Jinu better be so glad that the nightmare he made reader have didn’t cause them to wake up to a panic attack 😭😭😭 the boys would’ve killed him
Oh definitely, the others would have teamed up and gave him hell.
But reader has been dealing with sporadic nightmares since losing Caleb so while the nightmare being about the saja boys is new she's somewhat used to it

Saja boys: how are we gonna get our mate to go with us :(
Jinu: don’t worry guys
Jinu: I got this
Jinu: (causes mate trauma)
Your honor, they’re all stupid
It was a very Jinu thing to do, hardest part was convincing the others to act like they had been overpowered by Duri

Colliding Worlds (Isekai'd Saja Boys x Reader)
MDN1/18+
A/N: Happy weekend everyone <3 Chapter 6 is here! The Saja Boys are determined to patch things up with reader.
CW: Swearing, mentions of zombies, blood & gore, obsessive saja boys, slightly manipulative behaviour. WC 4,364
Chapter 6
(Y/N) lay staring at the ceiling from her couch, at least she assumed in the darkness she was still facing the same way. With the curtains drawn since she had arrived back with Jinu and Abby she wasn’t even sure what time it was. It had been dark when they got back; crying into a cushion until she eventually fell asleep, at some point she woke up and the room was more grey than black as light hit the curtains, but she only moved long enough to eat a cup of noodles and go to the bathroom before falling back on the couch.
Losing her temper with Abby made her feel awful – he had no way of knowing there was a zombie in there. And he didn’t know what she had been through before, who she had lost. Thinking about the slap made her palm sting like it had in the moment – that was definitely too far on her part. Now she was certain they wouldn’t go scavenging with her; and that was for the best, because she couldn’t stand the idea of one of the five men getting hurt because of a failure on her part.
Maybe it was time for her to leave the survivor camp altogether. For the past year she had felt safer out there alone, with the risk of zombies, than she had for the majority of her stay in camp. No one talked to her unless they absolutely had to – apart from Duri in the unfortunate moments he caught her off guard – and the first possible friends she could have made would now think she was crazy. So if scavenging by herself wasn’t an option, maybe it was time to just leave, no more survivor groups, find a cave and live like a hermit.
Her stomach growled ferociously as a reminder she hadn’t eaten in hours, with a defeated sigh (Y/N) slid off the couch and made her way to the kitchen cupboards in search of something that counted as a meal. Grabbing two more cups of instant noodles she mentally calculated how many days her rations would last her – not wanting to go to the canteen for fear of running into any of the Saja Boys. She hadn’t even been for a run since returning, she contemplated it at one point but the pulling feeling she’d had for days now got so strong as soon as she approached her door – and call it coincidence but it always got stronger around any of those five, so she stayed indoors.
She had no way of knowing the reason it felt so strong were the five men each taking turns to sit outside and keep watch of her cabin for any sign of movement. Desperate to know she was okay; her feelings so strong, so painful it kept them awake at all hours, in less than 24 hours they had had to drag Mystery off her front step no less than three times. The poor demon whining pathetically each time, no caring how weird it may look to the other humans if he did sit outside her cabin for hours at a time.
Out of all his companions, Baby was the one giving Abby hell for what had happened to upset their mate. She didn’t know yet what they really were; that they weren’t as vulnerable as she thought, so making a reckless decision like that for some old snacks was utterly stupid. The muscular man just took the verbal onslaught until the former maknae was done. His patterns danced across his skin constantly, if their former master were still alive he would be having the time of his life tormenting the lovesick demon with this incident.
It was three days before she even stepped outside of the cabin, finally going to the canteen to collect more rations. But the moment (Y/N) stepped in the canteen she saw a familiar group sitting at the table closest to the door she turned and ran back to her sanctuary, food be damned. The five demons knew they could simply teleport into her cabin to get her to speak to them but that would only lead to more complications. They hardly slept; just watching her home, paying attention to the bond and waited for another opportunity to make things right.
(Y/N) sighed as she looked at her empty cupboards, too worried about running into any of the five again to go back to the canteen. Now she was going to starve. Wonderful. Trying to will something to eat out of thin air was interrupted by a knock at the door.
She waited a few moments, hoping whoever it was would leave, and when nothing further came she slid along the wall until she was close enough to sneak a look out from behind the curtain. No one was visible from this angle, so deciding to take a risk, she went to open the door.
A small box sat on the other side, at first (Y/N) thought it was probably a trap set by Duri. Lightly kicking it with her foot she heard the familiar sound of tins clacking against each other. Kneeling down to open the box she kept her head as far back as possible, but it was just rations waiting inside. Rations and a note. Looking around once more to make sure no one was watching, she brought the box inside and to her kitchen.
“Please look after yourself – even if you don’t want to see us. Signed, the Saja Boys
P.S. Sorry about what Baby wrote on the inside of the box, we didn’t have another one – Jinu”
Tilting her head at the last part, (Y/N) moved aside and lifted out the tins and cup noodles until she saw the extra message written in sharpie.
“Don’t be an idiot and starve yourself – Baby”
The laughter that bubbled out of her was sudden and beyond her control – making her feel lighter for the first time in days. Grabbing a tin of soup and cup of noodles to make her dinner, she stood at the worktop to eat, contemplating everything that had happened the past few days and deciding she wasn’t going to hide away any longer. Talking to the five men was still up for debate but for the time being but she would cross that bridge when she came to it.
That bridge appeared much, much sooner than she wanted when she stepped outside the next day to get back into her morning runs and immediately bumped into Baby and Abby.
“So you didn’t starve” Baby said as he looked her up and down with a bore expression. “You want to run with us?”
“Um, I’m not sure that’s a good idea” she mumbled as her eyes drifted to Abby, who was looking down at his feet, refusing to even glance at her.
“We don’t have to talk – in fact, I would prefer we don’t talk. I hate people who can keep a conversation going while running” Baby argued.
“Okay, got it. We’re just three people on a run.”
They set off at a moderate pace along the far fence line; a more secluded part of the camp especially in the early hours of the morning. She wasn’t used to other people being running with her – the silence feeling awkward at first but focusing on her pace and breathing and it was just like running by herself. The other two keeping in perfect pace with her for the first time quarter of the way but then Baby started to slow a bit.
“Baby, you okay? Want to take a break?” she slowed to a stop as she turned to look back at the shorter man, Abby pausing not long after and taking the distraction as an opportunity to look at her for the first time in days. It almost hurt to look at her. He didn’t know what Baby had planned when he dragged him out of his room this morning, but time wasn’t on their side, and he needed to make things right with (Y/N). Two months to get her to fall in love with the demons they were, two months to prevent whatever might possibly kill her.
“It’s my stomach, I don’t feel so good, must have been that porridge Mystery made last night” Baby groaned as he leaned forward in fake distress, arms wrapping around his midsection. Abby would owe him big time for this act, but it was the best plan he could think of. “I think I need to turn back – you two keep going.” And with that, Baby turned and hurried back towards the cabin, hoping Abby wouldn’t waste this opportunity.
(Y/N) kept watching the place she last saw Baby, hoping he would miraculously recover and come back. Maybe she should turn back? Abby must surely hate her after what happened, he couldn’t even look at her!
But she couldn’t make things right if she kept avoiding them.
“Shall we?” Abby’s deep voice brought her out of her internal panic. Turning back towards him, he looked at her with a sheepish smile, and her heart fluttered as her eyes met his.
“Yeah” she nodded, and with that the two kept running, pace picking up. Despite everything, there was something about Abby that was just a calming a presence. Whether it was when he was flexing and referring to himself as “the muscle” or moments like this where they just existed near each other, he was just easy to be around.
They were halfway through their run by the time she had mentally rehearsed her apology, so she was just trying to figure out how to break the silence.
“I’m sorry about the other day” he beat her to it, “it was stupid. Everything had been going so well that I forgot how quickly shit could hit the fan.”
“You’re…apologising to me? I slapped you!” (Y/N) stopped suddenly, nearly losing her balance as she looked at the man. “If anyone should apologise first, it’s me! That was too far – I’m so sorry.”
“No, I’m apologising first. You reacted in the moment to a scary situation.”
“No, there’s no excuse for what I did. I was supposed to be showing you what to do when out scavenging, if something had happened it would have been my fault.”
“Listen to me” Abby stepped closer, his hands moving to grab her shoulders but stopping inches away, she noticed. His deep brown eyes locked onto her, and she swore her insides were melting under the intensity. “I may not have been here long, but I notice things. I see you spending every moment alone, eating alone, working alone. Meanwhile, I have the four people who matter most to me – we don’t know what you’ve been through up until now but you’re clearly carrying the weight of it all alone.”
