knight kris theory discourse going on on twitter and its reminding me of how quick deltarune fans are to jump to conclusions based on the ending of a chapter.

chapter 1 ends with kris ripping out their soul and donning a knife? "OMG KRIS IS ACTUALLY CHARA AND CHAPTER 2 WILL BE A GENOCIDE ROUTE WHERE THEY KILL EVERYONE!!"

chapter 2 ends with kris opening up a dark fountain, after queen said that ANYONE could open up a dark fountain? "OMG KRIS IS ACTUALLY THE KNIGHT" (like by this logic fucking berdly is the knight because HE tried to open a dark fountain)

y'all don't stop to think about how this will affect the rest of the story. if chapter 2 was gonna be kris killing everyone then what's the point of setting up all those characters just to kill them off in the second chapter? what would be the rest of the story?

if kris really was the knight then why would they reveal such an important plot point in the SECOND chapter instead of in later chapters?

at this rate chapter 3 is gonna end with kris sneezing and the fandom will be like "OMG THIS IS PROOF THAT KRIS KILLED ASRIEL"
