sxlverlining:
Newbark Town had not changed in a single way since Silver had last been there a couple of years prior. That was the thing about small towns; with everyone knowing each other and no one really moving in, what was there to change? The town was absurdly tiny, after all. The town was populated by a few households and the main attraction, the Elm Pokemon Lab in the north. It had been one of the first places Silver ever saw when he came to Johto. He had wanted a Pokemon then, a good one. One only a professor could provide. But he knew that no professor would agree to give some random, suspicious streetrat a valuable Pokemon.
Professor Oak’s team had already turned him down. Silver would not accept rejection this time. He wouldn’t even open himself up to the opportunity. He waited and he waited and he waited outside, gazing in through the window in hopes of finding a chance to snatch a Pokeball when no one was looking. He didn’t even have time to look at what capsule he had stolen. The Totodile was a lucky choice, though. It would grow into the big, ferocious Feraligatr. Finally, he’d have a Pokemon worth his time. After that, he thought he’d never return to Newbark Town ever again, lest he run the risk of having to return his stolen Pokemon.
Yet here he was now, back in Newbark Town. Silver was in nearly the same exact position he had been those years ago. It wasn’t the first time he’d returned. After his travels through Kanto, something had changed in him. A guilt built up. He felt bad for what he had done and he had to make it right. He attempted to return Totodile, now Feraligatr, to Professor Elm, but the professor would hear nothing of it. He insisted on letting Silver keep it, and hoped he would return from time to time to show off Feraligatr’s progress.
Silver had nothing better to do that day, so he decided to return to visit Elm. The guy was nice. Really nice, considering the situation. Silver was never sure when to enter the lab. What if he was busy or out? Inside, he couldn’t exactly see Elm, though he saw his assistants and— Kris? However, she soon disappeared from sight. Silver could hear the front door of the lab open and close. Soon after, Kris strolled by. She stopped to address him when she noticed his presence.
“And what do you think you’re doing, spying into the lab like that?”
It was almost as if it had been that first time Silver stepped foot in Newbark Town. The situation was all too familiar. He instinctively rolled his eyes in response.
“I wouldn’t call it spying,” Silver responded. “More like looking in. It’s not like it’s illegal or something. I wanted to see Elm, but… I guess he’s not here. Do you know when he might be around?”
“You want to see the professor, do you? So you want to get a Pokemon properly this time instead of stealing it, eh?” she teased, a grin spreading across her face. She shoved her hands into her lab coat as she strolled towards Silver, trying to look as casual as possible. “As you can see through that window, he’s not here. Elm left two days ago for a research trip, and although he said he’d be back by next week, it probably will take longer. For now, I’m in charge of the lab.”
Kris peered over Silver’s shoulder, trying to get a view of what he saw through the window. “Oh my, you can really see almost everything from here! I should really fix that with a curtain or something...” she mused. Of course even after the break-in a few years ago nothing was done to fortify the window: the glass was replaced and that was it. Then again, they had no rare Pokemon anymore. The four that the lab held before were all given (well, one stolen) to trainers, Kris being one of them herself. She had picked one of the Chikoritas, the other one having gone to Lyra.
She could feel Megaree buzzing with excitement through his pokeball, probably wanting to battle Silver. It was usually Arckee that wanted to start battles (and Kris could tell that he too wanted to get out of his pokeball), so this was a bit of a surprise. Even though Kris knew she was a strong trainer, she wasn’t sure how she’d hold up against Silver. But if Megaree felt confident, she should too. Still, Kris had matters to attend to, already being a few minutes late to Mr. Pokemon’s house.
“Anyways, I’m going to Mr. Pokemon’s house. Apparently he made a great discovery, and I have to go check it out. Just,” she looked at him imploringly, “behave yourself while I’m gone. If any equipment goes missing, I won’t hesitate to call the police on you.” Kris meant every word, but her tone was light and she tried to make it sound like she was joking. She was fond of Silver, but not very trusting of him. She’d rather have someone watch him than take her chances.
