study tips for different learning styles
Here are some study tips for different learning styles that I’ve gathered from talking to friends and from what some professors have recommended their students to do:
VISUAL
draw pictures in your notes
benefit from illustrations & presentations that use color
use diagrams, graphs, underlining, mind-maps, etc
study in a visually appealing place
AUDITORY
study in groups, discuss things out with other people
record lectures, take part in a study group, go to tutoring
reduce lecture notes to only the main ideas
read texts out loud, pretend to teach someone else
explain ideas to other people
recite, recite, recite
create jingles or mnemonics
READ/WRITE
take notes during the lecture
underline, highlight, or circle printed material
borrow other students’ notes to compare and contrast
use a variety of colors, pens, highlighters, note cards, etc
write it out, re-write your notes, create mind-maps
make and use flashcards for studying
KINESTHETIC
trace letters and words to learn spellings, etc
take several breaks
write everything out
move around to learn new things
use non-distracting movement while you learn (like shaking your leg/foot, chewing gum, tap your pen/pencil)
listen to non-distracting music
study while walking or working out
MULTI-MODAL
write things out but also use colors and diagrams
move around, study in an isolated space, work at a standing desk
If you have any additional tips, feel free to add it and/or let me know!

Book review: Write This Down by Claudia Mills
° ° °
[subjective opinion strongly warned || already posted on bookstagram @.reindomthings]
Write This Down by Claudia Mills is definitely my answer. This book had caught my heart with the cover and storyline.
Write This Down tells about a 12 yrs old girl called Autumn who really loves to write. She dreamed to be a famous writer. Unfortunately, her brother, Hunter—who used to watch out her but has grown a big distance with her—read one of her poems with his band. They're mocking it and Autumn decides to show them that she can be a published author. She wrote all the things she felt about her relationship with his brother. But if her essay is published, everyone will know about her family's secret. Is being published worth hurting someone you love?
What I love from this book?
first: family drama
I love the family theme. Mills wrote the strongest family story in middle grade books that I've ever read. How broken parents when their child yell at them. How messed up a family when a child always being a denial.
second: the characters development.
Autumn is 12. And Hunter, her brother is 15. And they have their own characters like the way a puberty progress. Tbh, I hate Hunter for being such annoying, jerk child—actually he's a teenager who acted like a child, for me😂
But, if we see the puberty things, fifteen years old is the place when a person getting temperamental 😂 But still, I don't like the way he diss his sister, and his parents.
third: a common things that can be found in our daily life
I can easily get into the story. It was simple, yet so familiar. This book was such a comfortable read!
But a lil thing I still can't relate was all the scenes almost turned out to be a coincidence 😂
4.5/5⭐—that's why I strongly warned in the beginning 😂

Quote
What is memory? It's not something you can physically hold, or see, or smell, or taste. It's just a nerve impulses jumping between neurons. Sometimes it's a matter of choice. Other times it's self-preservation, or protection. Memories that tell a story, if you look hard enough. Because the purpose of memory, I would argue, is to remind us how to live.
