“Please please please!” Eric whined while kicking his feet in the air.

It was your monthly sleepover night with your best friend Eric, this time held at your place. You had spent the evening going grocery shopping for tons of snacks, baking some cookies and building a fort in the living room out of blankets and pillows where you’d hang out for the rest of the night. But despite all the food you had prepared, apparently it wasn’t enough for Eric’s bottomless stomach.

“No Eric! It’s midnight, we’re not getting doughnuts. There’s still popcorn left if you want a snack.” You said, shutting down your laptop from which you had just watched a movie.

“But I’m the best snack,” Eric said and winked at you. Laughing, you grabbed your pillow and threw it at him. Unfortunately you missed, which made Eric’s cocky smile grow even bigger.

You didn’t want to hear more of his dumb jokes, so you changed the subject and went on to discuss the movie you had just seen, the two of you enthusiastically swapping theories about the plot and opinions on the characters, until you made the mistake of off-handedly saying you disliked Eric’s favorite character.

“What? How can you hate them?!” he exclaimed.

“Wait, I never said I hated them! I just, you know, think the character’s background and personality could be better and that-”

You couldn’t finish your sentence before Eric loudly interrupted. “How dare you! I don’t like you, get out of my fort. Now.”

“Are you kidding me? Eric, it’s OUR fort,” you tried to reason with him as he pushed you outside with a determined look on his face. “I helped you build it!”

Standing outside the fort’s entrance, you sighed. “Eric, stop being so childish.” You waited, but there was no answer. “Ugh, fine, I’ll go sleep next to Hwall then.” You could only take a couple of steps, before Eric stopped you. “No! Don’t leave me!” Eric lunged from inside the fort, grabbing you by the ankle and nearly tripping you over. After gaining back your balance you smirked to yourself triumphantly, before he let go of you and you crawled back into the fort.

“Look, I don’t mean to be a killjoy but I don’t think any place is even open anymore. We can make some sandwiches if you want though.”

He shook his head. “No it’s okay, I’m not that hungry, just…” Eric started, but seemed to stop himself from going on.

“Yeah?” You tried to coax him into saying what was on his mind.

Eric stared at his fingers, playing with his fingernails. “I don’t know, I guess I just don’t wanna go to sleep yet.” He raised his gaze from his hands to look into your eyes and he smiled sweetly. “I love spending time with you.”

For some silly and totally unrelated reason you suddenly felt… odd. Like, a tingling in the pit of your stomach. Maybe you just ate too many sweets.

You tried your best not to look constipated and returned the smile as well as the compliment. “I have fun when I’m with you too Eric.” He nodded and lied down onto the mattress you’d set on the floor, so you could even sleep in the fort if you wanted to. Settling down next to him, you realized how tired you felt. Even though you two kept chatting and bantering, your eyelids began to grow heavier by the second and soon you were half asleep.

Just when you felt yourself slipping completely into the dreamland, a warm feeling spread on your hand, stirring you back into consciousness. Before you opened your eyes, you realized the reason your hand felt warm was because someone was holding it.

Your hand was being held. By Eric.

Swallowing a squeal, you felt that odd tingly feeling coming back, along with a faster heartbeat. You knew you shouldn’t have ate that much popcorn, now you were having a heart attack. And it was 100% the popcorn, not Eric. Holding. Your. Hand.

Slowly opening your eyes you saw Eric laying there, facing you with his eyes closed. “Eric…” you whispered, but he didn’t react at all. The boy was fast asleep, and seeing him in such a peaceful state made you smile.

And then he rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb and you were sure you didn’t want to be just best friends with him anymore.

There was a careful knock on your bedroom’s door. You hummed an answer, and the door opened just enough for Jaemin to pop his head through the crack. ”Hey, Mark hyung is on his way to pick us up.”

Without raising your eyes from the screen of your laptop, you hummed again. “Mhm, have fun babe.”

“Babe… We’re going to the farmers market today, aren’t you gonna come?”

Oh, right. You had gushed to your boyfriend about the pretty booths and all the fresh fruit and flowers and handmade little accessories. Maybe you could even be lucky enough to see some little farm animals, like sheep or ducks! You had been so excited about going, but now you were stuck at your desk, in the middle of an important paper. And the deadline being tonight, you couldn’t procrastinate it any further, you had to finish it now.

“I’m sorry Nana, I can’t,” you finally turned in your chair to look at him, and pointed at the laptop in front of you, “I really have to write this one paper for tomorrow, it’s important.”

Pouting, Jaemin looked like a sad puppy who had been put in a cage. He had also been excited about going with you and taking pretty photos together. You tried to cheer him up, as well as give yourself motivation for the task at hand. “Don’t worry Jaems, you can go with the boys now and we can go together tomorrow!”

“Okay,” he agreed grudgingly, now completely entering your room, “is there something you’d want me to bring you?”

Trying to lift his spirits more, you joked, “Just don’t buy a goat. I don’t care what you do, just no goats.”

It made Jaemin smile widely. “I don’t understand, what do you have against goats? They’re cute!”

“They’re evil!” You exclaimed. “Have you seen their eyes? Goats have rectangle pupils, they just want to see the world burn!”

“You’re ridiculous…” Jaemin chuckled, walking over to you to press a kiss on your temple.  He smiled, his fondness for you shining in his eyes. You were ready to abandon all responsibility and let yourself get lost in his eyes, but just then a car honk came from your front yard. “That must be them, bye then baby!” Jaemin pressed one more kiss on your lips before leaving. ”Good luck with your paper!”

“Bye love! Have fun, no goats!” You yelled after him, but he closed the door before the last part could reach his ears. You huffed, shaking your head but nevertheless a smile prominent on your lips.

You turned your attention back to your homework, and successfully focused on writing for about an hour. Then your phone buzzed on your bed, signalling a notification. Glancing at the screen, you noticed it was from instagram.

Taken over by a momentary curiousity, and having progressed well with your paper you decided you could take a little break, you stood up and moved to sit on your bed. Taking your phone in your hand, you opened the app, and Jaemins recent post was right at the top of your timeline. It was a selfie… with a goat. And he’d tagged you as the goat, of course. “Jaems, you dumbass…” you laughed, before posting a quick comment.

Hi! Welcome!

My name’s Lisa and this is my newly made kpop writing blog. I’d say I’m not a very good writer, but my friends would throw rotten tomatoes at me so I’ll say I’m an okay writer! I’ll do my best and constantly try to improve my skills.

I’m just your average girl who enjoys creative writing, and kpop. I listen to quite many groups and artists, some of which have unfortunatelly moved a bit (quite far) to the background. Nevertheless I’m excited to gush about them all the same! So even if you don’t feel like requesting, you’re very welcome to scream about your faves at me lmao

OR!! If you somehow stumbled here even though you don’t even like kpop that much, I’m also enthusiastic about Harry Potter, Supernatural, Game of Thrones and, well, Moomins.
