And then there were four in the pack... today at 7:25am we saw Gus transition to the next place. He had been diagnosed with cancer a week ago Friday. Things looked okay with treatment. But Saturday night things turned bad. While in bed as a family, Gus,started breathing heavily at about 4:19am. We took him in and then made the decision to let go. I thought he had been sedated, but no. He faded fast. For some reason we were the only ones at the emergency. Kyle the doctor helped us through and they gave us time with him. We played 40s music, as we do while out for the pups and talked to him. Petted him. Cuddled. We then held him and it was peaceful. Somehow, Amy got us home. Good bye Gus, toofer, tooferdoots, Gustopher, Gustafson - you’re the little biggess of mantus.
