Baba, my father, has chronic leukemia. On Wednesday, he received a bone marrow transplant. Today begins his fourth day of chemotherapy. The insurance will not cover the mandatory 100 days he will be staying in the hospital nor the hospital’s hotel room, where he must be looked after 24/7.

Happy Pride 2019, Tumblr!

There are so many ways to celebrate this beautiful month! Pride parades and festivals and marches will take place all over the U.S. to elevate our LGBTQIA+ selves, friends, and family. Your Tumblr dashboards deserve to feel just as commemorative, so all month long we’re going to be highlighting amazing LGBTQIA+ Tumblrs for you to follow.

As we celebrate, we also want to remember the serious event from which Pride has evolved. This month marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Stonewall Riots, a series of political protests that began at The Stonewall Inn in New York City. Young Black and brown LGBTQIA+ people—particularly trans POC—were the first to stand up and protest against the police brutality and inhumane treatment of people within their community. They deserve to be remembered, respected, and honored.

And so, this year, our theme is “Educate. Advocate. Celebrate.” We’re sharing resources and information about the LGBTQIA+ community to help educate those who are not as knowledgeable about the history of the community. We’re advocating for the community by providing links to helpful resources, small businesses owned by LGBTQIA+ folks, and non-profits to support. And, of course, we want you to celebrate who you are. Through that, we’ll be spotlighting non-profit organizations, LGBTQIA+ artists on Tumblr, and more throughout the month right here on @action. There are so many wonderful LGBTQIA+ Tumblrs out there, and we want to continue to support and uplift them.

There’s also a little bit of fun added across the platform. See the Tumblr “T” up at the top on the left on desktop web? Hover your mouse and see it cycle through different LGBTQIA+ flag colors, including the traditional LGBTQ+ rainbow flag, trans flag, non-binary flag, genderqueer flag, lesbian flag, POC LGBTQ+ flag and more. okay guys, there’s something we need to talk about more.. 

netflix just released the film ‘ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga’ which is an indian movie about a girl who’s into girls and how she gets the courage to come out and face her family and be with the woman she loves. sound familiar? yeah, i know it’s the basic plot of most hollywood lgbtq movies but that’s not the point. 

this is literally the first indian movie i’ve seen on a famous platform, accessible by anyone, that actually represents the lgbtq community in all its beauty and love and affection, rather that scorning or mocking it. 

the movie is beautiful and the scenes and the fluff and the cute couple and the emotions just make it so worth watching, and that’s not all.

i’m an indian bisexual teenager and i would’ve been so happy to have been exposed to a movie like this when i was younger. if i had seen this kind of portrayal in the film industry, i doubt that i would’ve been the afraid young girl i was and i would’ve had the courage to do what the main characters did and just BE MYSELF. 

all i hope is that someone sees this movie, some little girl out there sees it and knows that she is not alone, that she is not abnormal. with a topic such as this, which has been treated as taboo for decades now in my country (still is kinda), when it is actually being represented and being represented well, i can’t help but wanna scream about it from the rooftops.

It's been 7 years now! I'm so proud of you all!

I know it's been just 2 years since I met all of you, your adorable faces, your voices, your talents, the way you are, but I feel like, even if I'm here since a short time, I'm being part of the family. I want to thank you, EXO, for being such lovely people, for making me laugh and cry sometimes, for making me dance and sing to your songs, I love you! ❤

Also, thanks to all the EXO-Ls who are giving support to our kings (and also who are providing me some Kaisoo pictures :3). We are one! 😄

I think I'm crying... T-T

And it’s not only if you’re attracted to each other. You don’t fall in love only with someone’s eyes, lips, hands, but with how that someone looks at you, how they smile when you’re together, how they touch, how they comfort, share your happiness and take away your sadness. And both Ji and Ksoo could’ve been surrounded by girls on top of girls all of their lives, and they could’ve been the most beautiful ever, but that’s not the only thing that counts.

Who knows how many hardships they’ve been through together. Who knows how Ksoo comforts Ji when he’s pouty and sad, and who knows how Ji celebrates when Ksoo is happy and fulfilled.

They’ve certainly been through a lot, and you can’t understand a relationship completely if you aren’t a part of it, so you can’t understand what either of them think when they look at each other.

And that’s why Ji would pick Ksoo over any beautiful girl out there, and Ksoo would do the same, because it goes deeper than just that. They’re both gorgeous, but that’s not all they see when they’re together. Maybe they see all of those sleepless nights when Ji was suffering because of his waist injuries and Ksoo was there to comfort him. Or when Ksoo wanted to quit, and Ji reminded him of his qualities and how he’s strong enough to carry on. Or when Ksoo won his first acting award, and Ji celebrated his first acting job. All the times when they’re goofing around, and all the jokes that made them laugh out loud. They know each other’s favorite positions for sleeping, how both of them act right before falling asleep, and right after waking up. Favorite songs, movies, dramas, books, food, colors, jokes and bad jokes, and it’s all because they cared enough to learn and remember.

So that’s why what they have is special in so many ways, because they’re there, trying to juggle a lot of things, different careers, hardships and their personal troubles all in the public eye.. And they still do it well.
