riley was stumped for a moment. “i- well… well, we’re still young!” he protested. his arms instinctively wrapped around her when she sat on his lap. “… you’re what?” his eyebrows shot up in surprise. he couldn’t tell if she was joking or not.

jimin sighed and looked down, lips pressed together as she tried not to laugh, but like always she couldn’t hold it. “i’m messing with you, i’m sorry.” she spoke between laughter, leaning over to kiss his cheek, still tickled by his expression. “you’re still young and childless, don’t worry.”

“babe, we’re married.” jimin pointed out with a tilt of her head and a little laugh, taking the opportunity to tease him. she moved over from the doorway she’d entered from, coming to sit down in her husband’s lap, an arm loosely wrapping around his shoulders. “...what if i told you i’m pregnant?” she couldn’t resist teasing him some more, trying to sound as serious as she could.

“you know what…” riley spoke, having been silently thinking the entire time. “don’t take this the wrong way, but i feel like we’re all getting so old right now. everyone is getting married and having babies left and right, and it’s throwing me off.”

penny raised an eyebrow at her playfully. “glad you know yourself.” she joked. “hey, shh!!” penny quickly shushed her, ready to put her hand over her friend’s mouth, but she didn’t. “well, no one would think that i’d ever do it. but… i guess we talk about getting married a lot, but he always seems nervous about it and… i don’t know, it’s been a long time and he still didn’t propose, so… what if i do it?” 

“well, i think it’s awesome if you propose. why should he be expected to?” jimin shrugged, considering that concept for a second. in modern times, she couldn’t see any reason why old fashion rules should apply. “you really think he’s ready? how would you even ask? what ring? can i come help you shop? oh, shit. this is amazing.”

“please, when do i ever blab about anyone’s-... okay, about your secrets.” jimin spoke with a sheepish smile, knowing her loyalty was more with penelope than anyone else who told her things. jimin looked at friend pacing with an amused expression, knowing how she could get sometimes. “oh, holy shit!” the words came out to loud and jimin covered her mouth with her hand, eyebrows shooting up from the surprise of it. “what the fuck? i didn’t expect that.” she laughed, quieter now.

“you can’t tell anyone, not even riley!” penelope warned in a whisper as she closed the door to the room she shared with ambrose. she’d dragged jimin in there, and thankfully, their partners were too distracted catching up to notice them disappear. “okay, so,” she sighed, pacing for a few seconds before forcing herself to stop. “i think i might propose to ambrose.”

“true, you could throw a pout at uncle riley and he’d give you the entire world. consider yourself lucky. my dads are both immune by now.” he sighed, shaking his head like it was the most devastating thing. “oooh! you think it’s gonna work?” seongjun wondered, actually considering the possibilities. he always had to plan things so carefully before asking for anything. “imagine if he leaves me phoneless. he would do it.” he chuckled.

“oh, come on. even jinwoo?” aria titled her head, not so sure about that one. she’d seen him cave pretty easily in the past. “i think it could.” she nodded, shrugging her shoulders. she laughed with him, turning to face him better. “you could always just... buy it yourself, no? save up for a bit?”

“cuteness works on most dad’s, but... yeah, uncle min is a bit more responsible than my dad.” aria laughed, patting her friend on the shoulder sympathically. “go for the old ‘it got stolen’ trick, throw him off with a new excuse.” 

“alright, listen. so, the iphone 31 pro is dropping in a week. you think dad’s gonna let me borrow a thousand quid?” jun asked, hands on his cheeks as he thought deeply and so seriously about this. “i mean, cuteness still works on him. but dude’s gonna ask me what’s wrong with my current phone. the heck am i supposed to say to that? i dropped it in the toilet again? he’s not gonna believe that.”
