He leans against the side of his car, cigarette between his fingers as the smoke slowly exits his lungs, he’s laughing at nothing in particular with his arm wrapped around some groupie who is playing with the edge of his see-through mesh top. Baekhyun had a new combination of weed that he needed tested before selling it at the race tonight and Jongin has been so on edge since the reunion that he didn’t turn it away. best of friends. that’s what you and jungkook were. as their stylist for several years now, you and jungkook got along like no other and over time developed a friendship that was special to the two of you. but what happens when an IU collaboration deal, a jealous childhood-best friend and secret feelings get intertwined with the simple life you thought you were living?

Humming one of their recent tracks mindlessly, Jungkook slipped his phone back into his pocket after sending Jimin a quick reply, telling him that he’d be there in the studio in just a couple minutes.

As he walked down the hallway, his eyes momentarily fell upon the staff room, knowing if you were to be found anywhere at this time, it would be there or your office.

But after already taking the long way to walk by your empty office, he knew there would be a good chance of you inside those doors. A slight hesitation in his step, he groaned inwardly as his feet automatically walked towards the staff room. Damn, his weakness.

He didn’t even know what he would say to you if you were there. Hello? How are you? Even the thought of it sounded ridiculous to him.

You had been the one to avoid Jungkook, no explanation given, yet he couldn’t help but feel guilty when he gave you the same treatment. He didn’t like it, not a single bit. Not when it pained him every second to see the distraught look on your face, when he just wanted to have you in his arms and tell you to tell him everything, that’d he be there no matter what.

Finding himself reaching for the doorknob, his grip faltered when he glanced up. Jungkook felt his stomach instantly drop as he looked through the small rectangular glass window on the door, his eyes falling on you and Jiho with your lips connected, as you stood there, pressed against the countertop.

“Someone save me!” you cried dramatically, “Who will rescue me from this dragon who wants to eat me!?” You flailed your arms about, hoping to gain attention from the boy who stood below the slide upon which you were sitting on. 

“Princess! I am coming to rescue you!” Jimin yelled, as he charged towards the ladder, effortlessly swinging himself onto the wooden structure as he pulled out his fake toy sword. 

“Rawr!” Taehyung growled as he stomped towards Jimin. Lifting up his hands, he curled his fingers outward in an attempt to resemble dragon claws, “You can’t take away my dinner!” 

You watched as Jimin rolled underneath Taehyung’s legs, just for Taehyung to grab onto the back of Jimin’s shirt and pull him back away from you. Just then, you watched as Jimin flipped Taehyung over and pretended to stick the sword into his side. 

“Noooooo!” Taehyung groaned in dramatic fashion, as his entire body began to shake before slowly coming to a stop, his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth, as he moaned, “I’m dead.” 

Holding back giggles at Taehyung’s acting, your attention was quickly pulled to Jimin who came running towards you. 

“My knight in shining armor!” you cheered, your smile reaching the ends of your face as Jimin crouched down beside you, a triumphant look on his face,“I’m here Princess!” 

Pretending to untie the rope Taehyung had told you to imagine he tied around you, the second you were “free”, you threw your arms around Jimin’s neck and pulled him into a hug, “Yay, you saved me!” 

Returning the hug, Jimin laughed into your shoulder before you pulled away from him. 

“I must reward you for your bravery!” you said with a firm nod. Ignoring the look of confusion on Jimin’s face, you moved to his side before giving him a kiss on his cheek. 

Making your way down the slide you were “trapped” upon, Jimin sat there in slight surprise as his face flushed, his cheeks burning where your lips had touched them.

“A what?!” Jimin exclaimed. Putting the book he was reading down on his lap, he removed his reading glasses and pushed them over his head.

“A d-date…” Jieun trailed off softly as she stared down at the ground, glancing up occasionally to catch a look at her dad’s reaction.

Sitting beside Jimin on the couch, you peered over your laptop screen, eyes carefully watching the exchange happen in front of you as an amused smile graced your face. After all, this wasn’t news to you. The both of you already had a discussion about this days ago, and you couldn’t have been happier. Of course, convincing Jimin was a whole other story.

“What do you mean a date? Someone asked you out?!” Jimin asked incredulously, to which earned him a smack on the arm.

“What does that mean? Why would someone not ask Jieunnie on a date?” you scowled, giving him a soft glare.

Jieun smiled softly, her gaze falling back onto the ground as she shyly teetered back and forth in front of you and Jimin.

“That’s not what I meant! Who wouldn’t like Jieun? People would be stupid for not liking my baby girl.” Jimin huffed, crossing his arms across his chest as he fell against the back of the couch.

You two would meet at a grocery store.

Like why do they always have to put the things you like on the top shelf.

You don’t mind climbing up the shelves, but that’s just sorta frowned upon, so you try not to.

You were just about to be giving up your goal of getting this one certain item, it being on the tallest of shelves, when you saw him.

He was over there looking all tall and handsome, but mostly tall, like really really tall, tall enough to reach the top shelf with ease.

It would have been an easy walk over, ask to get item, receive item, and thank them for getting the item, had he not turned around at that exact moment.

Of course, in doing so, he locked eyes with you, and here you are, that weirdo staring at someone else in the grocery store.

That was when you finally stuttered out “Help please”, after you finally got over being captivated by his stunning eyes and smile.

Like damn someone needed to write his parents a thank you letter, for giving birth to this god among men.