Her throat got tight at his observation – because she was trying to carry it all. Everyone in camp had lost someone since this had started. But Caleb’s death was all her fault, and that was something she would live with for the rest of her life. Tears threatened to spill.
“Hey, hey, hey – talk to me princess. It’s going to be okay.”
“I lost s-someone important, back when it all started. He got bit, and when that zombie almost got you, I-“ a small sob escaped her against her will. Hot tears rolling down her face and just wouldn’t stop. “Abby, I’m so sorry *sniff* can I hug you? Just for a second.”
“Take as long as you need princess.” She wrapped her arms around his midsection and rested her head on his chest, his heartbeat thumping against her ear and strong arms wrapped around her. This wasn’t how she thought it would go at all – she had known him less than a week and now she was crying on his shirt. It was definitely more than a second before she let go but Abby didn’t complain – she needed this.
-
“So how did farming duty go for the other three?” (Y/N) asked as they walked back to their respective cabins, rest of the run cancelled.
“Well Romance is now scared of chickens – they thought his hair looked tasty and he’s now convinced they’re out to get him.” Abby recalled with a small laugh. “Baby hated every second of it and won’t elaborate why other than it was the goat’s fault. And Myst has a promising future so long as they only use him as a scarecrow.”
“Wow, to think I missed out on that” she giggled. In the back of her mind (Y/N) wondered why she wasn’t more embarrassed for her moment of vulnerability, something about being in Abby’s arms just felt right. The pulling feeling was such a constant that she had become accustomed to it, but when she was near the five it was… different. Like it became slack, close to where she was supposed to be. Maybe it had just been so long since she had made connections that her brain was reminding her what that was.
“We still want to go scavenging” Abby said, hand rubbing the back of his neck as he looked at the trees above rather than at her. “But I’m worried who we could get to be our driver until one of us learns – what if they don’t rub Jinu’s back when he gets fuel in his mouth again and I have to see to him?” He looked at her in mock horror, hand on his chest and she couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled up and out at his dramatics.
“I’m sure you’ll be fine – no matter who you end up working with.” Before she knew it, they were back at the small section of path that could lead to either of their houses. She wanted to keep talking to him, and talk to the other four as well, but couldn’t figure out how to ask.
“(Y/N)? How lovely to see you” Romance’s voice broke the tension as he approached with Mystery in tow. “We saw Abby and were just coming to tell him breakfast is ready – would you like to join us?”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to impose…” (Y/N) looked between the three men; Abby and Romance were looking at her with small smiles and warmth in their eyes, and Mystery was practically vibrating from where he stood behind the longer-haired man, he desperately wanted to grab her hand and drag her into their cabin to share a meal with them again.
“You certainly wouldn’t be imposing – I made far too much; you would be doing us a favour.” Romance reassured her as he moved to put an arm around her shoulders. Only to slip on a small patch of mud and fall backwards into Mystery. He mentally cursed the higher being for putting the no touching rule in place. Abby distracted their mate from Romance’s clumsy moment long enough to right himself and the four retreated inside of the Saja Boys cabin for breakfast.
-
Mystery sat on one side of her at the table – legs folded underneath him and turned where he could face her. Food completely ignored as he stared at his mate – he had missed being close to her. Jinu and Abby were watching them from the other side of the table, mostly to make sure their companion didn’t go too feral when there were still walls up on their mate’s side.
Romance set bowls of porridge down in front of everyone before taking a seat the other side of (Y/N) and Baby casually sauntered in once the work was done to eat his own food, seated between Jinu and Abby.
“I thought you weren’t feeling well Baby?” (Y/N) questioned, his blue eyes widened for a moment before his usual neutral expression took over.
“I got better” was all he said in response. She raised an eyebrow as she looked between him and Abby, suspicious but still grateful in a way for the opportunity he gave her to try and make things right. Of all the survivors she had met, these five were among the strangest, it was curious how they had survived this long – and they never seemed to want to talk about where they had come from before they arrived at the camp. But they were putting in the work, and Jinu had even killed a fast one without issue. No matter who they teamed up with tomorrow, they would do well, she thought.
“Are you ready for us to go scavenging tomorrow (Y/N)?” Mystery asked.
“Hm?” she turned to look at the man, mouth full of porridge.
“You made up with Abby, and you’re speaking to us again. So that means we’re all leaving tomorrow, right?” He tilted his head to one side, a small section of hair falling away long enough for her to see one beautiful violet eye staring at her. Grains of rice stuck in her throat as she coughed, grabbing a cup of water off the table and taking several sips as all conversation ceased.
“I don’t know about that Myst” (Y/N) sat down the cup, refusing to look at any of the five men around her. “I’m happy to be speaking to you all again but… this will be new territory for me as well as all of you. We’d be travelling far away, sleeping in close quarters – and none of you know how to drive so we’d be sitting ducks when I’d eventually need to sleep.”
“So you don’t want to?” She made the mistake of looking over and her heart ached seeing him frown. How could someone pull off a sad puppy look while hiding their eyes? “We wouldn’t be any trouble; it won’t be the same if it’s not you…”
The light-haired demon was confused – he had snuck into her house while she was with Abby and found her bag packed. If it wasn’t for the scavenging expedition, then what reason did she have? Jinu had appeared and stopped him before he could look inside, rambling about the invasion of her privacy and he wouldn’t let Myst looking like a creepy stalker by taking any of her belongings. But she was their mate, and they would all live together eventually so what did it matter if Myst took a t-shirt that smelled like her now?
“I need time to think it over, I’m sorry.” Her head hung low, hair cascading over her face.
“We’re short on time idiot – you have until tomorrow” Baby bluntly stated, annoyed she still hesitated to let them in.
“Baby! Manners” Jinu barked right next to his ear, shaking the smaller man by his shoulder.
“It’s fine Jinu” (Y/N) sighed as she stood up from her seat, five pairs of eyes watching her every move, always observing her. “Given the circumstances I can’t be so indecisive – and that’s why you should look for someone else if you’re going to be scavengers. You’ll be safer with someone else.”
She turned and left, a small “thank you” over her shoulder to Romance for breakfast. Ignoring the pulling sensation that was crying out to stay. Ignoring the part of her mind that was begging her to take it back, she just kept walking back to her cabin, bags still to be packed.
Oblivious to the golden eyes all watching her; oblivious to the patterns flaring along skin and claws coming out. Not in anger – they would never be angry at their mate – just simply from pure instinct. Instinct to pull her back, keep her close and safe and never let her leave them behind again. Mystery’s head fell forward, his tusks leaving large scrapes in the wood. Baby groaned as he dragged his clawed hands down his face, small cuts appearing and healing themselves before he could even draw blood.
“So what now?” Romance asked as his head fell back over the top of the chair.
“I think I have a plan” Jinu replied as he looked down “I absolutely hate it, but it’s a plan.”
-
(Y/N) squinted against the harsh fluorescent lights above her; it had been so long since she had been in a building with electricity she had forgotten how evil the lights in some actually were. It took her a few seconds to adjust before she could look around at her location. Tiled flooring underneath; walls lined with glass storefronts, places to sit and small kiosks – it was a shopping centre. Not covered in blood and dirt with dead bodies; it was clean and bright and looked in order, just no other people.
Her footsteps echoed loudly in the silence of the large building. Glancing in shop windows and scanning all around her, but it was as if she were the only person in the world. It was an eerie sight when it looked normal, if there was evidence of zombies it would at least make some twisted sense.
Then the faint sound of voices caught her attention; boisterous laughter and people talking, getting louder and it sounded somewhat familiar. Following the sound around a corner her heart dropped as she daw Duri and his minions, knocking over displays in a small kiosk.
“There you are (Y/N)” Duri grinned as he saw her standing there. “Didn’t I tell you joining up with us would be fun? And this is just the beginning.” He walked towards her with a predatory look in his eyes as she kept taking steps back. This couldn’t be happening – she would never have willingly left camp with Duri. The antics of his minions continued on in the background -  not a weapon in sight between the group and yet they didn’t seem to care how much noise they made or what it could attract.
“Are you idiots trying to draw every zombie here?” she questioned with a glare.
“Now that’s not nice, we even brought your new friends along.” Duri grabbed her face harshly, forcing her head to look out the large glass doors. She couldn’t stop the sound of horror that left her at what she saw.
Jinu.
Abby.
Romance.
Mystery.
Baby.
All of them.
Hanging by their bound wrists from tree branches, gags muffling their voices as they fervently kicked their legs at the large swarm of zombies surrounding them. She fought as Duri’s arms wrapped around her, stopping her from getting to them, just laughing in her ear as more and more zombies surrounded the five.