“Unless, you want to come with me?”

Lost | Kris & Rosa
@rosebudheroine
The warm, summer breeze drifted through the air with a hint of the smell of salt accompanying it. Even though she was on the beach, it wasn’t the ideal vacation Kris had imagined it would be. She was all the way in Unova, and she itched to catch all the different types of Pokemon she hadn’t seen before. Still, she couldn’t do anything about it. She had to stick near her mom, which meant she was stuck in Undella.
Kris had already encountered new species of Pokemon that weren’t in her Pokedex when she had been surfing in the bay on Starmee. At the time, unfortunately, she only had regular pokeballs on her, no ultra, level, net, diving, or quick balls. Some catching expert she is. Still, even if she wanted to catch Pokemon, it would’ve been difficult in getting them back to Johto. The PCs in Unova have a slightly different system than back at home; Kris could have probably figured out a way to transfer them but that would require letting her mom out of her sight for a small period of time. Which was the case now.
“Mom? Oh god, where did you go now?” It had literally been fourteen minutes since Kris last saw her mom. She had run back to the cabin they rented to get changed into her casual outfit since it was a lot more comfortable than the awkward swimsuit she had been wearing, and also to get some sunscreen. And when she came back, her mom was gone from the place she had been in.
The trainer felt more annoyed than anything else. Her mom had probably gone off somewhere to waste her money on souvenirs while Kris wasn’t looking, or something or the sort. Or maybe, knowing her, she had seen something sparkly in the distance and just had to go investigate. What a pain.
Kris glanced around, hoping to catch sight of her mom. Instead, she saw a girl with long brown hair. There was no harm in asking if she saw where her mom went. “Hey, sorry to bother you but have you seen this lady that’s around this height with black hair, a beauty mark under her left eye, and wearing a slightly weird outfit?” She indicated her mom’s height, which was slightly shorter than her’s, hoping that the girl saw her. It would make this ordeal a lot faster.

PokEthan | Ethan & Kris
@breederhibiki
She hadn’t realized that the Safari Zone had become the Pal Park. The last time she had come to this part of Kanto it had been momentarily closed, since the owner had gone on vacation. Now it had been moved to Johto and replaced by something else; she should have looked it up before having come all the way to this region.
As much as she was disappointed with herself, there was no point in regretting such a simple mistake; might as well make the most of it and catch some more Pokemon. Route 15 was close enough that she could catch some there. Plus, it was on the was to Vermilion City where she planned on taking the S. S. Aqua home.
By the time she had almost finished checking the route thoroughly for Pokemon she hadn’t seen before (which proved to be none), it was already the evening, slowly transitioning to night. Only seven new Pokemon had been added to Bill’s PC, one caught while she was practicing catching methods, four out of sheer boredom, and three that had a slightly different pattern from the ones that she already had. There was one more area that needed to be checked, and then she would go find lodging in Fuchsia for the night.
The grass ruffled a bit. Kris’ crystal eyes locked onto the movement, using every one of her senses to try to figure out what was there. She could see a spot of red- maybe it was a Voltorb? But what would a Voltorb be doing all the way on Route 15, if her Pokedex indicated that they didn’t nest here? In fact, she couldn’t think of any red-coloured Pokemon that nested here, other than Ledyba but they resided in trees. Maybe it was a shiny, or a Pokemon she hadn’t seen before that got lost!
“Chumee! Use Mean Look!” Simultaneously she threw a regular pokeball, knowing it’ll probably be caught. Most Pokemon here were around level 25, all of which were really easy to catch. Well, maybe this one would have been easy to catch if it had been a Pokemon. But no, it was her friend, Ethan.
