Top 10 manufacturing trends 2021
We heard a lot about Industry 4.0 and how it evolved manufacturing by introducing new and advanced technologies. But with the outbreak of the pandemic, which was uncertain, some of these manufacturing technologies need an upgrade to overcome the losses caused by the pandemic.
Industries are now planning to move towards Industry 5.0 to face the consequences of the pandemic. Industry 5.0 concentrates more on connecting man with machine, unlike Industry 4.0, whose main motive was to maximize the means of production.
Manufacturers like spices manufacturers in India, textile manufacturers in India, automobile manufacturers in India, and many more are getting in Industry 5.0. Let's have a look at 10 manufacturing trends that are required for recovering from the pandemic:
Covid-19 Recovery Strategy
This pandemic put manufacturing and production industries in serious trouble; they had to witness severe loss. The dynamics of demand and supply are not the same anymore, so the management of different manufacturing firms had to make a strategy to recover from the losses.
B2B to B2C
Manufacturing industries should shift their methods of operation from B2B to B2C with a view to earning more profit. When a manufacturing industry is selling its products directly to its customers, it has more control over the price. Spices manufacturers in India, such as chili powder manufacturers and coriander powder manufacturers, can get benefitted from this.
Internet of Things
The Internet of Things is one of the top trends in the manufacturing industry. Internet of Things helps a company to formulate strategic decisions that are based on real-time data. Considering the present situation, this type of technology is vital for survival.
Accessible Automation
Automation is the new trend that most manufacturing industries are adopting. It means automating the manufacturing processes in order to decrease the production time and increase the output. Chili powder manufacturers and coriander powder manufacturers are the ones getting benefitted from this trend.
Artificial Intelligence
According to many researchers, it is believed that by 2035 AI-powered technologies will run the manufacturing industries and increase the production abilities of the industries by 40%. Artificial intelligence will help in improving the Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). Human Interface Mate is one of the Popular AI used by Manufacturing Industries to complete control control and improve performance
New Approach to ERP
ERP is one of the most popular trends in manufacturing industries that makes them efficient. After this pandemic, industries should formulate a new approach to ERP for proper management of risk, projects, and accounting. Manufacturers like Chili powder manufacturers and coriander powder manufacturers use ERP for improving their production.
Mobile Robotics
Robots are now starting to work alongside the human workforce in manufacturing industries in order to make the production process versatile and efficient.
Safety of Employees
Working after a pandemic outbreak requires a lot of safety precautions so that the health of the employees working in the manufacturing industry doesn't get affected by any means.
Predictive Maintenance
Predictive maintenance is a technique adopted by many manufacturing firms to predict the issues beforehand and solve them before they affect the firm.
Additive Manufacturing
Additive manufacturing is used for making prototypes before making the actual product. This helps a manufacturing firm to rectify the mistakes before starting the actual production process.

Future of Honey Manufacturing Industry in India
As of 2019, China was the leading producer of honey according to Statista. Turkey and Canada came in next closely followed by Argentina, Iran, the United States and Ukraine. India came eighth in that list, producing almost 67.14 thousand metric tons of honey that year and the country is slated to increase its volumes exponentially in the coming years. India’s honey market was already valued at INR 17.29 billion at the end of 2020. Estimates show that this figure will nearly double and stand at 30.6 billion by 2026. The projected CAGR is 10%, one of the highest in the world.
Market drivers
Experts predict that several reasons will come together and positively impact the future of the honey manufacturing industry in India.
One, along with being the largest producer of honey, China is also the largest consumer. This means it consumes most of what it produces. Combine this with the growing political tensions between China and the Western countries and most of Europe and America are now looking to import their honey from China’s alternative. India already supplies honey to the south Asian and Pacific region including countries like Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. When Western countries join this group, the honey market in India will only inflate.
Two, modern customers, especially millennials and the following generations are increasingly substituting sugar with honey. Health-conscious citizens are also identifying the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of honey. The domestic demand for honey is thus slated to rise in India and this will act as one of the major market drivers for the industry. 2020 brought an unprecedented time when health and fitness became a trending topic among Indian consumers. And honey as a substitute for sugar took the lead along with other food items.
