Someone asked me today if you still feel like home to me. And I said yes. But you don’t feel like a safe home. You feel like the abusive home I grew up in. The one with the abusive alcoholic, but you were without as much alcohol, but just as much painful words. The one where I felt in-prisoned. The one that I tried so hard fixing, but I was the only one trying to fix it. The one that was falling apart at the seams. They then asked me if my new boy feels like home. And I said yes. He feels like the safe home. The home that I moved into when I finally escaped that abusive home. The home where when I don’t dread coming home to. I think anyone I’ve ever loved will always feel like home to me. But that doesn’t mean its the good kind of home.