(Y/N) broke out of Duri’s arms and woke up from the nightmare, falling out of her bed and landing with a thud on the floor.
Shooting back up and throwing the curtains open; the sun was just starting to rise – it was the day everyone was leaving for the first long scavenge. Which meant she still had time.
The nightmare may have been a bit ridiculous – she was sure Duri wouldn’t stand a chance in a fight against any of the five, but maybe it was more what the dream represented. That there were much, much worse people the Saja Boys could team up with if they were set on scavenging, and she didn’t want that. She didn’t want to give up her job.
She wanted to spend more time with the five – not that she would tell them that. So changing out of her jammies quickly and grabbing her bag, (Y/N) headed out towards the gates, completely forgetting the small box she took out of her bathroom cupboard the night before she was meant to pack.
-
The five demons stood leaning against the camper van they had convinced Ha-yoon to reserve for them. Duri and his cronies were giving them dirty looks as they waited for own vehicle to be sorted out. Jinu pinched the skin between his brows to try and thwart his headache. It was an underhanded trick they did with her dream, but they were desperate.
The bond pulled them all and they looked up just as they heard her footsteps approaching. Headaches and tiredness vanishing as they saw her running towards them, bag bouncing, face red and hair still slightly messy from sleep. Absolutely gorgeous.
“You still need a driver?” (Y/N) asked as she stopped in front of the five.
“We’re looking at her, aren’t we?” Jinu smiled as he dangled the key on his index finger between them. Her smile lit up the world around them as she slid it off his finger and unlocked the van, making her way to the driver’s seat. But before they could follow, the door was slammed shut as an unwelcome presence deemed it necessary to speak to them.
“Just wanted to let you gents know” Duri moved his hand off the van door as he spoke, a fake smile on his face as he glanced over the men, “I will be more than happy to take her off your hands once you’re sick of the frigid bitch. I’m sure I could break that.”
No one stopped Mystery as he growled at the pathetic excuse for a man – knowing exactly what he was implying. Abby kept his arm tight around Baby’s shoulders as he looked ready to pounce on the man. They were still forbidden from harming him until the being’s challenge was completed, so Duri would unfortunately get to live to see another day. Before anymore words could be exchanged the door suddenly flew open again, narrowly missing the sicko’s face as (Y/N) poked her head through in a manner her five mates found rather cute.
“Oh, do be careful Duri – that could have been bad” she remarked with a completely neutral face. “You boys ready to go?”
“You little bit-“
“Duri, a moment of your time please” captain Beom Seok interrupted as he gestured for the man to follow him, who begrudgingly left, muttering curses under his breath.
The five watched the pair disappear before climbing into the camper van, taking seats around the small table as Jinu stole the front passenger seat, looking over the map with (Y/N). Once situated and their first destination decided the group set off, excited chatter throughout for their first big adventure.

Colliding Worlds: Behind the Scenes
After the petrol station incident and the boys were done berating Abby, there was one thing still on their mind.
Baby: So you got some fuel in your mouth and threw up in front of (Y/N)? Pathetic
Jinu: I did not throw up! I was violently getting the taste out of my mouth 😒
Romance: How unfortunate 😂
Jinu: Fine then, let's see how you three do!
The four fly off to find some cars.
Romance, Baby and Mystery: Time to embarrass our boyfriend
5 minutes later
Romance: hugging his knees and rocking back and forth
Baby: chugging water faster than a bottle of hot sauce
Mystery: lying on the ground, daisy clutched in his hands, accepting death
Abby and (Y/N) : depression napping

Colliding Worlds (Isekai'd Saja Boys x Reader)
MDNI/18+
The Saja Boys get their first adventures with Reader
CW: sexual scenes, slight angst?, swearing, zombies, violence/blood/gore

Chapter 5
It was hot, (Y/N)’s body was on fire, skin coated in a layer of sweat and an intense need pulsed between her legs. First it was pitch black and silent wherever she was – then faint sounds in the darkness, before she knew it, before she knew it her feet were walking in the direction of the noises. Was that moaning she heard?
Sounds growing louder as she kept walking, moans and groans and – were those growls and purrs? Why do I know these voices she thought?
As if her footsteps triggered something, images flashed into her mind in time with the sounds. Jinu sitting in a chair with Baby on his knees in front of him, a hand in the teal hair as he threw his head back in bliss.
Then Abby and Mystery on the floor; clothes off, hips moving in sync as they had a messy kiss, teeth occasionally clashing, tongues fighting for dominance, drool running down Mystery’s chin as they breathed heavily. A sinful moan pulled her away from the two as she saw Romance sitting to the side with a view of the other four, jeans undone and erection free for all to see, one hand slowly moving up and down his shaft as the other played with the leaking tip.
The fire under her skin burned hotter as she took in what was happening and her thighs grew wet with her own arousal. Her breathing grew shallow as she took in the beautiful sight unfolding – when it came to dreams this was certainly a first for her. They all looked so beautiful; faces flushed, lips red and wet, hips moving in near perfect sync between the five as their climaxes approached. (Y/N) whined as she grew wetter just watching them – jealous of each man as they all touched each other and desperately wanting to join them, make them feel good and made to feel good by them.
Just as the heat was becoming unbearable, the ground fell out from under her and she landed harshly on a patch of kicked up grass. Gasping at the loss of pleasure, her skin growing cold and clammy as she looked around. A collapsed wire fence; abandoned vehicles, tents stained with red and the sounds of zombies and people screaming.
With horror, (Y/N) realised she was back at that day.
Scrambling to her feet she looked around and just like back then his figure was stood at the open gate, still facing away from her. Not wanting to relive the painful memory she turned and ran in the opposite direction – but after a few steps she was somehow running towards him rather than away. Her shoes digging into the dirt she tried turning away and running once more, only for him to be closer once again. Every time she turned, no matter which direction she tried to run, (Y/N) just got closer to him.
“I waited for you” his voice rang out in her head as she doubled over, hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath.
“No, no, no” she whispered like a mantra “Just a dream, just a dream, it’s just a dream!”
“I waited for you.”
His shoes appeared in her line of sight as she kept looking at the ground. Long legs in black jeans, his grey t-shirt was stained red. Everything was just like that day. And she knew this nightmare wouldn’t end until she looked at his face but she just couldn't bring herself to do that. It would be his face but also not – because this was her punishment for everything, why she couldn’t let people close. She would only ruin their lives.
“I. Waited. For. You.” As if fed up with her cowardice, a hand covered in the dark lines of decaying veins under skin grabbed her by the jaw and forced her to look up into those painfully familiar eyes and watch as they clouded over.
“Caleb!” she bolted upright in her bed with a shout of his name. Panting, looking around as she reached for the frying pan she kept next to her bed – the only “weapon” available in the house as the sharp ones were only given out before leaving camp – she analysed her room for any threats. Just to be met with bare walls and clothes piled on the floor, her damp sheets kicked down to the bottom of the bed along with her jammies, the heat that she had experienced when trying to sleep long gone.
Setting the pan down and running her hands through her hair, messy and tangled from sleep she let out a long sigh. Another damned dream to fuck with her head. The smallest slivers of sunlight were starting to creep through the clouds – figuring she had time until her meetup with the five newcomers she pulled on the same shorts and t-shirt as yesterday and went for another run to try and empty her mind.
-
Jinu was first to wake up among the five demons after their activities had moved from the dining room to the bedroom where they had pushed together a double and single bed to make enough room for the group. His head on Abby’s chest and Mystery lying directly on top of him, he definitely wasn’t going to be the first to actually get out of the bed.
His body hurt but it was worth it after everything the five had gotten up to; bruises and bite marks scattered all over their bodies, hips and shoulders already healing claw marks, hair sticking out everywhere and scalp still sensitive from pulling. Now they could all wake up and bask in the soft afterglow, make jokes about who was the chew toy for the night, gently kiss the marks they remembered making, proud of their work before it healed and they’d have blank canvases once more.
Mystery nuzzled into his stomach as his arms tightened around the other man’s waist, small purrs rumbling through him as Jinu’s hand ran through his hair. Romance crawled over from the opposite end of the bed to place kisses along his back, slowly making his way up until he was near enough to lean up on his arms and pull Jinu in for a tender kiss.
“I could get used to waking up to this” Abby teased as his fingers lightly brushed the tangle of legs next to him, Baby humming in agreement from where his head rested on the pink-haired demon’s abbs. “No voices, no stupid talking fire bossing us around – but maybe we could add a certain cutie into the mix.”
