Kota loved animals, she really did. They were sweet and they were pure, and snuggling up with one after a long, hectic day at work sounded like heaven on Earth. But Ollie had other plans. Kota had cracked her bedroom window to let some cool air in so she could curl up comfortably in a pile of fuzzy blankets and drift off to sleep, and what did Ollie do? Jumped right out of her second story apartment and onto a tree branch that was just out of reach. âOh, youâve got to be kidding me,â Kota mumbled, throwing on her robe and a pair of slippers before heading outside to the sidewalk. âOllie, please, get down from there. Iâm begging,â Kota pleaded with the cat, not stopping to consider how insane she must look to anyone passing by.

was that OLIVIA HOLT spotted down at the shoreline of east hamptons main beach? must just be DAKOTA âKOTAâ REYNOLDS the TWENTY FOUR year old SOUS CHEF. whenever i hear PIERRE BY RYN WEAVER it reminds me of them. they are known for being IMPULSIVE but they make up for that by being INDEPENDENT. they have been living in the hamptons for SIX YEARS.
Dakota Justice Sunshine Reynolds was born in Brooklyn, New York to a couple who really had no business being parents. Her childhood was... turbulent, to say the least. Her dad bailed the minute the strip turned pink, so she grew up without ever knowing him. And her mom loved her with her whole heart, she really did, but she could never provide Kota with the stability that a child really needs. She liked to call herself a free spirit (hence Kotaâs long, strange name), but Kotaâs friends liked to call her a nut job. She never wanted to be confined, which was the reasoning she always gave Kota as to why they never had a real home. She preferred for their lives to be an adventure, which to her, meant living in a van so that they could âtravelâ. Though, they never seemed to make it out of Brooklyn. They also spent their fair share of time bouncing between womenâs shelters and her momâs boyfriendsâ apartments. Her mom also was never great about holding down a job since she used so many drugs. Kotaâs childhood was just one big wild card.
Kota had always been much more responsible than her mother had been. Whenever there was an apartment the family was crashing at, Kota was always the one responsible for the cooking and the cleaning. And she had always worked odd jobs (mostly in restaurants) to help the the two of them and her younger half-sibling get by. Kota had always known that this wasnât the kind of life that she wanted, so the second that she turned eighteen, she ventured out on her own. She wound up going to culinary school, and that combined with her experience working in restaurants helped her work her way up from a server to a sous chef position at a restaurant in the Hamptons. And as much as she wanted to put her old life behind her, she still helped out her mom and younger sibling with money and a place to crash whenever they needed it. That was just the kind of person she was. Sheâs always held onto her sweet nature despite her unpredictable childhood. She can definitely be tough and lay down the law when she needs to, but for the most part, Kota is a sweet, nurturing ray of sunshine, just like her name would imply.
