The virus started in 1952 so since then it's been one hundred and fifty-one years, the world has both developed and downgraded, but still over all those years, humanity has yet to overcome their current zombie situation.. If anything, it got worse. As this world's a variant of the current one, we have made some minor tweaks to this world, like in the timeline, weather, elixirs, and artifacts, still the one thing I want to push the most is that you are all in fact still a earth human.(probably)