“Are we still in trouble?” Mystery lifted his head to look at the other four, hair falling away just enough to reveal one violet eye.
“Nah, we all definitely made up after last night” Romance said as he lightly pushed the tip of Mystery’s nose with his finger before following it with a peck on the lips.
“So no round 2? Shame” Baby teased.
“More like round 5” Abby laughed as he slapped the teal-haired demon’s back.
“No time – we have an important meeting today, remember?” Jinu interrupted as he tried to unwrap the multiple arms from his body. “We need to shower, eat and get ready. And no funny business.” Romance moved aside to let him out of the bed, their fingers brushing as he made his way towards the bathroom for a quick shower.
As they all meandered about the cabin trying to get organised and make something decent for breakfast they could feel the pulse of the bond to their mate. Slightly tense, heart racing, her morning evidently hadn’t started as well as the rest of them. Once she was theirs they would make sure she woke up every day feeling safe, secure and satisfied. They sensed when she was approaching, and all moved to the window to watch as she ran back to her cabin, breathing heavily, sweat running down her skin. Breakfast just didn’t look as appetising after that.
-
(Y/N) tapped her foot repeatedly against the leg of the chair she was sat in as the six waited for vehicle assignment to bring the keys. She was used to this taking a few minutes but with the new companions a larger vehicle was required to fit them all and waiting around when Duri or his minions could appear at any moment was the last thing she wanted.
“Sorry miss (Y/N)” Ha-yoon returned to speak with them “all the camper vans are under strict control – no going out until the long trips start next week. We have two cars available if that’s any use.”
“It’s okay Ha-yoon, not ideal but we can manage with that. How many of you know how to drive?” she asked as she turned to the five men – only to be met with blank looks. “None of you know how to drive? Seriously?”
“We just… haven’t found the time” Jinu awkwardly smiled at her as they others either shrugged or avoided looking at her altogether.
“We won’t all fit in one car, shit!” she groaned.
“You’re taking sheet duty today and fuel tomorrow, right?” Ha-yoon interrupted. “You could take three out today and two out tomorrow. I know lumber group could use some help today.” In his helpfulness, Ha-yoon somehow didn’t notice the widening eyes of the five men – an internal fight brewing over who would go with (Y/N) today and who would go tomorrow.
“No other choice really – I know it’s not ideal for you five, but we don’t have many options.” (Y/N) looked apologetically at the five – they were willing to give her a chance and now they were being split up between two different jobs.
“Don’t worry about it sweetheart, not your fault” Romance interjected. “Baby, Mystery and myself will go with you today and Abby & Jinu can go with you tomorrow.”
“Wait, wait, wait! Shouldn’t (Y/N) decide who goes with her first?” Abby objected as he tried to place a hand on her shoulder, but before the two knew it, the aforementioned lumber team had heard this and grabbed Abby and Jinu to drag them away to where they were departing from. Comments floating through the air complimenting the demons on how muscular they were. (Y/N)’s brow furrowed slightly in concern for the pair as they were dragged off.
“Don’t worry cutie, they’ll be fine” Baby’s voice pulled her back to the three men remaining. “Shall we head out now?” With a small nod, (Y/N) unlocked the car and took her seat behind the wheel as Baby stole the front seat and the other two climbed into the back. The five seemed really close, so surely they know best how the others would get on, she thought. Starting the engine and moving off, the gates opening to let them go, and they set off in the direction of a hotel an hour’s drive away.
The drive started off painfully awkward for (Y/N); absolute silence in the car, the feeling of three pairs of eyes watching her every move, her skin flushing as memories of her dream came back to her mind. But then Caleb came to mind, and she felt queasy with guilt once more. If only there were music for some background noise but the only sound on the radio would be the occasional broadcast from other camps claiming they would be the best bet for survival. She missed having a CD player in cars, Bluetooth was no use at the end of the world.
Though the three demons could feel she was tense they were just happy to be this close in her company. They had hours to spend with their mate and were so fascinated watching her up close they didn’t even notice how silent it was. She drove so confidently – they were captivated as her hands moved between the steering wheel and changing gears, her eyes flicking occasionally to the mirrors to check their surroundings, they studied the shape of her face and how her hair fell. It was several minutes before any of them even thought to speak.
“So, what exactly is sheet duty?” Romance asked as he placed his hands lightly on the sides of the driver seat in front of him.
“It’s a type of supply run” (Y/N) began to explain as the air around her practically vibrated from the proximity to him. “We need to make sure there’s enough clean sheets and towels in camp; stuff gets washed as best as we can but sometimes things just can’t be salvaged – especially in the medical centre. So whenever people are free we go to hotels nearby and gather what we can. It’s not exactly glamorous but it’ll give you an idea of what we need to do – scope out the area, be aware of your surroundings, figuring out how much you can load up and knowing when to drop everything and run.”
It felt strange talking this much – when had she last had a conversation with someone? She wondered if her voice sounded as strange to the three men as it did to her.
“What exactly do you mean by drop everything and run? They gave us weapons, right?” Baby spoke up at that.
“Just machetes and knives – and I’m not eager enough to get in range of the fast ones for those to be useful. If things get dangerous, like a group of newly turned ones comes charging our way, we need to get out. Our lives matter more than some fitted sheets.” She glanced briefly at the teal-haired man’s expression and saw a brief flash of something that looked like concern before he went back to his standard bored look. “We should be fine as long as we don’t make too much noise, this area’s been mostly quiet for months. It’s the cities that are still the most dangerous.”
“Do we go into the cities for the longer scavenges?” Romance jumped in, eager to learn more but also worried about the danger his mate had possibly put herself in for the sake of the others at the camp – people who had the audacity to call her cold.
“I try not to but it’s becoming more necessary as supplies are picked clean. The longer scavenges are for prioritising food and medical supplies so supermarkets and pharmacies come first. Hospitals are a bit riskier because a lot of infected got brought there in the beginning, before they knew what was happening. Then there’s the quarantine camps the army ran in the beginning when everyone was being evacuated – but those were all overrun a few days to a few weeks into it.”
Her throat grew tight thinking about one particular camp, because it just made her think about Caleb. About him standing at the gate and now she wanted to cry.
The other three felt like they had been punched in the stomach as her sadness and guilt overwhelmed the bond. They didn’t know what she was thinking about, only that it caused her great pain. Baby and Romance shared a look as they tried to think of a distraction, anything to get her mind off whatever made her sad.
“I miss fried chicken” Mystery popped up, the first thing he had said since they all met up earlier. The other demons looked at him in disbelief – where had that come from? “It was my favourite, I  wonder how hard it would be to male at the camp.” Baby wanted to hit him, and Romance could only facepalm at his companion’s sudden craving, but a small snort and laugh brought them back to their driver.
“Oh, fried chicken was the best! And bulgogi. And gimbap. I would always make sure to get some to eat at home after I got dragged to drinks with my coworkers.” (Y/N) giggled as all the nights she snuck away after her coworkers were tipsy enough to get fried chicken and an assortment of snacks for a late-night dinner, her reward for socialising and politely listening to her colleagues gossip for a few hours on a Friday night when she just wanted to start her weekend.
“I’d like us to eat all of those together, maybe we’ll find a recipe book” Mystery said as he leaned forward, head poking between the front seats and (Y/N) thought she might die from the cuteness of the strange man.
“That would be lovely, if you decide to become scavengers we can add a recipe book to the list.” She knew there was a chance they wouldn’t want to join her, but for the moment it was nice to think it was possible.
-
The lumber team seemed so jovial when they had pulled Abby and Jinu away – and during their breaks they were the same, but while working it was a serious matter. Chopping sections from felled trees with axes was hard work for the mortals. And even under the high sun Jinu found himself starting to break into a sweat. It was a repetitive task, and their mate was miles away with their three companions who would do who knows what when unsupervised.
Abby was left to split logs by himself, each one split perfectly in half with a single swing of the axe overhead. His hoodie had been set to the side ages ago and his shirt was clinging to his torso with sweat almost as tightly as the undersized shirts he wore as an idol. Though the task was slightly different it brought him back to his blacksmithing days.
It had been some 300 years ago when he worked as a blacksmith. Taking over from his late father and now responsible for providing for his mother and younger siblings, long hours in front of the forge, humming the tunes his sisters would sing in the house, and just making enough for their family to survive. He put everything into his work in the hopes it would be picked up by soldiers higher up in society, then his family would never worry about money again.
That’s when Gwi-ma had first spoken to him, a horrible voice in the back of his head, promising him everything he wanted and more. Thinking only of what life could be Abby had made the deal without hesitation. Soldiers flooded his shop in no time begging him to make their armour and weapons.
