EDIT: Well this got a lot of attention! boyfriend asked what i was doing, told him i was editing a picture, boyfriend asked "is it something like house stretched out with the words 'menstrual blood' on it or some shit?", boyfriend was wrong, boyfriend was also onto something this goes hard

my mom was very sweet just now but kinda hurt my feelings a tiny bit.

When talking about my dad, she said that she hopes i also am lucky enough to find someone great to grow old with. it's a very sweet thing to say, but it's just a reminder to me.

I've never outright said to my mom that I'm aroace. I also don't plan on it. I have, however, said that I don't plan on/think I'll get married in the future. She's given me an aro pin saying "you're this, right?" after seeing the aromantic flag in my room but i don't expect her to know what that flag means. that was before i even embraced being asexual.

I hope my mom doesn't care, and i feel like she probably doesn't, but i just can't tell her im aroace and i can't explain it. she's not the best ally, but i know she still tries, so why am i so afraid? it seems like despite all the small hints I've dropped about not getting married, it doesn't register to her. i guess that's why i don't want to tell her.
