[LFG 5E] [EST] DND group of 4 players searching for a long term DM.

This is such a long shot, but my party and I are currently on the hunt for a new DM. 

Long story short, our DM turned out to be an absolute monster and we all ended up leaving the campaign very suddenly. We’re really hurt and shaken up over it, but we wish to continue with our characters in a new campaign setting instead. We’re willing to rewrite our backstories to fit the new setting, but we would like to keep what level we’re currently at (Level 5) and potentially most of the major character development we’ve gotten from our past sessions; that includes staying as an established group of adventurers.

A little bit about our group:

We are looking for a long term game and we want to be completely up front about that.

18+ so we would like for our DM to be 18+. We’re also all queer in some form, as are our characters.

We play Saturdays after 7 (usually 7:30 EST) and we sadly can’t do any other days right now because of our schedules.

We’re SUPER into roleplaying, but we also love combat and exploration. Roleplay heavy sessions are always welcome and we’ll never be upset if we can’t do combat every session.

HOMEBREW WORLDS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED. We all love homebrew and all of us are DMs. We’re big on descriptions and interacting with the world as is. We also love lore dumps.

We would like to keep our characters levels and character development. We’re more than happy to catch our potential DM up to speed considering all the past session notes we all have. There will be plenty we will have to omit, of course, and we’re all willing to compromise, but our current level and party composition would be something we would like to stay.

We can use either Roll20 or Foundry for combat and maps. We also use Discord for VC.

We also really want to set up a session 0 and/or a potential one shot first. Again, we were burned pretty badly by our previous DM and we just want to make sure we’re all in a reliable and safe environment with a new DM.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: We would like for our DM to be our friend and not just someone that runs the game for us. D&D is supposed to be fun after all. We want to make a connection and have someone that will fit in our group with us so we can all become close friends!

I'm still processing how fucking funny it was to watch the Crows run around during the events of Shadow and Bone. Like on the one hand they accomplished pretty much NOTHING they set out to accomplish and every single one of their plans went horribly awry, but on the other hand??? They snuck into the little palace? Inej killed TWO Inferni? They carjacked the Darkling? Jesper went up against a heartrender who had on a bullet-proof kefta with a gun and won? The Darkling tried to use the cut on Kaz and he got out of it with what was basically a magic trick? They snuck onto the skiff? Inej STABBED the Darkling? Kaz fought off a fricking Volcra with his CANE? Accomplishing nothing but with STUNNING proficiency. And at the end Alina's just like "gotta appreciate the effort, fam. Have these priceless jewels and go back to being crime lords in Ketterdam, please."