He thought it a miracle at first as the orders were placed and money poured in; his family ate so well and bought finer clothes than they had worn in years. But the number of orders kept growing and the soldiers grew impatient – not caring about quality, just needing new armour, new weapons right away. It reached its boiling point when a captain refused to let him rework the sword he requested when Abby noticed it wasn’t right; he couldn’t point to a specific flaw, but after a lifetime learning from his father and working on these himself he just knew it was faulty. The captain didn’t listen and refused to take a different sword and died in battle soon after as the blade snapped in two against an enemies.
Abby was blamed for the death of the captain and knew no peace afterwards. He refused to go home or open the shop to customers and orders were left to sit unfinished. The patterns appeared everywhere almost overnight and by the time he was taken to hell he had no fight left in him. He sat for decades just staring at the fire that was now his master – until he met Jinu, and eventually the others. The four demons who carried him out of his despair and found ways to make him smile, who held him when nightmares left him waking in a cold sweat and who he literally died for.
A familiar hand gripped his arm suddenly and brought him out of his memories.
“Abbs, take a break, you’ll go through the whole forest at this rate” Jinu removed the axe from his tight grip, and only once his momentum was broken did the muscular man realise how hard he was breathing, and the piles of split logs on each side of him. “You went back there again huh?”
He could only nod at Jinu, throat closing up as he rested his head on the other’s shoulder. The guilt and shame were still there, but the voices were gone, and it was the strangest feeling. Lighter, he felt lighter.
“Weird isn’t it? Not hearing the voices” Jinu whispered as he placed a hand on the back of his neck and soothingly rubbed circles into his skin.
“Yeah… but a good weird.”
-
There were abandoned cars all around the front of the hotel, windows smashed and the doors hanging open. And the occasional dead body on the ground or slumped in a car. (Y/N) parked as close to the entrance as possible, trying to keep the car concealed in case someone else happened along and decided to play grand theft auto.
“Alright, grab a weapon, then I’ll scope out the lobby and if it’s all clear we start looking for the sheets” she drummed her hands lightly on the steering wheel and unbuckled her seatbelt as she looked at the trio.
“Are you sure you should be scoping it out first?” Romance asked as his eyes moved from her face to the building.
“Yes, because this is new territory for you and one person running back to the car is less risk than four.” She lightly patted the top of the pink-haired man’s hand that rested on her seat as a way to say she would be fine before hopping out of the car and grabbing a machete from the boot. Walking along the grass quickly and keeping close to the side of the building, (Y/N) poked her head through the open doors, always listening for the familiar noises of the zombies, as she looked around for any signs of movement. What once would have been a lovely place for respite was covered in dust and cobwebs, mould climbing up the walls, someone had either the time or lack of self-preservation to spray paint a cock and balls on one wall.
But no zombies or hostile survivors to be seen. Turning to go back and let the others know it was okay to go in, she startled and fell on her ass as Mystery was right behind her with the other two not far away either.
“What happened to waiting in the car?” she looked up at the three colourful-haired men from her new place on the ground.
“Car was boring” Baby replied as he crouched down near her, extending his hand with a playful smirk.
“Boring is safe – if your hair didn’t stick out so much I could have stabbed one of you.” Taking his hand and standing up, brushing her ass and hoping it wasn’t covered in dirt. “What was your plan if there was a zombie in there and I was about to run back?”
“One of us could carry you and run.”
“Okay, let’s just go inside. Let’s work on following directions and sticking to the plan in there.” Turning away from Baby and the others and walked inside hearing their footsteps keep pace with her. Walking down a corridor and testing doors they eventually found the storage room for sheets and towels.
“Right, start grabbing towels and sheets, we’ll need to make a couple trips to fill up the car, and once it’s full we can head back. Maybe I can even teach you how to fold a fitted sheet.”
“I’m sure there’s a lot you can teach us” Romance teased as he started collecting folded towels and making her blush at the implications. “Does the best pupil get a reward?” The other two turned to stare at her upon hearing the word reward – they were like dogs hearing the word biscuit.
“A crisp high five for the winner” she said with a straight face as she turned and started grabbing sheets. They took turns with one taking a bundle and walking back to the car with another, weapon in hand just in case. Everything just seemed to fall into an easy rhythm with them even as they teased each other and her. Once the car was filled she and Romance were making their way back to tell the others when he stopped.
“Romance? You okay?” (Y/N) asked as she took a couple steps back towards the pretty man.
“I was just thinking about my reward – I definitely did the best job folding a fitted sheet and I would say I brought the most back to the car” he grinned at her as he held his hand in the air.
“I was joking.”
“You’re really going to leave me hanging?”
With a small smile at his antics she lightly slapped her palm against his, but before she could pull away his fingers intertwined with hers and stole the breath from her lungs. He looked deep into her eyes as sparks flew, and her heart thundered in her chest. She was frozen to the spot as he looked at her like a work of art, eyes soft and warm. When was the last time she felt so worshipped?
His eyes moved down her face, stopping at her lips. The plan was to see just how far he could take touching when they were stuck following that being’s rules, but the second his skin touched hers all he could think about was her – nothing else mattered but getting closer to his mate. That was how he found himself leaning down to kiss her.
Only for the spell to be broken as a familiar groaning sounded around the corner. She whipped away from Romance and raised her machete as Baby and Mystery walked out of the other room to see what was going on. It was a slow moving one; chunks of flesh missing all over its torso, shorts filthy with dried blood and only wearing one shoe. It kept bumping into the wall as it walked towards them, mouth opening wide enough for the rotting flesh of its mouth to split as it approached.
Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) slashed the zombie across the neck with her machete, then struck the blade down into the top of its head as it lost balance. The blade got stuck slightly when she tried to pull it out, a small spray of blood scattering across the floor when she finally managed to pull it free.
“Okay, time to go home – not a drop everything and run moment but close enough” she pivoted and saw the three looking at her with wide eyes. Well, two with wide eyes, Mystery’s expression was still hidden under a curtain of hair. “What’s wrong?”
“You killed it like it was no big deal” Baby stated as he looked from her to the corpse.
“Not my first time” she replied with a shrug as she herded the men back towards the car, ready for dinner and a nap. The three demons were shocked by how she acted in the moment; but they had only been in this world a few days now, no knowledge of what she had been through before or during this, and it was evident they had much to learn about their human mate.
The day concluded for the six with no further issues; reuniting with Abby and Jinu who were waiting at the gates for them, the five proceeded to beg (Y/N) to join them for dinner in the canteen until she agreed with a shake of her head at their antics. They all sat at a table towards the back of the canteen, trying to ignore the stares from some of the other survivors, she watched in amazement as the five men all put away two to three servings of dinner, assuming they just had big appetites and not that they were placating their hunger for souls with food. It felt nice to sit and have a meal with people again – if they actually wanted to keep working with her it might actually be fun.
-
The following day started much the same except Mystery, Baby and Romance were dragged off to assist the farming team as her, Abby and Jinu set off for fuel duty. A more self-explanatory job, they went to fuel stations and siphoned what they could from vehicles and tanks for use back at camp. It was slightly more tedious as multiple stops were made in order to make it worthwhile.
Abby sat in the front seat as Jinu pouted in the back, fiddling with the radio and only hearing static.
“Whose idea was it to get rid of CD players anyway? Lame” the muscular man complained as he slumped back in his seat, efforts unsuccessful.
“My thoughts exactly” (Y/N) replied as she glanced at the man, finding his amusement in his light-hearted antics.
“Stop with the pouting Jinu – if you wanted to sit up front you should have been quicker.”
“I am not pouting” the dark-haired man replied as he leaned forward and flicked the side of Abby’s arm. “I’m just taking this seriously – (Y/N) had to kill a zombie yesterday, we need to be prepared.”
“It was a slow one, not that big a deal” she interrupted, the way he said it made it feel like she took on a boss battle in a game. “If things get bad, we drop everything and run, just like we talked about.”
“But it won’t go bad princess – you’ve got the muscle with you today” Abby joked as he flexed one arm and smirked at her. She rolled her eyes as she could see what he was doing in her peripheral vision but the small smile twitching at the corner of her mouth felt like a victory. The Saja Boys had sat down after seeing their mate home the previous night to discuss what had happened for each team. Despite not being a demon hunter; their mate was clearly stronger than they had assumed, even with them planning to help her on scavenging expeditions and keep her away from Duri, there was clearly something on her mind. Her sadness could be felt by the pair through the bond despite the distance. They would do anything to alleviate her sadness, wanting only to see her happy with them.
