I love the way birds circle the waterfalls in Iceland. And I love how they show up as little white dots amongst the cliffs. (at Skógafoss Waterfall, Iceland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPCFYtnBesc/?utm_medium=tumblr

The first of the many (I’m definitely chasing waterfalls this trip; sorry, TLC). The first is from behind Seljalandsfoss; the second from the front. #semicolons (at Selijalandsfoss Waterfall) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPAsYSWBr3L/?utm_medium=tumblr

My new four-legged friends! There are a bunch of ranches on the road from Reykjavík to Vik. It was all I could do to keep from pulling over by the side of the road to photograph horses whenever I saw them. Not to say that I didn’t pull over quite a few times . . . It’s late (23:10) and it just now looks like dusk. It’s been a long day (didn’t sleep much on the flight over but they served Ben and Jerry’s ice cream for dessert!) and so I’ll just post this for now. Consider it an amuse bouche. It’s one of the first photos I made in Iceland, having pulled my car over into a side road to take out my camera and point it at the landscape. It’s beautiful here. On Saturday I visited the Gagosian to see Gerhard Richter’s Cage paintings. It was the first gallery I’ve attended since the start of the pandemic. I couldn’t have wished for a better show or a better gallery for my first foray back into this world. I arrived early and had the space to myself, which was an unexpected gift. The paintings themselves were enveloping, exhibiting a dimensionality that belied their seemingly flat surfaces. The space resonated with them. I can’t wait to see more.
