It’s late (23:10) and it just now looks like dusk. It’s been a long day (didn’t sleep much on the flight over but they served Ben and Jerry’s ice cream for dessert!) and so I’ll just post this for now. Consider it an amuse bouche. On Saturday I visited the Gagosian to see Gerhard Richter’s Cage paintings. It was the first gallery I’ve attended since the start of the pandemic. I couldn’t have wished for a better show or a better gallery for my first foray back into this world. I arrived early and had the space to myself, which was an unexpected gift. The paintings themselves were enveloping, exhibiting a dimensionality that belied their seemingly flat surfaces. The space resonated with them. I can’t wait to see more.