“Here’s our first stop – who wants to keep watch and who wants to help me siphon?” (Y/N) parked in the entrance of the station.
“I’ll keep watch first – have fun Jinu” Abby said as he climbed out of the car and grabbed a machete from the boot.
“You heard the man” she shrugged and got out the car and grabbed a hose and petrol can from the car, Jinu clambering out the back and hurrying after the woman as Abby took stance a few feet away. “Fair warning – you do not want to get fuel in your mouth. I’ll take the first car to show you how it’s done.”
She opened the fuel cap on the side of the first abandoned vehicle and double checked it wasn’t a diesel. Then took one end of the hose and guided it inside and slid down until she was fairly confident it was at the bottom of the tank. Getting the fuel can at the ready she placed the other end of the hose in her mouth and sucked to get the fuel moving; removing it before any could get in her mouth, placing it into the can once the petrol was flowing and silently happy it worked first try in front of her audience.
Jinu watched as his mate essentially performed a magic trick and got the petrol to flow out of the car and into the can. She remained crouched down monitoring the liquid until it started slowing down, then pinched the top end of the hose and removed it from the car, the remaining petrol flowing the rest of the way down the hose before she sealed the can.
“You ready to try?” (Y/N) asked as she stood up and face him.
“I… suppose I am?” Jinu phrased it more as a question than an answer as they walked to the other car sat closer to the building.
“You’ll be fine, even if it takes a few tries. Just guide the hose in as far as you can – the hard part is sucking to start the flow, if it gets in your mouth it’s absolutely disgusting.” Setting up the hose and can was no issue and Jinu assumed nothing could be worse than the hot sauce challenge he took part in for the Saja Boys debut. How wrong he was when he sucked harshly and a splash of the foul-smelling liquid entered his mouth, making him drop the hose and double over coughing and retching.
A small hand rubbed his back as he remained on his hands and knees on the ground for several minutes, spitting into the grass and considering the flames of Gwi-ma to be preferrable to this. If the honmoon existed in this world he would be pulling at it until he got any weapon to put himself out of his misery.
When he finally stopped retching he looked up to a bottle of water being held towards him in the spare hand of (Y/N), her other one still gently rubbing his back. Wiping his chin on his sleeve, Jinu gratefully took the water, using the first few sips to rinse out his mouth and drinking the rest.
“Well you threw up less than I did my first time” she remarked, a small laugh bubbling out of the embarrassed man despite everything. “Are you okay?”
“I will be – at least Baby wasn’t here to witness it. He would only make the situation much worse, the brat. Thank you, for helping.” Jinu stood up, groaning as he looked down at the petrol still pouring out of the hose and onto the ground.
“Don’t worry about it, we still have a few places we can visit before we go back to camp.” She took the hose out with the same care as before and started walking back to the car. He slowly followed after her as they rejoined Abby, his friend just patting him on the back in a completely Abby way that said, “I’m not going to laugh at you for this…for now.”
Their next destination was a layby on the road with three cars left sitting. Switching tasks, Abby went to try his hand at siphoning this time while Jinu stood watch. With slightly more success they managed to completely fill the first can and start on a second between two of the motors, the third one unfortunately empty. This continued as they kept driving and trying more abandoned cars until they reached another petrol station.
Jinu once more stood guard as the other two began siphoning from the three cars left sitting. Abby had picked up the technique quickly and worked with no issue through two of the cars before (Y/N) made him switch places to give him a break from the fumes. By the time she was finished with the last car the sun was starting its slow descent from the sky. Turning to say to the pair it was time to head back – she concerningly only found Jinu with her.
“Where’s Abby?” she shot to her feet, almost knocking over the can.
“He was just here, he won’t have gone far” Jinu reassured as he looked around, eyes landing on the open doors of the station. “The big goof probably went looking for snacks – Abbs! Get over here!”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m on my way” he responded as the pink-haired man casually sauntered back out of the station, two bags of crisps in each hand.
“You trying to scare us, man?” Jinu teased as he walked towards him, trying to steal one of his snacks out of his hands. But before they could continue their jokes a zombie came flying out of a door marked staff only and charged at them, only slightly slowed down by the shelves it crashed into. (Y/N) screamed as she charged towards them, but she was too far away, too slow, she couldn’t save them.
A knife went through the eye socket of the zombie, courtesy of Jinu, pushing it away by the shoulder as a sickening squelch sounded as the knife was dislodged. He panted as he looked down at the corpse, keeping his back to (Y/N) as his eyes turned golden and patterns crept up his neck and the scream of his mate echoing in his head.
“We’re okay (Y/N), we’re okay” Abby said as he kept himself between the two until Jinu could get himself under control again. “We’re all okay.”
Jinu didn’t see the slap, but he certainly heard it. Not even caring if his patterns were still on show he whipped around, Abby’s left cheek red and (Y/N) lowering her hand. Hot, angry tears threatened to spill down her face as she looked up at the man.
“What were you thinking?! You shouldn’t have wandered off!” she shrieked as her hands balled into fists at her side.
“I didn’t think a few steps inside would be that bad, just to get some snacks for the drive back” Abby said as he slowly raised a hand to his cheek. In 300 years no one had slapped him – but seeing his usually calm mate lose her temper with him was what shocked him. The tears threatening to spill from her eyes hurt more than anything, he never wanted to be the reason she cried.
“You could have gotten bit! You could have DIED!” (Y/N) cried as she looked at the man. She had been so scared – she let people in and almost lost them the same as Caleb. This was why she didn’t let people close, because being left behind in this world was the worst pain she had ever experienced. “Just get in the car – we’re going back” and with a deep breath, she turned her back on the two and climbed into the car, furiously rubbing her eyes for a few seconds as the two climbed in after her, she didn’t look at either the entire way back. On return to camp, she simply dropped the fuel and key off and marched straight back to her cabin, ignoring any attempts the five made to talk to her.

Colliding Worlds (Isekai'd Saja Boys x Reader)
MDNI/18+
CW: swearing, slight mentions of violence, sexual scenes
Word count 4,483
A/N: This chapter has been the most fun to write so far and I have much more in mind for the future. Also, all your comments have given me so much joy while writing this ily guyssss
Chapter 4
The disembodied voice echoed throughout the room; it was gentle and calm but commanded their attention.
“Jinu. Mystery. Abby. Romance. Baby. The legendary Saja Boys, now so far from home.”
“Who are you?” Jinu questioned as his head whipped around, searching for any sign of their apparent captor.
“My name has long been forgotten, the people who worshipped me lost to time, but I have always been here. I watched Gwi-ma come into being, the birth of the hunters… and your defeat to the most recent generation. Now I see you in another world… but with the chance of making a home there.”
An image of (Y/N) appeared before them among the nothingness, she was pacing around her room and chewing on her thumb nail anxiously. They all knew she was worried after her discussion with the captain they may have been spying on, desperate to comfort her, to pull her into their arms and reassure her that no one would lay a hand on her again. A low growl vibrated out of Abby as his claws dug into the palms of his hands, ready to fight his way back to her.
“Your fated mate, despite being born into different worlds, you were destined to find her. But destiny is a fickle thing – you may be destined to spend a lifetime with her, or you may be destined to bring about her demise like the demons you are.”
The flinches and recoils varied in severity between the five at the last part. They would never dream of hurting her!
“How dare you say that!” Baby snapped, fangs bared. “You’re just a voice, you don’t know what we would do for her. Show you face and I’ll-“
He froze mid-sentence; they all froze in place, unable to talk or move and it wasn’t by their choice.
The image of their mate pacing was replaced by golden threads which wove themselves into an image of a woman standing on a path, walking towards a fork in the road.
“My patience is running thin” the voice took a harder edge, “I brought you here for a discussion and you will listen to what I have to say. Before the end of the year, your mate may possibly die. She is standing at a crossroads of destiny; she might not die but she might not live. If it were up to me, I would eliminate you all immediately but the effects that would bring about are too unpredictable – that may be what seals her fate and she would die. Though I have my doubts, you may have been brought here to save her. So I wish to issue a challenge.”
More images flickered before the men – but these were of things that had never happened.
(Y/N) on a run with Jinu; Abby’s arms wrapped around her as they chopped wood with an axe, sitting between Romance’s legs as he brushed her hair, preparing a meal with Baby in a kitchen and Mystery lying in her lap, a hand gently running through his hair. Then more of the six of them together, sleeping in a tangle of limbs in a large bed, fighting for turns to kiss her, (Y/N) running a hand along the backs of their necks as they sat on a couch before disappearing into another room – her shirt landing on the floor just past the doorway before they all clambered in the same direction.
