“You’re already beautiful,” Klaus says, careless as he is with just about anything else. Like Five isn’t noticeably tender with it. Like Five isn’t already about to fucking burst. Like he hasn’t grown into his nose. Oh, wait. He hasn’t. He’s not sure when he does. How long will he wait? “Couple of years? I know you’re gonna be gorgeous.”

Five’s chest hurts with a furious, filthy rage that’s grown its own teeth, its own claw. He wants, at that moment, to destroy the world and he doesn’t know why. “Stop it.”

Klaus’s hands still, and he lets his body relax into the cushions, relent against the rigid curl of his spine. “Okay.” 

It doesn’t cool the fire, it doesn’t ease the rage. His stomach drops, palms clammy where they grip the cushion and Five doesn’t fucking know what he wants. Klaus was right. “No...wait.” 

“...Okay.”

On the twelfth hour of the first day of October, 1989, forty-three women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began.

Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.

Along with their dæmons, he got seven of them.

Snippet:

On the day Sir Reginald Hargreeves introduced the Umbrella Academy to the world, the headlines and articles primarily focused on the children's special abilities and Hargreeves' bold statement that they would save the world. The immediate sensation the Academy set off in the scandal rags had less to do with that, and more to do with the pictures that were on every front page.

A group shot of six children, young enough that their dæmons were still able to slide from form to form between camera shots, most fluttering with youthful exuberance.

And another picture of two of the boys emerging from the bank. Both dark haired, one looking back and smiling when he saw the slightly taller one, dæmon perched in his messy curls. The one who slung a casual arm around the shorter boy's shoulders, eliciting a sharp, pleased smile.

The same one who just as casually let the shorter boy's dæmon land in his open hand, resting on bare skin in hummingbird form. The curly haired boy's own dæmon still comfortably perched on top of his messy curls, as though they weren't breaking the oldest and deepest societal taboos with casual, happy smiles on their faces.

Umbrella Rouge! Five and Klaus a la Moulin Rouge, in which Klaus is scantily clad and about to be in Five's arms, (inside an elephant). Klive Bang 2021

If you or someone you love is starving for Klive content, there is hope for recovery.

Klaus/Five may be a small ship, but that doesn't mean they can't have their own event! The Klive Bang was created to celebrate and generate content for the romantic relationship between Klaus and Five Hargreeves from The Umbrella Academy.

"But wait!" you cry. "Isn't that incest!? Isn't that pedophilia!?" Follow this link for important information addressing your concerns.

With that out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff!

Who can Participate?

The Klive Bang is open to writers and artists of all ages and skill levels. We only ask that you be 18 or older to submit explicit adult content.

The Details

Since this is a small ship, we're keeping things simple. Unlike traditional Big Bangs, we will not be pairing artists with writers to create specific fic illustrations. Writers and artists will each create their own unique work. Fic submissions can be of any rating, but art cannot be explicit due to Aidan's age and Tumblr's content guidelines.

Fics must be a minimum of 10k. There is no maximum word count.

Art can be digital or traditional and must be a completed work–not an unfinished sketch.

We have prompts available if you need some inspiration, but they are entirely optional. You can combine prompts, use a partial prompt, or choose your own idea and ignore the prompts entirely. It’s up to you!

To make things interesting, we will also be hosting an optional prize draw! The prize will be your choice between a month of Discord Nitro, or an Amazon giftcard of equal value ($10 USD).

Full Prompts

Klaus and Five used to date years ago and run into each other at their hometown bar. They’re like “damn, you look better than ever, are you single? Let’s make out.”

Five thought he was straight until he flirted with Klaus at a party, and now he can’t get Klaus out of his head and is on a mission to find him even though he doesn’t know Klaus’s name.

Klaus’s old dealer is moving to be with his boyfriend, so he hooks him up with Five and Five refuses to sell to him because Klaus cut in front of Five in line one time YEARS ago and he’s not even sure that it was him. This is ridiculous.

Klaus and Five meet in a cemetery and Klaus is playing a song really loudly from your car and it’s so disrespectful so Five tells him as much and Klaus says, “it was their favourite song” and now Five feels like an ass.

Klaus is an insomniac who calls Ben at 3am except he misdials on his landline and tells Five all about his nightmare before letting him talk and now he’s mortified but Five doesn’t hang up.

Klaus has been hearing voices in the shadows, at night, around corners. He knows they’re not real, but their words are. He’s losing himself but Five is there to support him.

Klaus is a small independent artist/photographer/graphic designer/producer/etc. One day they get an email from someone saying that they manage a celebrity (Five) and that Five would like to work with Klaus (and it's legitimate.)

Klaus and Five, burning the food because they were distracted by each other.

Five was a ruthless agent, not afraid to get their hands dirty. But after an injury the agency set him up to become a mentor for the next generation of spies and he somehow feels more like a glorified babysitter trying to train Klaus.

Klaus is a park ranger who tells all the visitors to the state park that the forest is definitely not haunted, despite the battle that took place there hundreds of years ago. Five is the ghost that Klaus has fallen in love with.

Klaus and Five are in a heated argument and nobody knows why. They’re fighting over who loves the other more.

Klaus has a cat café and Five never really talks to anyone when he’s there and it seems almost rude, but the cats all seem to love him.

Everyone is going as a couple to the Valentine’s Day Party and it would look stupid if Klaus and Five went alone, right? Maybe they can just go together.

Soulmate au but we’re totally in denial despite it being obvious to everyone else around us.

Klaus is a tattoo artist and Five is his grumpy client coming for his first tattoo - or vice versa?

Reginald and Grace don’t know they’re dating and Klaus and Five can’t afford to be caught - unfortunately they’re bad at hiding.

One of them begging the other not to leave them alone. Klaus and Five both have abandonment issues and a fear of being by themselves.

Enemies with benefits - they might not be on the same side, but Klaus and Five can’t keep their hands off each other. Is there a possibility for love?

Ritual sex. That is all.

During their wedding, Klaus is so excited to marry Five, that the person who marries them barely has time to finish the sentence ‘’You may now kiss the --’’ before Klaus leaps into their Five’s arms and gives them a huge kiss on the mouth.

Klaus is very good at making flower arrangements and he loves his small shop. But he’s not a natural business person and so hires Five to help him keep his shop open.

The best part of class for Five was his heated debates with Klaus. For the rest of the Hagreeves - and Pogo - the best part was, when both of them finally went on a date together.

Five used to be the perfect child, always doing what he’s told, never acting up. But he’s finally had enough and wants to break out of this fake idyll Reginald shows to the world by being even more fake and who’s better than Klaus as his fake partner to give a big middle finger to Reggie?

Klaus/Five finds out that their childhood imaginary friend or hallucination is actually a real person from another universe and sets about trying to meet the other in person.
