a lot charmed and delighted that jimmy is, by my reckoning, still in the lead for kills this season. after so many seasons where he didn't kill anyone or was in the bottom few it's like some dam has finally broken. i'd say he finally got corrupted, but to be honest i don't think that's it. if you actually like, watch jimmy, he's not some innocent guy who doesn't want to kill people, he's just like... bad at it. he's ALWAYS been a bit petty. he's ALWAYS wanted to be the guy who kills people dead. he's ALWAYS wanted to villain arc, he says he's going to every season!

no, what's happened isn't a corruption of innocence.

what's happened is that a guy who's always been shouting about being a threat can finally, finally back it up. the guy who everyone sees as a joke...

mcyt'ers being revealed to be less-than-great people is not a rare thing, sadly, but i've seen it turned into a joke/meme/trend in other fandoms. this both minimalizes the actual people's/victims' struggles, makes the entire situation feel less serious than it is, especially to outsiders looking in, and makes everyone in the fandom look immature, petty, unable to take anything seriously, and genuinely harmful.

this server, fandom, and community are not dying, it is not ruined forever, this is one (major, i'm not trying to minimalize it) issue that we're currently dealing with. it will be okay. we will move on. this is not the beginning of the end. please calm down. i love this fandom, god bless all of you. <3

my thoughts on this are that if one (former) hermit has let us and his community down majorly, the rest of the hermits have done themselves proud in their response. they were accessible for the victims to reach out to with their complaints. they then sought to verify them, and once they had, they directly addressed the situation in a swift and efficient manner. their statement allowed for the victims to offer their perspectives with their own voices, on their own terms, whilst preemptively warning us that they would be coming, and they had been confirmed and acted upon.

this has been dealt with extremely professionally, with care to protect the victims, and with clear decisiveness (especially from a server that is so famously indecisive, it required a coup to start its second season). this was not dragged out. allegations were not dragged through the mud and victims ripped apart by the jury of the internet. the hermits brought us a situation already resolved and within one day, we are already in the aftermath

My final thoughts about iskall are, oh boy!

My heart goes out to the victims, truly.

And I agree with the sentiment that even though it's not against kids, it's still gross and it's still a crime. The hermits have done a great job with this whole situation and I sincerely hope they're all doing ok. Learning that a long time friend is actually not a good person is rough.

Involving the bullshit with Iskall

They mentioned that the reason Hermitcraft as a whole has not come out with information is that it's for the privacy of victims involved, and two have already come forward with statements but others want to stay private, likely to avoid the sensationalism and people trying to force things they aren't ready to share out of them, not every victim needs to come out publicly, as they did what they had to to have it brought to light to the people it needed to be first.

The Unnamed Hermit who was told took it to the others and they looked into the claims and proved they were fact, and properly confronted Iskall, and in a show of knowing what he did was wrong left the SMP

Stressmonster is NOT involved, this has been stated multiple times already, she is not involved she decided on her own to leave.

Iskall had groomed and manipulated mods and others in his community to try to get into multiple relationships, going as far as coercing sexual things from people through manipulation. None of it involves Minors. I want to stress that, No Minors Involved. BUT that does not give you the right to try to claim it couldn't be coercion or grooming just because it's adults in the situation. They Are Still Victims Even If Adults.

friendo yanked me into minecraft youtube and wrestled me into life series and hermitcraft and i have been unable to escape since—so have my personal interpretations of some of the youtubers!!

I will miss Stress so much. She has been one of my favourite hermits since season six. I am endlessly getting the 'Stressmonster is the ice queen!' song stuck in my head. I am always amused when I remember her kill on ren and doc during the civil war ('come and get me, boys'). I will miss her laugh, it always made me laugh too. I will miss her colour schemes and her dedication to the gorgeous builds. I will miss her interactions with Cleo and with False. I understand why she has resigned, and i wish her all the best in finding happiness for both herself and her children in the wake of this. But I will miss her, and I hope that she has all the support she needs