“You may speak now” the force that had them frozen ebbed away slowly.
The other four turned to Jinu, their leader, to take over the discussion.
“What exactly do you mean by challenge?” he questioned, looking straight ahead as if he could will a figure into existence for the voice.
“For the next two months you must meet these conditions; you will not consume any human souls nor harm or kill a human who is not infected, and you must get her to love all of you. Demon and all. If you can meet these conditions then you will be allowed to live out your lives with your mate.”
“And if we fail?” Jinu hesitantly asked.
“Then you will be sealed away here for all of eternity. And every time your mate reincarnates you will be forced to watch from here as she lives without you. You will never hear her voice or touch her; you will watch as she grows, as she falls in love with others, until she ceases to reincarnate altogether.”
Blood turned to ice in their veins.
An eternity of seeing her but never able to get close or even hear her voice. Where others would be the reason she smiled. Now that they had found her, they couldn’t imagine a life without her, especially trapped here. But the risk that she might die so soon hung over their heads, they had to be there to protect her from whatever threat was coming.
“We accept” they all said in unison.
“I had a feeling you would” the voice echoed around them. “And to make sure you can’t manipulate an innocent soul, you will be unable to touch her unless she initiates for the first two weeks, and for the final two weeks the bond will be “muted” shall we say.”
“What?” Jinu croaked.
“You can’t be serious…” Romance muttered.
Abby and Mystery were leaning against each other in dismay. Baby looked like he was ready to pull his hair out.
“How could you even stop us from initiating physical contact?” Jinu questioned.
“Something will coincidentally intervene whenever you try to touch her without her initiating it” the voice plainly stated.
“Why would you do this?” Baby asked as his fingers dragged down his face.
“Because I don’t like you.”
And with those parting words, a bright light engulfed them all and blinded them briefly as they felt the ground give out beneath their feet. Their vision returned in time to greet the living room of the cabin in camp as they all landed in a pile on the floor just inches shy of the couch. Untangling from the pile first was Baby – who grabbed Mystery and quickly moved to another room from their complaining friends, a plot already forming to get them closer to their cute mate.
-
(Y/N) paced her living room and kitchen until her feet hurt. One week to find people to start scavenging with. One week to try and socialise with the people she had been avoiding for the better part of a year and gain enough trust to bring them out of camp and on the road for days at a time. Or else she’d be forced to go with Duri’s group until a spot opened up shovelling shit for the crops – or until either her or Duri wound up dead in a ditch at the side of the road. Whichever came first.
Totally not a nightmare situation.
Taking a deep breath for the dozenth time since returning home, (Y/N) first tried to remember who else already went scavenging in smaller groups that she could team up with. There was the two women who she had seen leaving at the same time as her before; she remembered watching them plait each other’s hair and felt a pang in her chest, longing for the closeness they had for herself, someone to share small tender moments with…
No, no, no, (Y/N)! she thought – no thinking about that stuff right now!
There was also a group of teens who were allowed to go simply because there had been a lack of volunteers initially and they were desperate to go. But they were reckless and loud and acted like the whole thing was a game. Not good for her method of discreetly moving and collecting supplies.
Anyone related to Duri the menace and his team were an immediate no.
She couldn’t even remember who else might have experience in scavenging; some swapped jobs every chance they got and others, well, others had left as much as months ago and never returned. Her only other option was to bring along people who were looking for jobs – but who? She simply didn’t know enough people within the camp to ask for help. The other survivors viewed her as a loner if they were putting it politely, much worse when they weren’t so nice.
Feeling a headache coming on, she decided to sleep on it and continue looking for the answer later. Too tired to even make it to her bedroom (Y/N) flopped onto the couch on her side and closed her eyes.
She didn’t know how long she had been asleep for when a warm presence started to bring her out of her dreamless nap. She felt it along her back first, followed by a gentle touch running along her arm, long fingers playing with her own. A content sigh escaped her as she tried to follow the touch, feeling calmer and safer than she had in so long.
“Time to wake up princess” a familiar deep voice whispered along the shell of her ear. She moaned in reply as she tried to sink further into the comforting warmth, eyes still closed.
“Open your eyes pretty girl” a second voice whispered, another set of hands gently running up her legs, stopping just above the knee.
(Y/N) opened her eyes and was met with Baby and Mystery sitting next to her – but rather than the couch she fell asleep on she was in a large bed in an unfamiliar room. Bewildered; she looked around before a flash of colour drew her attention back to the two men, as eyes flashed golden and glowing markings appeared along their skin for a moment before disappearing once more.
Ah, (Y/N) thought, I’m dreaming. Of course two of the gorgeous men she met earlier that day would appear in her dreams. Despite the weird colour thing it was a nice change from her usual dreams. Sitting up, the pair placed hands on her shoulders and the small of her back and guided her out of the bed, leading her somewhere in this dream house. The three walked down the hallway into a kitchen where they sat her at a stool by the island where a steaming mug of coffee waited for her. Baby sat next to her, running a hand through her bed head with one hand as he leaned against the other with a small smile on his face.
Taking a sip of the coffee (Y/N) moaned in bliss at the taste, made just the way she liked it and the perfect temperature. The moment she set the mug down a piece of melon appeared in her vision on a fork, the other end held by Mystery as he brought it towards her mouth. Without hesitation she opened her mouth and allowed him to feed her the piece of fruit. The juices burst on her tongue, and she happily ate a few more pieces, all fed to her by the long-haired man.
“You enjoy that princess?” Baby questioned as he leaned closer to her.
“It’s so good” she replied, looking between the two men and thinking about how this was the most vivid dream she had ever had.
“It’s what you deserve – to be looked after and pampered. We knew you would appreciate it, and there’s more to come.” In a flash, both men were standing either side of her, hands resting lightly on her thighs and their hot breath at her neck. Heat rushed up her face and pooled in her stomach at their touch, the smell of the duo intoxicating, soft hair tickling her face.
“We’re here for you pretty girl” Mystery’s voice sent shivers down her spine. “Whatever you need – we’re here for you. Me, Baby and the other three were meant to find you. We know something’s bothering you, just ask us for help and we’ll be there.”
(Y/N) felt lightheaded at their proximity and words. Her dreams hadn’t been this steamy in years. But the idea of help, of people there for her was so comforting, she had been trying to do everything by herself for so long. Would it really by that bad to let someone help her?
“Just say the word sweet girl, and we’ll help you” they whispered in perfect unison, lips ghosting her neck as the smallest scrape of fangs along her skin sent shockwaves through her body.
And that’s when (Y/N) shot up on her couch, awake, heart pounding, thighs pressing together to try and find some relief. On shaky legs, she stumbled to her kitchen for her water bottle and drank frantically, dribbles running down the side of her mouth as she tried to cool the heat racing under her skin.
“Okay (Y/N)” she started as she set her bottle down on the table once more. “You’re either due a visit from the men in white coats as gran used to say, or something in your subconscious is telling you to ask the new guys for help. And maybe that you’re sexually frustrated.”
The Soba – no, Saja Boys as they called themselves probably hadn’t been assigned specific work yet. They were all in good shape but seemed to appear out of nowhere, which was suspicious, but she also hadn’t made that bad of a first impression on them today. Running a hand through her hair, (Y/N) mentally rehearsed what she would say to them if she were to ask for their help. Taking a deep breath to try and calm her nerves, she set off to her new neighbours’ home to ask them some questions, mentally praying it wouldn’t be Baby or Mystery answering the door because she wasn’t sure if she could look them in the eye so soon after that dream.

“What the hell did you two do?” Jinu snapped as he marched over to the mischievous duo, Abby and Romance following a few steps behind.
“Just some subliminal messaging” Baby mumbled in response as he flicked the pages of a book without actually reading a word of it.
“Subliminal messaging?! The bond was practically on fire! How did that even work – we can’t touch her!” Jinu’s hands flew up into the air as he looked between the two demons. Romance and Abby leaned against the wall nearby, partly annoyed at the two who made the first move and partly amused at their antics.
“We didn’t touch her – a dream version of us touched a dream version of her” Baby replied cheerily, making a half heart with his hand on his cheek like as if he was interacting with their fans. “I only played with her hair and Myst fed her some fruit.” Offended splutters left the other three in jealousy at the confession.
“She’s struggling here” Mystery spoke up, “we can’t read her mind, but we can feel she’s afraid. And it has to do with what the captain told her – and that piece of shit who touched her.”
Their eyes darkened as they remembered the interaction; the man who dared to touch her, caged her in and no one did anything to intervene. He would be dead by now if that voice hadn’t snatched them away and issued this challenge. Though the strange entity may think they would be responsible for their mate’s death, the group had no doubts they were here to protect her, and if there was one danger here, it was that man Duri.