"What the- Ethan?!” Her mind flashed to all of her unanswered calls and the fact that he hadn’t contacted her for at least a week. It was now Kris’ turn to give him a mean look. “So this is where you’ve been all this time?! You haven’t answered my calls or my messages, and now I find you in the grass ALL THE WAY IN KANTO. It’s almost nighttime too, so you should be getting ready to go to sleep, and not playing around on a route. And who knows if you’ve been even eating properly SINCE YOU HAVEN’T CONTACTED ME.”

Totally not the game plot | Kris & Silver
@sxlverlining
A small ding from the computer indicated that there was a new email. Being Professor Elm’s head assistant, Kris was allowed to use the computer as much as she wanted, as long as it was for research purposes. Really, she never used it other than to keep her emails open for the days that the professor was out. Just like today.
She sat down on the swiveling chair and opened the new email. It was from Mr. Pokemon, forwarded to her by Elm. It read: I’ve found something amazing! It’s absolutely magnificent! Please stop by my house or have one of your assistants come by. This is a huge discovery! -Mr. Pokemon Underneath it it wrote: Kris, could you go by Mr. Pokemon’s house for me? Thanks a bunch! -Professor Elm There was no reason to refuse the request, and so Kris replied with a simple yes. For some reason it felt like something similar had happened before, although she herself had never actually visited Mr. Pokemon’s house before.
For this mission she decided to take Arckee, Blissee, Chumee, Kazamee, Megaree, Parasee, and Xatee. Although she wasn’t sure exactly what skills she would need, this team seemed like it would be the best. “Alright, I’m heading out. Keep the lab clean while I’m gone,” she informed the other assistant. He handed her five potions as he usually did whenever she had an errand to run outside of New Bark. It was a kind gesture, and she really appreciated it even if it was a tad useless. Still, the potions had prevented Chumee from fainting once or twice before when she had run out of her mom’s super potions.
Before she was on her way she popped her head into her house to tell her mom that she was going out of town for a bit. Of course, she didn’t plan to be gone long, especially since Arckee’s extreme speed could get her to her destination in no time. Once that was done she was on her way to Route 29.
Just as she was about to leave the town, a person near the back window to the lab caught her eye. “And what do you think you’re doing, spying into the lab like that?” she asked the person, eyebrow raised. In most cases she would be dragging the person to the authorities to be dealt with. However, the person was her friend, Silver.

Pros & cons | Kris & Moon
@alolatrained
The volume of the noise around her steadily increased, as if her headache hadn’t been bad enough before. Her eye twitched incessantly from lack of sleep, all due to the rock-hard beds that were offered at the hotel. Trainers from all over the region and other regions buzzed around her, excited for the events to come.
It was a huge convention where trainers got to show off their Pokemon, whether in battle or in a contest, and make new friends. The fourth and final day was supposed to end the con with a bang, so to say, where top trainers from all over were to go into an all-out battle. The whole thing was hosted by the Pokemon League for children to become more interested into becoming Pokemon trainers in the future, as if there wasn’t a lot of interest already. Everyone’s lives revolved around Pokemon.
Somehow, Kris was considered to be one of those top trainers. She had received a letter in the mail stating that she was invited, and that all housing would be provided for her for the duration of the con. Unfortunately it had been her mom that had opened the letter and had insisted that she go, despite all of Kris’ protests. And here she was at the first day of the con.
She headed over to the line in front of the registration desk, already searching through her backpack for her trainer card. And of course, to none of her surprise, it was a wreck in the bag. Super potions were strewn here and there - her mom’s favourite thing to buy with her money. It was Kris’ fault for not checking what her mom had packed, but she had never imagined it would be this messy. In the end she stuck her hand into the bag, hoping to find the card by touch.
Once Kris found something that felt like it could be the card, she removed her hand, effectively knocking out a super potion, which broke as it fell onto the ground, spilling onto the poor girl that was in front of her. And this is why you should always keep everything neat and tidy, mom. “I am so sorry, I did not mean for that to happen. Here, I’ll help you clean it up,” she said to the shorter girl.
