“My bucket seat was looking pretty raggedy and my little sister had this neat hello kitty blanket hanging out, so I snatched it and made this sick seat cover. Her warmth is overrated, but my style is forever.” Drift Tengoku, August 2001

new year, new Corolla! hello 1986 GT-S!
no rust, straight body, original paint, good blue interior. Arizona car with that sunfaded patina that I love, and the OG door stickers to boot. it's a shell, so no engine or transmission; but, a manual steering rack and LSD rear! this car is ripe for a transplant...
finally got all my tools and a borrowed hoist to the new house. the 300k mile engine in my wrecked '85 passed a compression test with flying colors. the plan is a simple swap... yank the guts out of the red car, give em a quick clean up, and throw em into the new blue hatch!
from my red-on-red ‘85 coupe, to this blue-on-blue ‘86 hatch. complete opposites, and yet the same damn thing. my mind was in shambles since my coupe got wrecked, but now that’s past. it’s a bittersweet thing, but i’m so damn excited to build this car.
