Do you ever think about what Zhaitan must have been feeling/thinking, clinging to that tower after we shot him from the sky, waiting for the final blow? The Elder Dragon of death and he was the first to die.

Nothing special. Just been thinking about that final fight with Zhaitan since I just got my *checks* Twelfth character past it and onto HoT/PoF A little while ago, the size of the Elder Dragons was brought up in a group I post in. There was a lot of debate, but we all bascially agreed that Zhaitan was clearly the smallest of them, which we all thought was weird. At least, till someone pointed out that at that point in the game’s growth, with the map limitations and other such things, Zhaitan was the biggest boss they’d fielded. So big in fact, you couldn’t fight him directly, but had to basically just survive until the automated systems took him down to the point where you COULD hurt him. Somewhere in that conversation, I tossed up an idea that a few latched onto. We’ve all seen the in-game movies with a fully-dragon-looking Zhaitan on top of mountains in Orr, right? And we all know that he only looked that way because they hadn’t fully committed to a final design for him until WAY late in the vanilla campaign, so they only showed pieces of him, like his primary head (with its lower jaw attached). But we all know that when you finally face him, he looks like the pics above: a mismatched, unwieldy, barely aloft mess of decaying body parts. So this is where my theory came into play.

do you ever think about newborn syvlari and other races
like how many brawls in the Citadeal are from someone being a bit gruff with a sapling and suddenly being surrounded by a warband that’s basically adopted a plant bandmate because that sylvari called them “the most dangerous warriors they’ve ever seen!” and now they teach them drills and gave them a bandname
an Asuran krewe flipping off another krewe because the sapling that they befriended is basically a new tall assistant that absorbs all this new information like a sponge, thinks they’re the smartest Asuran krewe in the world and understood that complex equation from the second they fell off the tree unlike SOME asura, Phlunt
Human’s who are so happy to see someone with an interest in their history, their god,s their traditions - veen if that someone is a baby plant person and they nearly had the whole farm crying when they discovered chicks where a thing and sat covered in a fluffy, yellow mass of chicks and is now guarded by hens (because that’s a big plant chick and they love their big plant chick)
and Norn
Norn who practically glide away from conversations with saplings, fresh off the tree and baffled by snow - who listens with wide eyes about their adventures, about the spirits of the wilds, who practically sings their praises to the Grove and back over all this Norn has seen and the first time they see a Norn transform, they think the Norn is a spirit of the wild and yes the big Norn needed a hug cuz the small plant called them the greatest legend

if i were one of the farmers tending to the field right outside beetletun i’d be so pissed at the commander, like every now and then that absolute asshole just barges in on their huge-ass raptor uninvited, steals all the lettuce me and my pals worked so hard to grow and then just leaves without a single word of thanks. like what can i, a humble farmer, do about that? i tell you. i can do nothing. i’m just a peasant with dirt under my fingernails and a seething rage boiling inside of my probably malnourished body. but i sure as hell would piss on every single vegetable on that field whenever my bladder allows it just to get the sweet satisfaction that the pact commander is out there somewhere, eating my piss lettuce.

a slightly altered timeline. send me ‘ timeline ’ and a number and i will tell you how my muse and their life would have turned out in a life slightly altered compared to their canon one—same universe, but where something little, or something big, went differently.
the timeline in which they live an ideal life, had no opportunities taken from them, were subjected to nothing terrible, where they grew up to fulfil their full potential.
the timeline in which they never met who would become the most influential or important person in their life, or that person was taken from them before they were capable of forming memories.
the timeline in which something important to them happened in a different stage of life.
the timeline in which they knew beforehand of something they would have prevented if given the chance.
the timeline in which they continue on from the current point in their lives to the best happy ending that is within their reach, where nothing that has happened so far is negated but from now on, the happy things start piling up.
the timeline in which everything that could go wrong from this point on… does.
the timeline in which they never experience the loss that taught them something important.
the timeline in which they gain everything they want, except for the thing they wanted the most.
the timeline in which they live the life they currently see the most likely for them.
the timeline in which something big to them never happened.
the timeline in which something very little happened differently, but it changed a lot.
the timeline in which they had a person in their life when they needed one the most.
the timeline in which instead of the most influential person in their life, they had a person who had the complete opposite effect on them.
the timeline in which they took a chance they didn’t in canon.
the timeline in which they let a chance go by.