And three, the Government of India is looking to boost the Indian honey manufacturing industry by taking its funds and available resources to the grassroots. The GoI recently launched the ‘Production of Beekeeping to Increase Crop Yield’ program that aims to train farmers on the importance of bee-keeping and spread awareness about the sustainable use of fertilisers to protect the bees. The government is also directing funds to organisations and entities that offer mentoring and advisory services to bee farmers. Government initiatives always help to boost an industry and honey manufacturing is receiving increased attention over the last few years.
Market players
Until recently, business to consumer was the only distribution channel available to honey manufacturers. But technological advancement in e-commerce has opened up a whole new market for honey where the product is easily accessible to end-users. Going forward, estimates show the e-commerce will increase the demand for honey in India and more players will come into the market with diverse distribution channels like Pharmaceuticals, B2B, General Trade, Cosmetics, and more.
Additionally, the Indian honey market is becoming increasingly competitive that is helping to keep the demand at high levels. Previously, brands like Dabur India Ltd and Apis India dominated the market but now, new players like i-FLO by GHCL are starting to make a mark. GHCL already holds an unmatched reputation for providing quality consumer products. Its range of honey in varying sizes is further improving accessibility and affordability. Increased competition is always a sign of a healthy market.
Going forward
Maharashtra is the largest producer of honey in India now. And the country, as a whole, manufacturers multiflora honey the most in terms of flavour. Expert predictions indicate that more Indian states will boost their honey production given the effects of the market drivers in the coming years and consumers will increasingly accept other flavours of honey like Eucalyptus, Ajwain and more. The quality of honey manufacturing should also improve due to the existing competition and India may rise above the INR 30.6 billion by 2026 prediction.

Everything you Need to know about Soda Ash and its Usage
Soda Ash is a chemical that's made up of Sodium Carbonate. It can be found naturally or extracted from minerals. There are many uses for soda ash that impact our daily lives. Glass manufacturing is the most important use of soda ash, whether it's in the production or fiberglass insulation of containers or flat glass for the automotive, commercial, and housing industries.
 SODA ASH TYPES
There are two types of Soda Ash: Dense Soda Ash or Light Soda Ash.
 Different Uses of Soda Ash
Industrial Uses: Soda Ash can be used in large quantities in the manufacture of dyes, synthetic detergents, and enamelling in the petroleum industry.
Glass Industry: Soda Ash is an important component of the glass industry. It helps to reduce silica's melting points.
Other uses: The addition of soda ash to pool and spa treatment chemicals helps reduce the acidity of water. It is also used to make soaps and detergents for household use.
Also, soda ash is used to soften water and clean the air. Soda ash is used to remove sulphur dioxide and hydrochloric acids from stack gases. This is a growing demand as environmental concerns are increasing.
To make products that sweeten soft drinks (corn sweeteners), alleviate physical discomfort (sodium bicarbonate), and improve food and toiletries (phosphates), chemical producers use soda ash as an intermediate. Other common products that use soda ash include paper products and household detergents.
We can see that Soda Ash has become more popular in both industries and households because of its many properties.
India was once a major importer of Soda Ash due to its low cost. But now, the scenario is changing rapidly as more industry giants like GHCL Ltd are becoming the largest Soda Ash producers in India and also coming forward to manufacture Soda Ash for industrial usage more than before.
Businessmen believe that India's future in Soda Ash manufacturing looks very bright due to a variety of reasons. Let's look at the top reasons Indian industrial salt producers are on the brighter side.
According to the March 2020 report by chemanalyst," Soda Ash demand increased at a rate of 5.54% between 2013 and 2019, and is expected to grow at a healthy CAGR over the forecast period. The Indian market is expected to grow in Soda Ash due to increased use of Soda Ash as a dye, coloring agent, and fertilizer.
According to a survey in the similar report, it is estimated that Major players operating in India Soda Ash market include Tata Chemicals Limited (India), Nirma Limited (India), Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Ltd (GHCL) Limited (India), DCW Limited (India), etc. In July 2019, the Union Environment Ministry granted environment clearance (EC), to Tata Chemicals Limited, for the expansion of its Soda Ash Plant in Gujarat. The expansion of the Soda ash plant will cost approximately INR 104 trillion.
According to Business Line's recent article, however, the "Soda Ash Imports for the Year" could exceed 9 lakh tonnes. This is close to 25% of India's demand.
There is a silver lining in this situation: More and more industries are interested in manufacturing Soda Ash from scratch. We can see a decrease in imports from Turkey and the U.S.
