Trading the concrete jungle for the City of Roses // Excited to be exploring Portland with @lannadelraujo and @essracks this weekend and concluding this mini getaway with a brief visit to Seattle to see @lizfuzzfish44 and @laurensleezer. My one big regret about heading to the PNW is the lack of @innout. (at John F. Kennedy International Airport) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByqxiUzHw1z/?igshid=viuragqrx763

Feeling like a tropical jungle outside with all this rain and humidity. In other news, we held our annual bake off at work yesterday and I’m excited to say I was awarded prizes for best sweet and best savoury for my strawberry rhubarb pie and onion, squash, and sage hand pies. Photos to follow in my stories. https://www.instagram.com/p/BykjC7Xn5G_/?igshid=1ex014e9pwuyd

For future reference //The outfit, the palm, the necklace, the closed sign —this shop reminded me so much of the witching and wizarding shops found in Diagon Alley and along Hogsmeade High Street. ✨⚡️ #harrypotter #fromthearchives (at Hudson, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Byc97GvnVYp/?igshid=12klrlkv2dd66

#plantproblems as lush as the new @hbo series Gentleman Jack // My Victorian heart is enjoying this period drama so thoroughly and it’s made even better by coverage of the real Anne Lister by the @deadladiesshow podcast! It’s been a busy few weeks so my city adventures have been relegated to catch ups with friends and dodging all these spring rainstorms. Opting instead for a photo #fromthearchives of a piece from the Chihuly exhibition in the newly restored Temperate House at Kew Gardens. The Rivertown Lodge in Hudson, NY was such a stunning example of #accidentallywesanderson. While it was difficult to get the hotel facade head on due to several parked cars, you can get an idea from these exterior shots. More photos of the hotel’s interior design to follow. “Why would anyone ever eat anything besides breakfast food?” “People are idiots, Leslie.” // Taken during our adventures in the Catskills this past weekend. We enjoyed loads of good food, small town charm, a pleasant dose of nature for all us city folk, and the most calming and lovely drives through the mountains. I have so many photos from our visit to Phoenicia, Kaaterskill Falls, and Hudson it’s difficult to know how to proceed with sharing them. Check out my stories and feed over the next few days for some upstate highlights. In the meantime, I have to give a shout out to this delicious food, strawberry jam, and diner coffee from the gorgeous Phoenicia Diner. Absolutely enamoured with all the Victorian details in the Palm House at Kew Gardens // The Palm House is likely the closest I'll ever get to seeing what the Crystal Palace was like and even that is a stretch compared to how massive the palace likely was. A bit of history behind this structure: The architects designed the house using techniques from the ship building industry since a glasshouse of this size had never been built before. #victorianstudies #fromthearchives (at Palm House) https://www.instagram.com/kristinamcclend/p/BxM4-JXHrYs/?igshid=9fsgqlhrej26