A knock at the door halted their discussion, hearts skipping a beat as they felt her so close, her scent travelling through the doors and driving them wild. A wide grin spread across Baby’s face and the corners of Mystery’s mouth turned up in a smile as their plan provided results so quickly. Abby used his long legs to his advantage and sprinted past the others to answer the door, one hand on the handle, his other adjusting his shirt ever so slightly at the neckline as he opened the door and greeted (Y/N).
“Hey there neighbour, did you miss me already?” he looked down at his cute mate. “Or are you here to start up a running club?” Forgetting already what the entity had warned them, he reached a hand down to pat the top of her head, only to receive a painful electric shock through the hand on the doorhandle. His hand froze in mid air inches away from the top of her head as she stood there, looking up at his head in confusion.
“Who’s at the door Abby?” Romance appeared over his shoulder and glanced towards (Y/N), acting as if his very being wasn’t crying out that his mate was here. “Oh, hello again lovely (Y/N), would you like to come in?”
“As long as I’m not intruding” she said as her eyes moved from the frozen hand to Romance’s face, his smile growing as she gazed at him with those beautiful eyes.
“No intrusion at all” he replied as he pulled Abby out of the way and gestured for her to come in. Despite only being here a day the house already smelled of a blend of the five men’s scents, it was intoxicating.
Trying to shake off the fuzzy feeling creeping into her brain; (Y/N) followed the pink-haired pair to a dining room where the other three sat about, puzzle pieces scattered on the table in front of them. Romance pulled out a chair for her which she stiffly made her way to, palms sweaty as she kept her head down and avoided looking at two men in particular for fear her face would turn into a tomato.
“Would you like something to drink (Y/N)?” Abby asked, her head lifting to look at him, his handsome face closer than she was expecting. “We just boiled some water so I could make you tea. Found some in the back of a cupboard so not sure how strong it will be.”
“Just some hot water is fine, thank you Abby” she answered.
“You got it neighbour” he smiled softly at her before turning and headed towards the kitchen, feeling her eyes watching him as he retreated. Looking back towards the table, she was greeted by four pairs of eyes on her. Thankfully, Abby returned with a mug for her and sat down at the table, briefly breaking the awkwardness she felt. Wrapping her hands around the cup she let the warmth steady her nerves.
“I, um,” she started as the five watched her intently, “I was wondering if you had given any thought to what jobs you’ll be taking on yet. I know you’ve only been here a day, but they’ll want you to start contributing soon…”
“We honestly haven’t thought about it yet” Jinu replied as he rubbed the back of his neck. “There’s a lot to take in around here – but we probably want something physical or that gets us out of camp. We’re used to being on the move or spending hours burning calories in the studio.”
“Any suggestions for us cutie?” Baby leaned towards her with a sly grin on his face. (Y/N) struggled to look him in the eyes still, heat spreading across her face at the nickname, but she told herself it was just leftover idol charm leaking into the conversation. What Jinu said was promising but it would still be a lot of work.
“If you want physical labour then lumber duty is your best bet – it’s a bit monotonous but you’re outside all day and you’ll be in groups. There’s always guard duty as well but that’s more of a rotation so you might be out of camp some days but in camp others, and the hours are long.”
“What about what you do?” Romance prompted as he turned more towards her in his chair. “You’re a scavenger, right? You must be out and about all the time.”
“For now, yeah…” she mumbled. “I do but it’s a lot for most people – away for days at a time, sleeping in vehicles and no way of knowing what you’ll run into while you’re out there.”
“What do you mean for now?” Abby asked as he and the others all seemed to sit up straighter in their seats, or was that just her imagination?
“They’ve decided scavenging must be in groups from now on – because we need to travel further to find supplies now. I don’t really have anyone to go with, so I’ll probably try and change over to farming duties.” This was not how she wanted the conversation to go – she was supposed to be feeling out if they’d be interested, not selling her sob story.
“Are there any groups you would join up with?” the pink-haired muscle asked. The others tensed at his question – the last thing they wanted was for you to be away for days at time with other people. The thought of their mate sleeping in a confined space with others would make them bloodthirsty, and they had to restrain themselves for the next two months.
“No!” (Y/N) shouted suddenly before composing herself and clearing her throat. “Sorry, but no, I don’t… really see eye to eye with the others. It’s hard to build trust from there – and you need to trust the people you’re with for scavenging to work.”
“Do you think we could be people you trust?” Mystery’s voice startled her as he suddenly crouched down next to her seat, hands on his thighs.
Thighs. Hands. His hands on her legs – and now she was feeling hot again thinking about that cursed dream!
“I mean, we just met – would any of you say you could trust me right now?” she looked around the five as they all responded with their body language in their own ways. Jinu looked her dead in the eyes like he was trying to telepathically speak to her. Abby just grinned as he leaned back with both hands behind his head, muscles nearly bulging out of his sleeves. Romance looked her up and down in a way that made her feel exposed and nodded slightly. Baby just shrugged as he slid a puzzle piece back and forth on the table. And Mystery leaned closer, his expression enigmatic and it likely would stay that way even if she brushed his hair out of his face.
“How long do you have to find a group?” the crouched man asked.
“One week.”
“Will you give us a chance?”
Taking a big gulp from the mug and letting the heat soothe her, (Y/N) took a moment to ponder their questions. This was going too well – she hadn’t exactly made scavenging sound glamorous, and the days would be hard. She couldn’t just throw them in the deep end and take them away for days or weeks without any idea what they would be like in a crisis. But she could give them a sample of scavenging first – and if they hated it she’d run to the captain and request her change to farming duty.
“Okay, how about this?” she looked between the five. “There are some small scavenging jobs still available for whenever people want to – out and back in the same day. I’ll take you with me for some of them to give you an idea of what it’s like and if we work well together and you still want to do this, I will consider grouping up with you.”
“You mean it?” Jinu almost fell on top of the table as he leaned so far forward with excitement in his eyes. “We can shake on it – when do we start?” He extended his hand out towards her, talking so fast she almost didn’t catch what he said.
“Deal” she grinned as she took his hand in hers, a pleasant tingle on her skin at the touch, his hand was warm and strong around hers. “Meet me tomorrow at the gates and I’ll sort the rest out.” With that, she got up from the table and as she left she waved goodbye to the five men, possibly feeling more hopeful than she had in a while.
“I’ll just make sure she gets in safe” Romance casually said with a casual poof of pink smoke as he moved to discreetly watch their mate walk the short distance back.
“So our leader is the lucky one to get her touch first” Abby teased as he knocked his shoulder into Jinu’s – who was still staring at his hand trying to memorize how her hand felt in his. “Too bad it was only a handshake.”
“Huh?” Jinu’s head shot up to look at Abby and the other two as his ears flushed pink.
“We know what you really want” Baby chimed in, slowly standing from his seat and slinking over to the other demon, sitting in his lap and leaning down until they were close enough for their noses to just barely brush. “You have a tell, we’ve been together too long to not notice when you’re pent up.”
Jinu’s breath hitched as Baby moved closer; Abby and Mystery’s eyes burning his skin as they watched this unfold, a groan escaping as his teal-haired companion kissed him. For the briefest second he was pulled out of the moment as Romance appeared once more in a cloud of pink smoke behind him – before his lips met Jinu’s neck and his busy mind went quiet. It had been so long since the five had had a moment like this, where they could enjoy each other’s touch and forget the world, and it would only get better once they could share this with (Y/N).
“Nothing to say now, huh?” Baby pulled away and looked at him with a smirk, the sounds of Abby and Mystery kissing their background music. He felt Romance’s smile on the back of his neck before fanged teeth bit down to leave their mark.
“You’re such a brat” he growled as he pulled Baby closer by his hips.
“You love it.”
“You’re still in trouble – you and Myst. Now why don’t you put that mouth to use and we’ll see if you’re forgiven.”
“Of course, we’ll all kiss and make up” Baby purred as he kissed down Jinu’s neck and his clothed chest, sliding onto his knees on the floor and looking up at him through his lashes, eyes briefly meeting Romance’s who watched with his chin resting on the dark-haired mans shoulder in amusement. Low growls echoed next to them as Abby and Mystery were now laying on the floor tearing each other’s clothes off. The bond pulsed still, letting them know she was safe, would she feel their heat in this moment? The sensations and pleasure they were bringing each other – would it make her feel all hot and bothered out of nowhere? Baby’s lips met Jinu’s crotch as he felt Romance palming himself over his jeans behind him.
They needed this.
