“The incessant invocation of God’s name is a medicine which mortifies not just the passions, but even their influence. Just as the physician puts medications or dressings on a wound that it might be healed, without the patient even knowing the manner of their operation, so also the name of God, when we invoke it, mortifies all passions, though we do not know how that happens” – Saint Barsanuphius

broke: midsommar is a girl power movie
woke: midsommar is a horror movie about a manipulative cult
bespoke: midsommar is a litmus test to tell how easily you could be indoctrinated into a cult and if your first thought after watching it is that it was a girl power movie you’re very susceptible to cult tactics and you should be aware of that

“Never forget what it is like to see the world as a child, Senua: where every autumn leaf is a work of art; every rolling cloud, a moving picture; every day a new story. We too emerge from this magic, like a wave from the ocean, only to return back to the sea. Do not mourn the waves, the leaves and the clouds. Because even in darkness the wonder and beauty of the world never leaves. It's always there, just waiting to be seen again.”

El Silbón (The Whistler)
Originating from Columbia and Venezuela, El Silbón is the spirit of a young boy who murdered his father for abusing his wife. The boys grandfather, angered over the death of his son, ordered that the youth be tied to a post in the middle of the countryside and lashed until his back was destroyed. His wounds were then cleaned with alcohol and he was released with two rabid dogs set upon him. He was cursed to carry the bones of his father for all eternity.
It is said that if his whistling sounds close, there’s no danger, and the whistler is far away. but if the whistling sounds distant, it means he is nearby.

it’s really gross when people try to wrap Christianity around their political views, and you can just TELL that they worship their politics more than Christ. this goes for the Left AND the Right.
