Honestly the way the fandom treats Claudia will never stop pissing me off, but specially now that we have such a good, deep portrayal of her in the series that conforms to a version where the uncomfortable aspects of her character are significativly toned down, yet people will STILL treat her like a baby???? Guys??? If i hear one more person say her relationship with Madeleine in the series is weird because of her appeareance i swear i'll loose it

Love Sleeps in the Poet’s Chest - Federico García Lorca
(Sonnet of Dark Love number one for Aureal Ucchelli)
You’ll never get just how I love you
because you sleep in me, you have been asleep
Weeping I hide you, haunted
by a voice of penetrating steel
Law that shakes the flesh and the brightest star
by now has already entered my aching heart
and the disturbing words have bitten
the wings off of your severe spirit
People leap in the gardens
looking for your body and my agony
on their green-maned horses of light
But stay asleep, Oh my darling
Hear the sound of my shattered blood through the violins!
Beware because they haunt us still!

Very random but when I think about book Claudia i can’t help but picture a drawing I made a while ago of another character from a short argentinian story my teacher showed me called “Margarita or The Power of the Pharmacopoeia” by Adolfo Bioy Casares
Thought It’d be nice to translate it and see if you see the vision so here it is <3:
Margarita or The Power of the Pharmacopoeia
[Short story by Adolfo Bioy Casares
“Your triumphs, poor fleeting triumphs.
Hand in hand, tango”
////
I don't remember why my son reproached me on a certain occasion:
“Everything works out for you!” he groaned in frustration.
The boy lived at home, with his wife and four children, the oldest being eleven years old, the youngest, Margarita, two. Because of the way his words revealed resentment, I was left worried. From time to time, I would discuss the matter with my daughter-in-law. I would tell her:
“You can't deny that in every triumph there's something repellent.”
"The triumph is the natural result of a job well done," she would answer
“It always carries some vanity, some vulgarity mixed in…”
“Not the triumph” — she'd interrupt me— “but the desire to triumph. Condemning triumph seems to me an excess of romanticism, undoubtedly convenient for the inept”
Despite her intelligence, my daughter-in-law couldn't convince me. In search of blame, I retrospectively examined my life, which has been spent among chemistry books in a pharmaceutical laboratory. My triumphs, if there were any, are perhaps genuine, but not spectacular. In what could be called my career of honors, I have reached the position of laboratory head. I have my own house and a good living. It is true that some of my formulas originated balms, ointments, and tinctures that line the shelves of all the pharmacies in our vast country and that, as they say, relieve many patients. I have allowed myself to doubt, because the relationship between the specific and the disease seems quite mysterious to me. However, when I glimpsed the formula of my Iron Plus tonic, I felt the anxiety and certainty of triumph and began to boastfully brag, saying that in pharmacopoeia and medicine, listen to me well, as the pages of "Caras y Caretas" attest, people consumed countless tonics and restoratives, until one day vitamins arrived and swept them away, as if they were mere trifles. The result is evident. Vitamins were discredited, which was inevitable, and today the world turns to the pharmacy in vain to alleviate its weakness and fatigue.
It's hard to believe, but my ever so stern daughter-in-law was terribly worried about her youngest daughter's lack of appetite. Indeed, the poor Margarita, with her golden hair and blue eyes, languid, pale, judicious, seemed like a print from the 19th century, the typical girl who, according to a tradition or superstition, is destined to reunite with the angels very early on.
My never-denied skill as a remedy cook, spurred by the desire to see my granddaughter doing well, worked quickly and I invented the aforementioned tonic. Its effectiveness was prodigious. Four daily tablespoons were enough to transform Margarita in just a few weeks; she now glowed with good color, she had grown, widened, and exhibited a satisfying, almost unsettling voracity. With determination and firmness, she seeked food, and if someone denied it to her, she filled with pure anger. This morning, at breakfast time, in the daily dining room, I was greeted by a spectacle I won't forget anytime soon. In the center of the table sat the girl, with a croissant in each hand. I thought I noticed a too-red color in her doll-like blonde cheeks. She was smeared with candy and blood. The remains of our family lay against each other with their heads together, in the corner of the room. My son, still alive, found the strength to utter his last words.
—Margarita is not to blame.
And he said them in that reproachful tone he usually used with me.

Heyy, no one will see this prolly but I wanted to ask for opinions on this before drawing
I'm a huge fan of both the IWTV series and the book, I usually alternate between designs to draw them or mix them up
The thing is, I looovee, Claudia's doll outfit in the series and I kinda wanna draw book Claudia with it just to see her in it, specially since she looks younger but it kinda rubs me the wrong way???
Is it kinda insensitive? Idk i don't mean it as whitewashing it's just 2 different designs but the books fandom is so annoying with the race topic sometimes that I feel like one of them a bit 😭
