"Who are you?"

"Lord Grantham’s sister, Lady Rosamund. Also the aunt of Lady Mary, Lady Edith and Lady Sybil. You must be the new heir I’ve heard all about."

"I did enjoy Switzerland. It was very beautiful and... clean," she replied with a small smile, hoping that the young maid would remain oblivious to the real purpose of the trip to Switzerland that she had taken with her niece.

"Certainly m'lady," Anna assured Lady Rosamund. "Did you enjoy Switzerland then?"

“Can't I give you a present for no particular reason, princess?” Rosamund asked, regarding her daughter holding the kitten with a smile gracing her features. “I'm glad you love him, I hoped that you would especially since when I saw him, I knew I had to take him in for you. Are you going to name him?” She tried to think of names that Amelia might give the kitten, but her mind came up blank except for the names that kittens typically got, like Boots or Patches. But in knowing her daughter, Rosamund had a suspicion that Amelia would give her precious (or as she called him, perfect) kitten a very special name, she was a very thoughtful young lady after all.

"A present? For me? But why?" The girl asked, her eyes dancing with excitement. Amelia felt her hand shaking a bit with anticipation as she crawled to the foot of the bed. Quickly, she fumbled with the top of the basket, placing it to side, however, quickly, a squeal of excitement. "Mummy!!!! A kitten!" The girl took the small ginger cat, a baby blue ribbon around his neck, small meows escaping it’s mouth. Amelia cuddled him closely, being gentle enough as to not squeeze him to tightly, just as she did with her baby dolls. "He’s perfect mama!"

Rosamund opened the door and picked up the basket. She smiled at her adopted daughter lightly and placed the basket on the bed. “Good morning princess. A present for you; I was going to wait until later, but there's no problem with now, is there?” she asked. “I do hope you like it.”

Amelia laid sprawled out in her large, king sized, four poster bed, her shoulder length, strawberry blonde hair, braided to avoid tangling. At the sound of the knocking, the young girl awoke, her eyes adjusting to the morning light, the colorful detailed murals on the wall, telling stories of Greek mythology, coming to life. Looking at the grandfather clock ticking in the corner, Amelia saw it was close to eight thirty, she yawned and stretched out, the young girls long arms and legs flexing and extending, dancing have influenced the way she moved, increasing her already graceful movements. “Mummy?” She asked, hearing the woman’s voice. “Come in.” Amelia smiled slightly, pushing the rose colored blankets off of her.

 “I was wondering if you were busy this weekend or if you'd be able to join me in London?” she asked. “I know it doesn't sound all that important, but it's important to me that you're here.”

It was rare for Edith to get telephone calls, and usually someone else was to get it before she could even pick up the receiver, but luckily she did, as it was her aunt, a smile forming when she heard the woman’s voice. “Aunt Rosamund! What can I do for you?” The woman asked, not sure what this could be about.

 “It's not very much, but could you ensure that all my things make it up to my room? I can do the unpacking. Lady Edith and I had just ourselves in Switzerland, so we became somewhat self-reliant,” she said. “And thank you Anna, you're always so helpful to everyone whenever I'm here.”

"Not at all," Anna replied, taking note to ask Lady Mary when she saw her next. "Is there anything else I can do to be of service until then? I'm afraid Lady Mary is seeing to business at the moment, but if there's any way I can be of service..."
