At the square of St. George of Nilias you will find the Nikolas museum of sculpture. In the '90s the area was upgraded and culturally enhanced due to the founding of this museum. The founding of the museum started at the late '80s and Nikolas museum was completed and first operated informally on July 5, 1992. Initiator of this project and sponsor of the museum was naturally Nikolaos Pavlopoulos, an important artist in the field of sculpture. Wanting to contribute to the culturally enhancement of his birthplace, Nikolaos Pavlopoulos established the sculpture museum in his effort to leave the stamp of his work, which will be kept and presented to this museum. In October 1990, Nikolaos Pavlopoulos died and he never saw his dream becoming a reality.  His vision, however, was continued by his sisters, Helen Pissanos and Aurelia Vafiadou . After the integration of the community of St. George of Nilias to the municipality of Milea, the museum changed its name from Nikola Community museum, to Nikolas municipality museum of sculptor. If you wish to visit the museum of sculpture, opening hours are daily, except Tuesday, with the exception of the winter and spring months. The tour to the museum is free. The Nikolas museum of sculpture is registered in the annual list of museums of the world, attracting visitors from different parts of world. The building that houses the exhibits is an 85sqm building of local architecture. Most of the exhibits that you will find at the museum are manufactured by bronze. You can also see xylography’s made by the sculptor and the tools of his trade.
