Halloween is a western holiday with no events similar in korea so while halloweens popularity is slowly growing it is mostly celebrated as a party for adults to dress up and drink. Nevertheless here some related vocab for this spooky season!

🌹Expressing Beauty in Korean
🌺예쁘다- (usually the physical appearance of something) pretty
꽃이 예쁘다 - the flower is pretty
 🌺이쁘다- “slang” version of 예쁘다
옷이 이쁘다 - the clothes are pretty
 🌺아름답다- beautiful
하늘이 아름답다 - the sky is beautiful
 🌺곱다- (usually a color or object) gives a “soft” vibe and is therefore beautiful
한복 색깔이 곱다 - the hanbok colors are beautiful
 🌺아리땁다 (아리따운)- (usually a female) “beautified” and more poetic way of saying beautiful
아리따운 소녀 - the beautiful girl
 🌺어여쁘다- (usually a person or a personified object, or their personality/elegance) a poetic and somewhat “older” way of saying lovely
어여쁜 공주 - the lovely (in personality or elegance) princess
🌺예쁘장하다- (the physical looks of a person or an object) gives off a small/cutesy vibe 
예쁘장하게 생긴 여자아이 - the cute little girl
🌺귀엽다- (usually a person or animal) cute/lovely
강아지가 귀엽다 - the puppy is cute
 🌺사랑스럽다- (usually a person or animal) lovely
내 남자친구는 사랑스럽다 - my boyfriend is lovely
 🌺잘생겼다- (usually a male) handsome, literally means good looking

Hi there! I realize I haven’t posted any big vocabulary posts in a while, so I think it’s worth giving you guys a little break from grammar! Enjoy <3
Vocab // 어휘 [mostly korean foods]
음식 - food    ~ 한식 - korean food [한국 + 음식]
고기 - meat    ~ 물고기 - fish [lit. water meat] ** not the same as 해물 - seafood **    ~ 불고기 - korean marinated beef    ~ 닭고기 - chicken    ~ 소고기 - beef
소시지 - sausage
밥 - rice / meal    ~ 볶음밥 - fried rice
국 // 탕 // 갱 - soup    1. 국 - side dish soup [example: 미역국 - seaweed soup! this is very popular at birthday celebrations]    2. 탕 // 갱 - full meal soup [example: 감자탕 - pork bone soup]    ** you might get a side of 국물 [broth] with a main dish **
찌개 // 전골 - stew    1. 찌개 - thicker stew [example: 김치찌개 - kimchi stew]    2. 전골 - hotpot [example: 소고기전골 - vegetable and beef hotpot]
건더기 - ingredients in soup [like vegetables, meat, sauce]    ** to help with understanding the difference between 국 and 찌개, you won’t get much 건더기 in a 국 like soup **

전 - korean pancake    ~ 파전 - green onion korean pancake (my favourite)
떡볶이 - stir-fried rice cake
순대 - pork blood sausage

어묵을 썰고 끓은 물에 넣어요* - slice the fish cake and add into boiling water
*you can pronounce 넣어요 like -> 너요

i am doing a homestay while in korea and at first i was worried i wouldn’t learn any korean because i’m never home lol but!  i learned some useful stuff i thought i would share
다녀왔습니다 - for when you leave the house
다녀오겠습니다 - for when you return home
잘 먹겠습니다 - before you eat
잘 먹었습니다 - after you eat
안녕히 주무세요 - polite, formal way to say goodnight
안녕히 주무셨어요? - polite, formal way to say good morning
잘자 - informal way of saying goodnight (can say to younger people, people your age, and close friends)
잘자요 - goodnight to older people but not formal (to your 언니/오빠/누나/형)
